Putin the Peacemaker vs.
Obama the Warmonger

American Thinker, by James Lewis

Original Article

President Obama has now sabotaged four decades of stability in the Middle East. First he pulled down the biggest pillar of peace, the Mubarak regime in Egypt; then he bombed Libya into the Dark Ages; and now he has paraded "My Army" and "My Navy" against the Assad regime in Syria, which is just as evil as the rebels. The one thing Obama has never faced honestly is what everybody knows to be the real threat -- namely mullahs with nukes. In the strangest twist of history, it is Obama the radical leftist who is now acting as the destabilizing warmonger in

It´s not so strange. BJ did the same for the muslims of Kosovo and Bosnia, bombing Christians so muslims could take control. It seems to be a leftist stratagy. Many of the muslims were illegal alien Albanians, who arrived in such numbers that they eventually took over. I wonder if that is the same plan for America.

Ah, the twists and turns of politics. That´s what makes it interesting. I like to call it "soap opera for men". (I know, I know, more women are getting involved - but go with me on this just a bit.)

Role reversal is part of the "fun". But that is because Art Linkletter was right: people are funny. One could argue that we were put here for God´s amusement. The objective, however, is to have our "fun" without killing or maiming too many other people.

In regard to the latter: let us not forget that the opposite of "peace through strength" is "war through weakness". However, in Billy Jeff´s tradition: we must understand the meaning of "weakness". Reagan was strong, but he negotiated with and worked with Gorbachev to wind down the Cold War.

These things can get complicated - that´s what makes it fun.

As to Lewis´ point: our "weakness" is really our desire to have as little to do with - and get the hell out of - the Middle East. That is Putin´s back yard, not ours. The Monroe Doctrine did not include the Middle East. Now that we have discovered shale oil and fracking: we can. But wait .. what about Israel? More fun.

For more than 160 years, Henry David Thoreau´s essay on Civil Disobedience has inspired Americans to "make known what kind of government would command his respect" so that we could live under that government in good conscience. Ultimately, in a free society, that´s all we have that is truly our own; our conscience. Following its dictates, says Thoreau, is the only rational way to live your life and be true to oneself. It had been years since I read Civil Disobedience and I was surpised by how Cliven Bundy´s words echoed many of the theses in the essay. Legal experts overwhelmingly agree

A Soros-funded nonprofit New Yorker magazine called “one of the most important radical environmental groups in the country” has issued a statement denouncing the Bureau of Land Management‘s (BLM) decision to back away from a showdown with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and hundreds of supporters. A scientist for The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) blasted BLM saying the federal agency “has a sacred duty to manage our public lands in the public interest…instead it is allowing a freeloading rancher and armed thugs to seize hundreds of thousands of acres of the people’s land as their own fiefdom.” CBD is funded by Earthjustice

Last week we witnessed repeated efforts by Democrats to polarize the country along racial lines. Alas, another reporter asked me the same question I have been repeatedly asked for the past five years. “As an African-American, why are you a member of the Tea Party?” It dawned on me to ask the reporter, “If you are a thinking patriotic American, why are you not a member of the Tea Party?” It is stunning that reporters cannot see the absurdity and racism against white voters in their assumption that Tea Party membership (pushback against Obama's agenda) equals racism. For the first time in U.S. history, are Americans required to submit to their president's agenda or suffer the mainstream media and Democratic party branding an R on

One of the guidelines of liberal propaganda is that if you are going to lie, lie big. Global warming, Obamacare, Romney’s a heartless guy. Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.
