Ted Cruz Walks Away from the
Fight He Picked, Chuckling

Atlantic, by Philip Bump

Original Article

It´s hard not to admire how Senator Ted Cruz spent his summer. Months of touring the country and TV appearances telling conservatives that he wanted an (unwinnable) fight with the White House on Obamacare, getting the fight, and now sitting ringside cheering half-heartedly as the House throws punches. Cruz, a freshman from Texas, wasn´t the first guy to suggest that the party use a budget fight as leverage to rollback the Affordable Care Act, the president´s signature legislation. That idea dates back to 2011, as Chris Hayes noted on All In Wednesday night. In his segment, Hayes probably gave Cruz more

Idiots writing headlines and making up stories. I guess they are taking a break from telling the peeps how good the economy is and how great the Bamster is and now they get to write some fiction on how bad Ted Cruz really is. Keep chasing off readers that like to hear about the truth - soon your magazine will disappear too Atlantic - or you´ll be bought as a playtoy by a rich liberal white billionaire guy.

Cruz was simply warning that there is to be a fight against overwhelming odds. This is just a sniveling liberal trying to make something negative about Cruz because he scares them to death. It´s just another attack the liberals dream up. Lets see how Cruz retreats in the coming weeks. My guess is this writer will be peeing all over himself.

Bottom line is Cruz is a conservative and is doing more than his fair share of carrying the water that McConnell should be lifting.

Ted Cruz is not walking away. The Atlantic, also quoting Slate and PMSNBC, doesn´t see the forest for the trees. Yes, Cruz may well lose in the senate and probably will. He is being realistic. However, to separate the defunding from the rest of the resolution, the dems may be forced to a roll call vote. This could cost the democrats in the upcoming mid term senate races and who knows might flip some to vote for the defunding.
I agree with those above, they show us who they fear most.

Cruz never promised to carry defunding in the Senate. He just asked people to stiffen the spine of the House to defund and tell the Dem Senators what they were facing in their senate races if they defended Obamacare. A very brave fight and I will never forgive those Republicans who tried to tear him down. He´s smarter and more principaled than anyone else in both houses.

~~Update, 1:30 p.m.: In the wake of critique from his House colleagues, Cruz pledged on Thursday to "do everything necessary and anything possible to defund Obamacare" — including launching a speaking filibuster. When his colleague Rand Paul filibustered the president´s CIA nominee in March, Cruz joined the effort.~~

If the liberal author of this article believed that the GOP defunding of Obamacare would actually bite them in the rear, he would never publish an article like this. Instead, he would remain quiet and let them fall on the sword.

What we have here is pure projection to dissuade the GOP from defunding Obamacare in the House. After all, Obama has feet of clay right now.

But if you take the author at face value as being honest, what he really is saying is, "Don´t defund Obamacare", right? That´s his mission; protect the President´s signature legislation (and what a stinker it is).

Run those RINO b*astards out! Put those demonrats on notice that the people are awakening, and its not okay to spend money like its going out of style and then raise our taxes to pay for patronage and vote buying!

Senator Cornyn, move over and take a lesson.

God Bless Senator Cruz and his fellow Tea Party Constitutionalist who are fighting this near-dictatorial regime!

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,
