Obamacare’s Useful Idiots
American Spectator, by David Catron

Remember that March day in 2010 when the President, surrounded by devout supporters, solemnly signed Obamacare into law? It was, as Joe Biden brayed, “a big f-----g deal.” Obama and his army of righteous reformers had finally triumphed over the forces of evil and passed legislation that would drive the moneychangers from the temple of U.S. health care. Many of those beaming down on the President as he wielded his terrible swift pen represented prestigious national organizations and coalitions whose support had made the glorious moment possible. Some of these groups have since seen the error of their ways.

People have an amazing ability to adapt to their environment. For example, people living in rat and roach infested houses or in extreme weather condiitions in either direction.-33 in Alaska or 110 in Arizona.

So people at the bottom of the rung in this country basically accept their horrible conditions as long as it´s free. But people who are used to a better lifestyle don´t accept drastic change that will drag their lifestyles down. For those people,Obamacare is a huge threat and it´s intended to be by the crafters of this bill, who have long since had it in for middle class whites, even white liberals loathe middle class whites based on their politics..

The point is the people at the bottom realize there´s no up elevator for them and they accept it. They would actually get more pleasure in seeing whites dragged down to their level.

Obama has the gall to complain about the wealth gap when him and his ilk made it that way. They´ve surpresed poor people with lousy education and making them content with a new government perk here and there. The wealth gap is a natural development in a communist society where the ruling class steals all the money.

The liberal boilerplate is repuplicans have all the money and the lofos believe it,thus their hatred of Romney.

I don´t believe barack can legally issue a waiver on the Cadillac plans of union members only. The waivers would have to apply to all recipients of Cadillac plans.
And that would subtract a part of the bogus funding for kenyacare.
But barack, and HHS secretary sebelius play fast and loose with the law, so ...

Great article. I could not believe it when the American Medican Association and the Catholic Health association backed Obamacare. What foolishness. The unions were, of course, a gimme. Corrupt, and none too bright, they trusted Democratic disonesty to work in their favor but never thought it would be turned against them.

Yes, the AMA supported Obamacare, which is one of many reasons that a majority of physicians reject the AMA, and left it years ago.

Ditto the AARP, by the way.

Nobody was "suckered" into this. Obamacare is the product of decades of Democrat wet-dreams, and those thousands of pages weren´t writtn overnight. The AFL-CIO and AMA, and the rest, were all facilitators becasue they smelled $$$ headed their way. This is just forced re-distribution, not reform, and they all knew it and supported Obamacare on that basis.

This government has removed incentives for individual success over the years. This brings us to where we are now. One reason for getting a good education was to enable one to get and enjoy the benefit of a solid insurance and retirement plan. Dragging everyone down to the same level is not the America that we need to face the future challenges.

Having just freed my elderly father from a 3-week hospital stay, this topic is near and dear to my heart.

The 3-week stay was the result of a medication error but the hospital and numerous doctors will profit, at least a little, from 3 weeks of wandering through his room and collecting a few dollars for it.

Our "health" "care" system is a dangerous disaster. The ICU care was very good and did what it was supposed to do. Everything after that, especially rehab, was run by morons and death-panel types. I think they were a bit disappointed when we wheeled him out of their clutches upright instead of horizontal covered with a sheet.

One day at home and his improvement is amazing. Of course we took him off all the hospital meds and he´s back on only the few maintenance meds he already took but the hospital had replaced for a reason they would never explain.

It´s not Christian but I hope every useful idiot and greedy fool who supported this national nightmare ends up getting what they wanted, and getting it good and hard.

They´re not "intellectually" impaired so much as morally impaired. They knew damn well it was wrong yet they still cling to their faulty choice.

When you attempt to inform her that this isn´t exactly the case, she simply smiles politely and says, "You´ve been watching Fox News, haven´t you?"

Not to worry. Obama still has time. He didn´t study law to practice it. He studied law to learn how to game it. This should be an axiom.

The ACA is a case example of statutory ambiguity. This was on purpose. It is ripe for Obama or his leftist lawyers to interpret. This has been his M.O. on all matters from day one. He believes he has legal authority to do just about anything. He can alter or postpone whatever. There has been a coup and people haven´t a clue. The unions will be taken care of before they are needed in 2014.

Well, it´s Easter time, and that means that the mainstream media and publishing houses can be counted upon to issue de-bunking attacks on orthodox Christianity. The best-publicized of these is Bart Ehrman´s How Jesus Became God. Many by now know at least the outlines of Ehrman´s biography: once a devout Bible-believing evangelical Christian, trained at Wheaton College, the alma mater of Billy Graham, he saw the light and became an agnostic scholar and is now on a mission to undermine the fundamental assumptions of Christianity. In this most recent tome, Ehrman lays out what is actually a very old thesis, going back

It was disappointing the other day to see President Barack Obama embracing the vulgar race hustler Al Sharpton. President Obama once eloquently confronted race in a memorable speech in Philadelphia in 2008. That speech was remarkable and honest and, to borrow a favorite word of the political left that still fawns over him, it was nuanced. But there was nothing particularly remarkable about Obama standing next to the preening Sharpton, speaking in New York to his National Action Network. Except that Obama expertly used a message of victimization to begin energizing black voters, who provide the electoral foundation for the Democratic Party.

The replacement of Kathleen Sebelius by Sylvia Mathews Burwell as the Secretary of Health and Human Services has been portrayed by the legacy “news” media as a new lease on life for Obamacare. The party line is that Sebelius was mortally wounded by GOP exploitation of a single uncharacteristic mistake—the botched rollout of Healthcare.gov—while Burwell is a brilliant Beltway veteran unsullied by controversy and possessing the very administrative skills needed to save Obama’s “signature domestic achievement.” (snip) This tale fails to conform to the facts, however.

Last Tuesday, our President swaggered into the Rose Garden to announce that 7.1 million people have signed up for health coverage through Obamacare’s exchanges and that all further argument about the future of his “signature domestic achievement” was pointless: “The debate over repealing this law is over. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay.” The problem with this claim is that no one with a basic grasp of arithmetic believes Obama’s enrollment figures, only about a quarter of the electorate supports his “reform” law, and it is still the target of multiple lawsuits challenging its constitutionality.

A new survey reveals that public esteem for Obamacare is continuing to plummet, hitting yet another historic low. (snip) The AP survey shows that a mere “26 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act.” (snip) When the law was passed, 39 percent of the public supported it. But the President, along with his accomplices in Congress and the media, assured us that this percentage would rise once “reform” was implemented. In other words, Obama and his minions are no better at prognostication than they are at managing websites, insurance exchanges or anything else relating to health care.

One of the reasons Clarence Thomas gives for the studious silence he maintains during Supreme Court hearings is that his fellow justices have shown an increasing tendency to talk too much during oral arguments, thus preventing advocates from presenting their arguments coherently. Yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius suggest that Thomas is right. Paul D. Clement, who appeared on behalf of the two companies challenging the Obamacare contraception mandate, was repeatedly interrupted and badgered by justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ginsburg.

The most febrile of George W. Bush haters liked to claim during his tenure that the former president "scared" them. There is far more reason to be frightened by President Barack Obama, because fecklessness and inconstancy trigger wars. The outstanding example of weakness inviting aggression was the conduct of the democracies toward Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Though it has been retroactively tainted as shameful cowardice, the policy of appeasement grew out of a "war weariness" that was far more understandable than our own. Britain and France suffered millions of dead and wounded in World War I and were desperate to

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come
