Why Obama is Floundering
American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 9/9/2013 4:20:09 AM

The sheer ineptitude of President Obama´s handling of his Syria red line has made jaws drop all across the political spectrum. The man who garnered so much admiration for his oratorical brilliance, personal charm, and political genius has managed to make matters worse with every step he has taken. This dramatic and historic collapse demands explanation. It must be acknowledged from the start that Obama might now be the victim of unrealistic expectations stoked by his media allies, who once called him a "lightworker" and "almost a god." But then again, when you promise to stem the rise of the oceans,

How could anyone think through the implications of their words or deeds when they´ve never been held accountable for anything. The only thing undetermined at this time, as far as I´m concerned, is who he´s going to be assigning blame to.

A grilled blackened flounder with a little lemon juice and tarter sauce is a diner´s delight. Bon Appetit This is on Mo´s approved list, is it not? Healthy fish, just a tad on the the toxic side from all that sludge.

This explains him in a nutshell.

"Throughout his life he has benefitted from norms concerning race. To merely criticize him has been to be called a racist by his supporters until fairly recently. His media supporters have enforced norms against investigating too closely into his past. Borne of collective guilt over the nation´s past, these norms have served to advance Barack Obama´s political career at warp speed. His empty résumé, full of titles and no actual accomplishments, was accepted with no questions asked.
Thank you, Mr. Lifson...well said.

Not so much floundering as halibutting.

Why? Because the word halibut comes from haly (holy) and butt (flatfish). So what we´re really seeing now is that everyone is finally coming to the realization that the President so many thought (hoped desperately?) was almost holy, a god, has turned out to be nothing more than a flatfish (dark on one side, white on the other) who has only one eye and can therefore only see where his dark side is taking him. Hangs around with various groupers and flukes. Eventually gets caught by bigger, smarter, tougher things.

Halibutting. Or, if you now prefer, as I do, Holy Butt.

After reading (yet again) the phrase, ...once called him a "lightworker" and "almost a god."..., I´ve come to the realization that the statement is actually (really!) true. Zero is really a light worker. Turns out he is almost a god. For those wondering, yes, I mean really very far from being a god. So ´almost a god´ would actually be true in this case. And, ´light worker´? One must only look at his work ethic and habits, from what we´ve seen.

For years he has railed against the war in Iraq being justified on the basis of WMD which he claimed didn´t exist. Now he wants to enter a civil war, claiming that Assad used a WMD against civilians. In the last several days it has become more and more clear that he has no evidence that gas was released by the Assad´s forces. The only people who look more stupid than Obama are McCain and Lindsay Graham.

This whole Syria mess started when somebody took away Obama´s teleprompter and he kept yapping on about a red line. Now he can´t admit that was foolish so he has to attack Syria to save face. Nothing he can do will make him look good. Didn´t Saddam use chemical weapons against his own people! Everyone admitted this was true but Obama opposed that war anyway. Now he is starting another war with no real evidence it was Assad who used the chemical weapons! The hypocritical peaceniks are all keeping quiet so they discredit themselves. Obama is a vacation from reality but reality cannot be avoided forever.

Obama has flounded from day one.
There has been nothing he has done in 5 years that was correct for good of The USA.
There are 3 reasons for this.
1 He is incompetent.
2 He is delusional and would require physiological help if he were not the president.
3 Because of his blacknessh, he dislikes the USA and wants to destroy it and bring it back as a communist country. Somehow most blacks feel they will be equal at last, under a communist leadership.

There is only one source accountable for the debacle in the White House- the legacy media. BHO was "their guy" from the get-go. You pick the reason. It doesn´t matter. They shamefully refused to hold him accountable for his background and lack of resume and experience. They still do. If the Fourth Estate had done their job,we would never be in this mess.

Obambi´s inexperience, ineptitude, ego and stupidity are about to get a lot of people, including Americans, killed. Carter was a coward and was afraid to do anything. The benefit was very few Americans actually got killed (the raid being the largest loss of life). Reagan sent Marines into a civil war and got a lot of American’s killed. But the USSR stayed out of that one.

Putin isn’t about to let Obambi make him look like a girlie man and the Muzzies are just itching for any excuse to unleash total jihad on America. And nincompoop Obambi is just the guy to unleash the apocalypse. We all thought the anti-Christ would be some evil genius. Turns out all it takes is a blithering idiot to start the apocalypse.

