Tom Delay conviction overturned
American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

The wheels of justice have finally ground into dust the conviction of former Majority Leader Tom Delay, whose brilliant political career was ruined by a politicized indictment undertaken by a left wing district attorney name Ronny Earle. Mike Snyder of the Houston Chronicle reports: An Austin appeals court on Thursday overturned the conviction of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on charges related to a scheme to influence Texas elections.(snip)Because Austin is the state capital of Texas, the left wing voters in Travis County choose a DA who has oversight over politicians throughout the state, and comprise the

Another political persecution knocked out during the appeals process after the victim has lost his political reputation and elected position. A good example of how the liberal Democrats criminalize politics.

I bet the politically based prosecutor has absolute immunity from any civil action. You know that he knew that his butt would be covered before he started this fiasco, that no doubt cost the Texas taxpayers a lot of money.

As once said after another political persecution, "Where do I go to get my reputation back?"

Speaking of political persecution, Ronnie Earle´s successor as Austin DA got picked up for DWI a few months ago. Seems with some internal shenanigans she got off easy ... some time off of work, but quickly back to Austin Democrat business as usual.

A number of Republicans (and yes, there are about nine registered Republicans in Travis County. Maybe 10.) insisted on her resignation, which she refused to do.

The state wanted to withdraw funding for her political persecution operations because of these misdeeds. Guess who´s being investigated?

No, not the drunken lady DA and her gang. It´s Gov. Perry for wanting to defund her office.

Bizzaro world.

Senator Ted Stevens conviction was also overturned. I have little sympathy with Stevens, but some for Delay. Even so, where do they go to get compensation for the injustice done?

The D´s need to pay a heavy price for abusing the courts with such transparent political persecution, but who will pursue that?

Not happening.

1) Delay transferred soft money into hard money.
2) Law was passed banning such transfers.
3) Delay was indicted.
4) Judge threw out indictment, saying the law was not in place at the time of the offense.
5) Prosecutor went to the same grand jury with new charges.
6) Grand jury refused to indict.
7) Prosecutor went to another grand jury.
8) Grand jury refused to indict.
9) Prosecutor went to a third grand jury, which did indict Delay.
10) Delay found guilty of ´money laundering´, a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.

Ronnie Earl has been a political hack using his public office as Travis County Attorney to indict political enemies for decades. He has pleased the Austin area corrupt liberals who pride themselves in criminalizing politics for power. But Austin is "San Francisco on the Colorado" so what do we expect? Delay was the last Republican that would stand toe to toe with the liberals and give them back some of their own medicine. They hated it and used trumped up legal charges to fight their losses in politics.

In Lubbock where I grew up and lived for 50 Yrs., we referred to Austin as "Berkley on the Colorado." (no offense intended, Mr. Lifson). San Francisco works just as well.

Tom DeLay was just interviewed by Sean Hannity on-air of course and sounded great.

He´s very pleased and elated to finally be vindicated.
His legal bills so far are $12 million.
His friends have helped him out with that.

I love Congressman DeLay and DeFund ObamaKommieKare... as I like to say...

We need Congressman DeLay and DeFund back in DC... ASAP...
Let The Hammer go at these radical nutjob DimWitz and DimWitches.

They will never figger out what hit them!

And he pointed out... shutting down the Gummint in 1995 was great...
The GOP picked up Senate seats and held the House with only a couple seats lost...
They continued to hold the House until 2006.
So much for the spineless PussyKratz and their caving.

DeLay said in Billyboobboob Klintoon´s memoir he wrote that if the GOP had held
on for one more day (but Bob Dole caved), Klintoon would have given in to them.
We need to boot all spineless PussyKratz.

And bring back CongressMAN DeLay and DeFund.

Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences.
