Defenselessly ‘sheltered’ as
anti-gun fortress is breached

Washington Times, by Charlaes Hurt

For those of us foolish enough to live in a crime-gripped city that summarily denies our constitutional right to protect ourselves, this week´s massacre at the Washington Navy Yard pretty well sums up our insane, defenseless existence. Our Capitol Hill neighborhood drowned in the screams of sirens as police cars, vans, trucks and armored vehicles streaked through the narrow streets at deadly speeds. The skies filled with the constant whopping of countless helicopters.

Charles Hurt is one of my top 3 favorite columnists - the knuckles are always bare but the sense of humor and irony remains rich.

But I must ask him: when the crisis passes, what then? It is clear that the only means of opposing, overturning and/or nullifying these insane laws passed by equally insane leftists is to openly defy them en masse.

And the so-called psychopaths who murder on a mass scale always seem to pick defenseless victims. Has there ever been any workplace violence or mass shooting at a gun show?

"I loathe the military."

Thanks to President Clinton´s executive action, in the Spring of 1993, disarming military personnel and employees at our military bases, terrorists can now expect more return fire from a local donut shop than a military installation.

And since the Clinton Administration, our military bases have been gun free.

The pwer elites have their personl protection at taxpayers expense. But what about We The people who pay for all the Secret Service protection, armored cars and guns (assault weapons) with ammo in them? What about us?

You had Marines there at the Barracks, the best trained indivuduals in the world, in weapons, who could have probably cleared out building 197 much quicker and with less loss of life (if they had their ammo with them) then waiting for the Metropolitan DC police to respond.

Think about it, doesn´t it make perfect sense for the Navy Yard as a perfect example, where damn near any cleared worker
should be a ble to openly or concealed "carry" ?????
Bad enough inviting the not so crazed crazies into any government school in America, but armed services bases, the Navy Yard? It´s insanity, thanks to Slick Willie
and of course, entire Washington Congress,
all insane enough NOT to revoke this stupid

#6, we need to constantly remind people about whose bad judgment gave rise to this ridiculous policy. Now, when a military base (!!) is attacked, there is no one to fight back. Just think about that!

And when I look at TV and see the response of the DC police and other responders, I wonder if they even read the newspapers about the tactic of terrorists to attract the responders and then include them in the secondary attack. Supposedly, there was "no evidence this was a terrorist attack;" but when the response was first made, there was nothing to go on to rule it out. So why was every emergency vehicle parked so that one bomb would take them all out??? Does that DC police chief even know the term "ambush?" She just got lucky this time.

I won´t look up the names and details, since anyone can google it, but at the time of one of the mass shootings a few years ago one guy who was in some branch of law enforcement decided that the way law enforcement were trained was flawed. Up until that time, the first cops on the scene were trained to hunker down and wait for SWAT. Problem is, while they were standing around outside, several people were killed inside, and they could possibly have been saved. So, he went all over the country training police in a new system in which the first cops on the scene go in immediately, even if they are alone. Everything changed.

Similarly here. This notion of "sheltering in place" is madness. It is complete passivity. Waiting to die. Surrendering to victimhood. It is a most un-American notion and against our nature.

We train women to fight when they are attacked. To bite, scratch, kick, punch, but fight. Fight for your life. Same here. The whole thing must be rethought. Perhaps "sheltering in place" should be replaced with "find something to hit him with." The response must recognize the reality that we are, each of us, always, whether we like it or not, our own first responders.

Gun free and hate free zones. Only in liberal land. We better get used to the fact that there is, and has been, a full scale assault on the 2nd Amendment underway. Obviously Clinton played a part as did FDR before him. Now it´s on steroids while various government agencies are arming to the teeth. Their latest line of attack is the war on ammunition as a slick "lawyerly" way around the Constitution. The 2nd Amendment says we have the right to bear arms but it says nothing about ammo. So the government corners the market and Bingo! Gun control. Al Capone and Alinsky are laughing.

Apparently this guy Alexis has been a loose cannon for quite some time. Those who came in contact with him, including law enforcement, had information on his possible mental `irregularities`. As usual, the dots were not connected.

My guess is we`ll hear of a story in 6 months that our govn is still paying his civilian contractors salary.

“Do not take action.” Instead, we are given an “event” number and instructed to call 911.

This is like calling Dell Computer for service, only to be put on hold for some foreign technician who can´t speak your language. This is something only bureaucratic idiots could come up with. I will carry a weapon anywhere that I deem dangerous, with or without benefit of the proper paperwork. After you are caught defenseless and shot dead, who is going to argue in your behalf?

Today´s law enforcement has inflated egos and are not as effective as they would like to think. A perfect example was the terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon, where a private citizen discovered the murderer in his backyard but the police found it necessary to hold a big press conference to pat each other on the back for an hour.

So, thanks to Bill Clinton´s no personal weapons on military bases, we have 26 dead military members. 13 at Ft. Hood and 13 at the Navy Barracks.

Oh, wait a minute Hassan had a gun and Alexis had a gun. It was only the shooting victims that couldn´t defend themselves.

The whole 13 dead and shooter story is a big hoax. Firearms are illegal in DC, therefore I know via my elected leaders that banning guns virtually eliminates gun violence. This alleged "shooter" story is a big lie. However, IF the story were true and IF there were armed Marines at the gate like there was when I was on active duty, the shooter would have been dead just after his first trigger pull. Thankfully though, a person opening fire in a gun-free area is simply an impossibility. Just ask Dianne Feinstein.

As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. She blamed the Obama administration

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. (Video) Reid noted that most cattlemen pay their taxes, pay their fees, and follow

Joan Eisenstodt didn´t have a stopwatch when she went to see an ear, nose and throat specialist recently, but she is certain the physician was not in the exam room with her for more than three or four minutes. "He looked up my nose, said it was inflamed, told me to see the nurse for a prescription and was gone," said the 66-year-old Washington, D.C., consultant, who was suffering from an acute sinus infection. When she started protesting the doctor´s choice of medication, "He just cut me off totally," she said. "I´ve never been in and out from a visit faster." These days,

Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by
