Obama’s ‘unbelievably small’ presidency
Washington Post, by Marc A. Thiessen

If you have any doubts that President Obama’s handling of Syria is an utter debacle, witness the embarrassing spectacle this morning as his top aides scramble to place blame for it at their boss’s feet. In today’s Wall Street Journal, senior officials leak how they desperately tried to talk Obama out of his “head-spinning reversal” on airstrikes and his decision to go to Congress. “He received swift — and negative — responses from his staff,” the Journal reports. National security adviser Susan Rice, we learn, warned that “he risked undermining his powers as commander in chief.” Senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer

If Democrats had sincerely wanted a credible, competent commander in chief who would act in the best interest of the nation - would they ever have even considered someone like Barack Obama for the presidency, much less place him in the Oval Office for two terms?! Think about it.

Democrats clearly do not want the president of the United States to be credible, competent or to act in the best interest of the nation. That would work against their grand scheme: Decline (or as they call it, "Forward"). The apparent consternation now at Obama´s littleness is only a show, believe me.

Obama did not get elected with just Democrat votes. Consider how many Republicans voted for him or sat it out. Consider how many inept, self serving Republicans like Boehner, Cantor, Lindsay Graham and McCain assist him in every way all as they say "fight with me". Now the Republicans have enormous supply of issues that the country is urging them to fight and they attack Ted Cruz and Mike Lee for doing so. They exasperate me. If this is a representative republic, it sure doesn´t seem that way. We expect this from the Dems but the Republicans cave or attack the leader who truly fights.

This should have finally proven that the liberal apologetic surrender monkey strategy of what they like to call ´foreign policy´ not only endangers America but has impact on every corner of the world. The aging peaceniks and Democrat spinmeisters will carry on with their pathetic story of how brilliant this all was but the rest of us know how sad the truth really is. It will take years to repair the damage this horrible man has done to our country.

The feigned surprise over something we all knew five years ago is what is unbelievable to me. The democrats found a useless lump of clay and, after working it and smoothing it, end up with a useless lump of clay.

Instead, Russia and Syria were the ones issuing the demands. Russia has elevated its standing on the world stage at America’s expense, with President Vladimir Putin lecturing the president in a New York Times op-ed about the dangers of American exceptionalism.

Reading Thiessen´s litany of faux pas by this POTUS, it is clear that the incoherent policies are finally being noticed.

Obama thinks like a postmodern: He doesn´t have to give rational thought to what he states is the truth. He doesn´t have to give coherent reasons for his actions. He simply believes that if he thinks it, it is not only true but will come to pass.

Obama, postmodern that he is, does not know how to think analytically; his thinking is based entirely on what he wants to be true, if indeed he gives truth a second glance.

This is how he gets away with non-logical, non-analytical actions -- he is surrounded by other postmoderns whose thinking processes follow the same pattern - incoherence.

Would you want a postmodern thinker doing your surgery? The result would be the result we are seeing today; a hemorrhaging of our country´s life´s blood, our Constitution and a botched operation they call foreign policy.

Talented people either won´t run or can´t get elected. The skill set candidates need is acting ability and marketing facility. But the actual job is administrative. Getting a person with command of all these talents and the desire to do demanding work for little compensation is probably too much to ask.

It´s because he is black. If this man was white he would still be a small-time poli making pretty speeches in Chicago. And this is the reason he will never be impeached, no matter what he does. The country has been bending over backwards and forwards and turning itself into a pretzel to atone for the sin of slavery and discrimination. It´s just too bad that our first black president also happens to be a Marxist/communist.

So now WAPO takes Obama to task over his judgement and handling of a potential crisis? They sound as if they are America´s biggest cheerleaders and so "disappointed" that the "quarterback" (Barry O) didn´t "run the ball" into the end zone.

I am thinking back to the Bush43 years after Dubya "ran the ball" into the end zone in Iraq and Afghanistan, with Congress and UN approval. Only briefly, when the "touchdown" was scored, was there any praise for his strength and resolve in defeating a very despicable enemy.

Almost on a daily basis the MSM, which includes WAPO, called Dubya a "cowboy" whose hat was too big for him, and he even wore "cowboy" boots, too. It didn´t matter that most Texans who own ranches usually do wear cowboy boots for good reason - snakes.

Oh how I miss Dubya and his lovely wife Laura! They are truly good people. Remember how Dubya gave up playing golf shortly after the war in Iraq began, because the soldiers fighting in the war couldn´t play golf. He thought it unseemly for the C-I-C to play in time of war and those he sent to war couldn´t. Also remember, President Bush and Laura quite often visited our injured soldiers in the hospital when they returned home.