This is absolutely the BEST I have seen explaining Obama. He may be an ideologue, but he is also, primarily, a narcissist of the lst order, and has never ever been held to the standards most would face, plus he is absolutely sure he can talk his way out of anything---it worked with Chris Matthews, didn´t it? Thus his talk to the American people tomorrow night, trying to put meat on his red line off prompter error and save face---at the cost of how many lives? Rand Paul, who said Obama is more"concerned" about Syria than he is about Americans dying in Benghazi (the next morning he left on a political junket) ,hit it right on the head. I have no plans to watch our President tomorrow night. It is all face saving on his part, a blunder he is trying to work his way out of.

It´s the big lie theory in work. Someone without the minimal qualifications is touted to be supremely qualified.

Setting ideological issues aside, the common theme or pattern with our President is that he doesn´t do his homework. I suspect that would be consistent with his academic history but that´s not open for examination. I suspect he was never required to do his homework in the past so why expect it now?

I think it was Marion Barry who said that Jesse Jackson has never run anything but his mouth. Perhaps he should now change the reference to Fauxbama. When confronted with actual responsibility, his default position is to shift the work to other people. If they fail, they take the blame. If they succeed, he takes the credit. Ultimately, he is a very small man.

Tomorrow night Obama will be hailed as a nuanced thinker who is playing chess while his opponents are playing checkers. We´ve seen all this before. The media will say he is courageous to risk his presidency for the courage of his convictions. If you think they are going to let him fail, you have another think coming. They are "this" close to achieving their goal of destroying this country in the eyes of the world, so they must be salivating. The only tricky issue they have is how to blame the Republicans for everything when this all goes south as it will. Here is where Boehner, McCain and Graham come into play. They will give Obama cover as useful idiots.

Is it a trend? Time will tell, but Obama is quite happy with what he has done so far. He still can call racism in a heartbeat and the media will just swoon.

He has been protected by his race; leftist actor Ed Asner recently admitted, "A lot of people don´t want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama."

Only people for whom race is a big issue will even think about "feeling anti-black". I don´t know a single conservative who believes that race matters but who believe competency and honor matter. Why is the Left so hung up about black people and how they feel? Or is it that somehow, only leftists feel white guilt? I can´t quite figure this out.

Obama was able to check the résumé box of academic position at a prestigious university without ever actually defending a thesis, presenting or publishing an academic paper, or even engaging in faculty lounge discussions. He was a loner, outside the faculty social group at the University of Chicago.

...and how he rose so fast with this pitiful resume` remains a mystery.

His empty résumé, full of titles and no actual accomplishments, was accepted with no questions asked.

...solely because he is black and erudite. Utterly lacking wisdom, humility and real-life experience, but he speaks well. How shallow a criterion by which to judge whether or not someone is fit to be our POTUS.

Not only is Barack Obama unprepared for the responsibilities that lie on his shoulders, he has no experiential base to use as a referent.

I do not believe his psyche can tolerate the notion that he is not the person he and his admirers think he is.

Because of the USA´s past racial history Barack Obama has been given every advantage and pass imaginable by a lot of Americans who still feel racial guilt, along with the liberal US media that refuses to report any factors, no matter how serious, that might be looked upon as disparaging the first black President by a lot of his supporters.

Abroad as Omaha is finding out it is not like that, because over much of the world that is populated by people who might be classified as ethnic or racial minorities if they were in the USA, see him as just another blundering politician who happens to have black skin.

Remember - he doesn´t need a coherent policy, just a string of cliques that sounds good to the lo-fo´s when read from a teleprompter.

This man is the personification of the pitfalls of affirmative action.

Based solely on his race, he was catapulted into the higher echelons of Ivy League (which we now know is a bunch of bs or most of us have already known for decades), then through some weird sort of way through patronage to obtain public offices up to the presidency.

Both Chauncey Gardener (Being There) and Bill Mitchell (Dave) posed as presidents and were way more intelligent and clued in than this poser-in-chief. And they were actors in films.

And, they label Reagan as a bafoon and Nixon a crook?

Hello? Nixon did the unimaginable with China at the most sour time with relations with the US, and Reagan changed the geography of the globe with the elimination of communism.

