Carney: Obama Implementing Executive
Actions Following Navy Yard Shooting

Associated Press, by Staff

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Monday wearily lamented “yet another mass shooting,” this time in the nation’s capital where the debate that raged earlier this year over tightening firearms laws has stalled amid opposition from gun-rights advocates. The shooting at the Washington Navy Yard came a week after voters recalled two Colorado legislators who supported tougher gun measures, illustrating the strong political headwinds faced by lawmakers seeking to respond to the violence. Obama, for one, has been powerless to get legislation passed despite a string of mass shootings during his presidency. In the wake of the shooting at the Navy Yard, Obama

To my mind, the only thing this shooting proves, in addition to all the other shootings at military installations, is that Obama is a weak, do nothing, kind of person.

Unless it involves a sneak from behind attack with drones, he will do nothing to fight this, yet again. Except to attack legal, law abiding citizens who own guns.

This man can´t even make an effort to help his own community in Chicago, where mass death happens on a daily/weekly basis. That is the real tragedy here.

Congress has to take the bull by the horns and put a stop to the illegal actions that are being taken by ALIbama.

If he or Holder don´t particularly like a law they tell enforcement officials to ignore the law and not enforce it. That is illegal !!

If congress refuses to pass a law to his liking he just creates a law by executive action. That is illegal.

As everybody here knows, there are many more illegal actions he and his buddy Holder take every day. Too many to get in this little box.

In my opinion these actions are impeachable items but no one has the guts to start the process. This country will cease to exist as we know it unless somebody takes some legal action to stop it.

Why do they always think they have to legislate something. Just follow what is already on the books, also you can´t protect everyone all the time. Bad things do happen and legislation will not stop it.

Hey Mr. President BO. You talk about, "strengthening gun laws, including expanding background checks to sales online and at gun shows." I understand the President of the United States is the Commander in Chief of all military and "military Campuses." The shooting was on "your" property with "your" military and hired staff working after "your" background check following "your" security protocol and shooter received a paycheck signed by "your" representative while installing "your" computers. Thank God "our" police had guns and were able to cure the situation. 13 dead yesterday. 13 dead Fort Hood. Why are "your" military killing each other under your direction as Commander and Chief?

Maybe if the government hadn´t grown to be such a behemoth,

and maybe if government hadn´t starting paying ridiculous amounts of money and bennies to both employees and contractors,

and maybe if government hadn´t started hiring people based on race (blacks and other minorities move to the top of the list),

and maybe if qualifications were more important than political correctness (think Nidal Hassaan),

and maybe if government wasn´t dominated by liberals and liberal/communist/democrat politicians giving out these jobs to buy votes,

then maybe, just maybe, we wouldn´t have this problem which is exemplified by the rise to power of the useless Zerobama, a man who has supplanted, if you can believe it, Jimmuh Cahtar as the worst president ever in the history of the world.

And now I have a question: what in the hell is wrong with you weak spined Republicans? If you guys don´t wake up and start acting like men, I am staying home in 2014/2016 and will encourage every Republican voter I know to do the same. Third party here I come!

Based upon what is known about the shooter to date -there is undoubtedly more to come- it is obvious that any number of red flags were waved and missed over a period of years. When all the pieces are put to together it will probably be seen that this man was seriously mentally ill and getting worse for a long time. Those who insist upon blaming firearms for such spree killings turn a blind eye to the real problem, which is almost always paranoid schizophrenia or something close to it. It is quite remarkable that the latest killer was employed in a high security position given what was known and documented of his background. What good are background checks if this level of incompetence in the checkers exists? Perhaps this is another Fort Hood situation in which the future murderer was spotted and known to be a problem for years but handled gently and ineffectively because of minority status.

Stand by for the usual incoming barrage of demagoguery about firearms from the usual suspects.

Notwithstanding the heartlessness of a president of a President who would go forward with a speech just a few miles from a site where a shooting rampage was occurring while he was talking, and that the media was reporting it, the bottom line is that the background checks to gain clearance to restricted military installations are woefully inadequate. If the suspect could get a clearance, then it appears anyone can, because there were multiple instances of his problems on record and he was currently undergoing treatment for a psychological problem at the VA.

The FBI has today reported he had a shotgun, and two pistols, with the two pistols apparently taken off the security guard(s) he shot.

The shooter was an ex-Navy Reservist who did bad things and was let go by the Navy...he was given an Honorable Discharge which allowed him to secure a job with a Defense contractor...now the Navy faces heat for the ´Honorable´ Discharge...I bet they knew better but would have faced even bigger heat for anything less...a black guy with a ´General´ would have it tough finding anything outside minimum wage in Obamas economy. He did not need a permit for a shotgun and D.C. does not honor outside Carry Permits so this shooter was hell bent on doing bad stuff and knew he could get better fire power once on base by killing a guard or an armed sailor on duty. Bad scene all around. How would dissarming the good guys kept him from his evil deeds?