I could write a book on the glaring differences between a real President and how he leads compared to this fake, phony, imposter and his witchy wife occupying our White House.

Finally, after decades of planning, the progressives have a front man in the presidency. He is not smart but believes as they do. Look at his cabinet, his czars. And before that, his mentors ( Wright and Davis) . His shadowy past. He has been brought up with contempt for America. At the 10th annivesary ceremony of 9/11 , he was in NYC with his wife who was seen to say to him " All this for a damn flag".obama nodded in response. The hate this contry, and bringig it down (in any and all ways )is the plan . Please understand, anyone that disagrees with this plan is seen and treated as an enemy.

Uprising - Why would you rise up against the guy giving you free phones? Gas prices, not his fault. Food prices, not his fault. Out of work, he´s pushing for more unemployment benefits and easier access to food stamps.

Somehow, his policies are not his fault.

It won´t be a ´patriot´ who makes an attempt at the ONE. We´re too optimistic - we think we can fix what he breaks after he is out of office (that depends of if he follows the rules and allows an election in 2016)

As history has shown us, it will be a disgruntled liberal that causes the implementation of Martial Law and the suspension of elections. As in the Boston bombing, the liberal media and politicians will immediately blame the Tea Party, thus getting the erroneous information on the front page, only to be corrected on page 14 in a quarter inch column a few days later.

This comment refers to a side-topic of the article but what infuriates, still, is the decision of the NYT to publish President Putin’s critical letter on September 11, 2013. September 11!! – a holy, sacred day to all Americans still reeling from the utter brutality and loss from the terrorist actions of that day. That the opinion editor of the premier newspaper of New York (of all places) chose to publish such a letter written by an avowed adversary on that date prompts one to wonder about the political motivation of the choice.

In my opinion, the decision to publish that patronizing, finger-wagging letter on that date remains one that is disgraceful and disgusting.

The press? The voters? Educators? The uber bed and Depends wetting GOP? Undermine with respect to what? The truth? The consequences to the nation? His agenda continues to afterburn toward Alinsky Xanadu regardless of who or how anyone reacts so how exactly can he undermine his own presidency? And again as Hillary would say, "What difference does it make"? Certainly doesn´t make a flip to the Jell-O, er, I mean, the GOP.

Advice to Democrats: Don´t say ´recovery´

WASHINGTON - Election-year memo to Democratic candidates: Don´t talk about the economic recovery. It´s a political loser. So say Democratic strategists in a blunt declaration that such talk skips over "how much trouble people are in, and doesn´t convince them that policymakers really understand or are even focusing on the problems they continue to face." In addition, Stan Greenberg, James Carville and others wrote that in head-to-head polling tests the mere mention of the word "recovery" is trumped by a Republican assertion that the Obama administration has had six years to get the economy moving and its policies haven´t worked. President Obama has warned that Iran is not open for business, even as the United States has loosened some of its punishing economic sanctions as part of an interim nuclear pact. Bearing a small American flag on its tail, the aircraft was parked in a highly visible section of Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. Saying they can no longer ignore the rising prices of health care, some of the most influential medical groups in the nation are recommending that doctors weigh the costs, not just the effectiveness of treatments, as they make decisions about patient care. The shift, little noticed outside the medical establishment but already controversial inside it, suggests that doctors are starting to redefine their roles, from being concerned exclusively about individual patients to exerting influence on how health care dollars are spent. “We understand that we doctors should be and are stewards of the larger society as well as of the patient in

Hillary Clinton may end up deciding she wants to spend the 935 days until election 2016 making corporate speeches and spoiling her grandchild. President Barack Obama used his Thursday press conference to diagnose Republicans as fear-mongering, spiteful, obstinate, petulant and obstructive, as he again declared mission-accomplished in his effort to put the nation’s health-care under government control. “I recognize that their party is going through the stages of grief — anger and denial and all that stuff — and we’re not at acceptance yet,” Obama told reporters, where he announced that his Obamacare network had claimed 8 million subscribers. Three years into that budget showdown, Mr. Ryan and his Republican colleagues are winning. Government spending has slowed, and Mr. Obama’s plans for higher taxes and higher spending have fallen by the wayside. “The discretionary spending has in fact been driven by Republicans post-2010 clamping down,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former director of the Congressional Budget Office who is now president of the

Reading them, it struck me that this argument would benefit from laying down some specific markers for the near future, because Klein seems to move back and forth between two definitions of success. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