What has this moron done? Let me count the ways:

Destroyed long standing decades of good will with our allies. Embraced and emboldened our enemies which are too numerous to count. Annihilated our military and national security. Nationalized the very core of our personal privacy, to rival Stalin, and made racism the most important issue of his reign.

Those who supported, financed and voted for this amazing idiot are to be blamed for exactly the nightmare we are living. And that goes for the spineless Repubs who do nothing to expel this imposter. Oh wait...do not want to be called racist.

And worse, we have to face 8 more years of his policies under HRC, where every one will vote for her because they do not want to be labeled sexist. On the up side, at least Bill will be pulling the strings under her skirt (tenure) and he bests BO.

And so we have arrived that this, two competing and exactly opposite assessments of the Obama in the Ldot Must Reads. In one article we have Mr. Podhoretz´s Obama, the brilliant destroyer of America masterfully executing his diabolical plan. On the other, we have Mr. Lifson´s Obama, a self-deluded windbag of little talent and even less accomplishment who thinks giving a speech IS solving a problem.

So, what is this Obama? There is so much evidence for either that one might go mad trying to sift it. So how about this: perhaps both are correct. Perhaps the Obama is something different. Something new. A brilliant destroyer, masquerading as a buffoon. A devil in a dunce cap. The greater the salesman, the more outrageous the lie he can sell.

FTA:He is entirely unaccustomed to the notion that he cannot talk his way out of a problem, that he can´t finesse those who oppose him with more words.

The minute I read the above, the song "Show Me" from the Broadway musical My Fair Lady came to mind.

I think a large percentage of Americans now feel like Eliza Doolittle at this point when she sang "Show Me"
Words, words, words
I´m so sick of words
I get words all day through.....

Never do I ever want to hear another word
There isn´t one, I haven´t heard
Here we are together in what ought to be a dream
Say one more word and I´ll scream

Unfortunately, there is no musical tune to enjoy with Obama´s words - it´s now just words.

SANTA FE, N.M. —A national political magazine has released secret audio recordings of Gov. Susana Martinez, and it’s causing quite a reaction both here in New Mexico as well as across the country.Mother Jones penned an article recently that asked if Martinez was the next Sarah Palin. The article featured several recordings of the governor. Some believe what Martinez is heard saying could jeopardize her political aspirations. The recordings were published by Mother Jones, who said they’re from four years ago. The reporter said his article sheds light on a side of Martinez the public has never seen before, a

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Vice President Joe Biden really did get ahead of President Barack Obama on accepting gay marriage in 2012 — and the White House really wasn’t happy about it, despite the two leaders’ many attempts to claim otherwise. That’s the story laid out in Jo Becker’s new book, “Forcing the Spring,” which documents the past few years of successful efforts to expand the legalization of gay marriage, according to an advance copy obtained by POLITICO. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

President Obama said Wednesday that Russia realizes the U.S. military is “significantly superior” to its own and does not want war with the United States. Asked in an interview with CBS News about a Russian fighter buzzing a U.S. Navy ship in the Black Sea on Saturday, Obama said, “They’re not interested in any kind of military confrontation with us, understanding that our conventional forces are significantly superior to the Russians.” Obama accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being behind uprisings in Ukraine in which government buildings have been taken over. Ukraine’s government has launched an operation against the separatists

AUSTIN, Tex. — The last nine months of Rick Perry’s tenure as the longest-serving governor of Texas were supposed to be a political victory lap. Greg Abbott, the Republican state attorney general, and Wendy Davis, the Democratic state senator, both of whom are vying to replace Mr. Perry, have been sparring across Texas. Meanwhile Mr. Perry has been traveling the country and the world promoting the robust Texas economy and bolstering his national profile as he considers another run for president in 2016. GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE—Victims of the 9/11 terror attacks expressed shock that the FBI may be meddling in the hearings here, and some speculated that it is part of an effort by the Obama administration to completely derail the hearings and force them into federal court stateside. Families of those killed in the 9/11 terror attacks traveled here with the intent of watching their family members’ accused killers face justice. However, many say they were horrified earlier this week when pre-trial hearings came to a halt over revelations that the FBI had launched an investigation into the accused terrorist’s defense

The rally at the Hy-Vee Conference Center will feature Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer, Iowa´s Lieutenant Gov. It will likely also make it difficult for Democrats to use the "war on women" card in Iowa. State Senator Ernst gained national recognition for

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,