It´s been obvious for quite some time that one of the purposes of ObamaKKKare is to dry up funding for research into schizophrenia and oher mental illnesses.

The Democrat elite want all that stuff gone!

Obama´s personal beliefs about mental illness are probably along the line of the story he told about surgeons deciding to amputate or fix a damaged foot based on the level of reimbursement. In short, he doesn´t believe it´s real, nor that there are genetic defects that create disease.

He suffers from magical thinking ~ delusions ~ as do other Democrats. Certainly we need a gene test to determine if something is true schizophrenia or just pretend schizophrenia, but maybe we have it ~ how do they register to vote ~ if Democrat, odds are good they are nuts.

This morning I watched a DC reporter provide ´on-the-scene´ coverage for our local CBS affiliate TV station (WLKY, Louisville.) The DC reporter told the reporters on the set that "the NRA had not yet provided any comment" regarding yesterday´s tragedy at the Navy Yard.

Idiots.

This attack happened on a military installation by a disturbed contractor. If anything there was a failure in security protocol, not weaponry.

The media (and this Adminstration) are biased.

Now they are saying that there was no assault rifle involved, and that the perpetrator showed up with a shotgun, disarmed two security guards and took their handguns. They are not sure yet, but that would mean that he had his own shotgun and the two handguns from the security guards when he perpetrated the murders. Obviously the liberal Democrats have a lot of other factors here to mull over before they press on to essentially ban law abiding people from owning firearms.

Federal installations are gun free zones except for security personnel. Employees are trained to lock doors and hide as part of their "Active Shooter" training. That did a lot of good/s.

The shooter must have taken Joe Biden´s advice about using a shotgun.

I have been a civilian contractor working for the US Navy and granted a "Secret" clearance. To give me the clearance, there was no real background check. All they did was pull my three credit reports and a low level clerk proofed my application to see if I answered all the questions.

That is it.....nothing else.

He is black so everyone is afraid of saying anything because they don´t want to be called a racist. It´s that simple. I have been seeing it for years and it´s not getting any better. Just ahead of a possible Hillary run for the presidency, the Clinton Library released a new load of documents from President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House. One of those documents attempts to explain Hillary´s "vast right-wing conspiracy" claim in which the Clinton administration accused Republican staffers of colluding with "extremists" on the Internet to hurt the Clintons. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC´s Today Show. As the nation awaits Hillary Clinton´s decision of whether or not she will run for president in 2016, a cache of 7,500 pages of newly released documents from Bill Clinton´s years in the White House show some familiar political themes. One revelation is that Bill Clinton worried that a massive new healthcare scheme would cause Americans to lose their insurance. In 1993, the President allowed his wife, first lady Hillary Clinton, to become the face of an Obamacare-like takeover of the nation´s healthcare system. The plan was sarcastically dubbed Hillarycare. WASHINGTON AND NEW YORK - In September 2001, as the U.S. reeled from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Vladimir Putin supported Washington´s imminent invasion of Afghanistan in ways that would have been inconceivable during the Cold War. He agreed that U.S. planes carrying humanitarian aid could fly through Russian air space. He said the U.S. military could use airbases in former Soviet republics in Central Asia. And he ordered his generals to brief their U.S. counterparts on their own ill-fated 1980s occupation of Afghanistan. During Putin´s visit to President George W. Bush´s Texas ranch two

When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist

"No, absolutely not," the November midterm election is not a referendum on President Obama and his policies, Democrat Party Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) told NBC´s "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "[T]hese elections, particularly the Senate elections, are referendums on the candidates running," she said. Asked about vulnerable Democrats who have criticized President Obama´s flawed healthcare law, Wasserman Schultz said they are running their own race. "They have to talk about and focus on the issues that are important to their constituents. And what´s also true is, if you look at the success rate and the track record of

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

New York Times columnist David Brooks said Sunday that he believes President Obama’s foreign policy isn’t “tough enough” and that he has a “manhood problem” when it comes to dealing with leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mr. Brooks expanded on Sen. Bob Corker’s earlier comments on “Fox News Sunday” that Mr. Obama is “creating an air of permissiveness” with regards to Russia. (Snip) “And let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a — I’ll say it crudely — but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he continued.

DNC Chair and Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) told Meet the Press’ David Gregory Sunday morning that President Barack Obama’s latest delay in the approval of the proposed Keystone Pipeline was not a political decision meant to animate members of the Democratic base ahead of the 2014 midterms. “As a member of Congress who represents hundreds of thousands of people in south Florida, I want to make sure the right decision is arrived at and that the president makes that decision carefully and doesn’t factor politics into his decision, which I don’t think he is,” Wasserman Schultz said.
