Barack Obama’s delusions of grandeur:
compares Syria intervention to
fighting World War Two

Telegraph [UK], by Nile Gardiner

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 9/8/2013 12:33:28 AM

A key part of President Obama’s press conference in St. Petersburg last Friday went largely under the radar in the US media--his bizarre analogy between the crisis in Syria, and the London Blitz. [Snip] Those kinds of interventions, these kinds of actions are always unpopular, because they seem distant and removed. And I want to make sure I’m being clear. I’m not--I’m not drawing an analogy to World War II, other than to say when London was getting bombed, it was profoundly unpopular, both in Congress and around the country, to help the British.

Comments:
He´ll be comparing himself to Churchill next.

Egads!

He´s got to be kidding. This is nothing like WWII and the alphagoof knows it. He is really grasping at the teensiest of straws here.
Problem is, there are people who would probably fall for it.
He has been so unmanned by his own behavior on the world stage, it is getting pathetic.

Obama is having an FDR moment where a failed presidency was transformed by WWII. FDR´s socialist policies did nothing but deepen and prolong the depression and his successful legacy gave the progressive movement a foothold in every facet of our government. The entire industrialized world was decimated by the war and the US was the only country left standing. This bozo in the White House is going for the full monte. The Time magazine front cover of Obama with FDR´s hat and cigarette holder was too prophetic.

Alright already.

stinky is now clearly out of control.

Not that he ever did, but he now obviously and demonstrably knows nothing about which he speaks, and this is putting all of us on planet earth in a truly dangerous situation.

He probably digs it, the rotten little creep.

The once-free world will need heavy horses to re-plow the once free ground trampled and ruined by the likes of stinky.

I´m old; I´ll be long gone before my Country recovers from this nightmare, but I´m hopeful.
Sort of.

I haven´t seen or heard much from punch drunk Biden on all this. He´s usually Obama´s number one sap when it comes to him pushing the latest Obama blather. It was disturbing to see Robert Gates come out in favor of this.Maybe they have a file on him too.I´d like to hear Colin Powell´s take on it.Of course Powell will never live down the shame of the UN presentation.

When I heard Obama say this the other day,it sounded more like a jab at FDR for his foot dragging in WWII.I think FDR was afraid of the big media at the time was very anti-war.Forget bombing England,FDR was well aware of the internment camps way before the Japanese struck Pearl Harbour and that wasn´t enough.

Just like an episode of the Outer Limits,Obama will seize control of your TV remote so you´ll be forced to watch his pitch on this Tues, night. Couldn´t do it Monday because it would upset the NFL.

He has been getting away with revising history and knocking over straw men now for five years, as most of his constituency does not have a clue, along with the fact that the liberal US media gives him a pass every time.

If the War on Syria is World War II, then pro-Assad operatives who enter the US dressed as civilians to blow stuff up and their supporters are not terrorists but resistance fighters. These are harder to deal with than uniformed fighters or drones. The resistance fighters have on their side the propaganda view of blown up civilians and weeping relatives.

Barry did not learn American history as a child. He learned Islamic history. Which is precisely why he is so interested in multiple civil wars in the middle east and Africa. He believes he is in power "for such a time as this".
Only an idiot would compare entering World War II to save an ally, with starting World War III to save an enemy.

While all this is taking attention, the Obama Administration has stealthily used "stimulus" money on the nation´s governors.. to put in place Common Core, a federal take-over to indoctrinate America´s children. Obamacare, with its already-appointed death panel will get rid of the elderly who know history, while Obamacore will brainwash the youth. Remember Hitler´s Youth Program that had students turning their parents in for criticizing government? This is the long-range threat -- call your legislators to get Common Core thrown out!

Obama never studied nor ever learned the most important lesson of WWII...there are real enemies trying to kill us and if you go to war, you don´t do it to send a message or save your credibility, you do it to kill them and keep killing them until they are all dead or the ones who are left don´t have the capacity or the will to continue. It´s called "winning."

While our President has been playing spades and golf all summer, Putin has been moving political and military pieces into place and is ready to run the board on Syria to what will certainly be a checkmate of President Obama.

The king piece sought by Putin is a bilateral Congressional rejection of Obama and subsequent stand down from Syrian intervention. This would be more than an extreme embarrassment for President Obama but would also collapse political support for him both domestically and overseas. Russia and its allied states Iran, Syria and soon possibly Egypt (a long-time Soviet ally in days past) would gain a vastly greater free hand to pursue their regional interests with little threat of a neutered Obama administration.

Like any good chess player, Putin is thinking four turns ahead of Obama who seems to not even know what game he is playing. The moves that Putin has made have every appearance of a man who has a very good read on his opponent, his weaknesses and technical ability, and he moves with utter confidence.

Suppose South Africa, backed by Russia accused the U.S. of genocide by encouraging and financing abortion, mostly among the poor and minorities? Using women´s health as an alibi. They could furnish countless pictures and political speeches to prove these atrocities, since the decadent U.S. is proud of this policy. Then we deserve a "surgical" strike of abortion mills. Of course there would be unfortunate "collateral damage" of teen age victims who happened to be in the "clinics" at the time. Maybe that´s why the majority of people interviewed want us to butt out of the Mideast Obama and the libs have no excuse for righteous indignation.

#4, Hubby reminded me of BO as Ronald Reagan... that was an abomination and insult to President Reagan.

I´m wondering when Time will feature BO as George W. Bush?

#16, i wish i could have clicked the "Like" line on your comment ad infinitum...

#16, At first i thought you had written that FLOTUS ought to be ON the Front Lines.

As for FDR´s vacillation, his LeftWing was pretty much in the bag for the Soviets, at least from 1939 when Germany and the USSR signed the "NAZI-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact". Regular messages from Stalin were relayed by his agents nestled in the USA.

So, when Hitler turned on and invaded the USSR, the American Bolsheviks didn´t know what to do, because they had been agitating on the anti-war front. Thereafter, they got the orders to make an about-face, and were "all in" for crushing Hitler, et al.

The moral of the story (or one of them) is that the Left, and BO as its head, has no moral core. The End is all that matters. This is why Lefties get so confused and self-contradictory.

Meanwhile, Wednesday is one year after Benghazi 9/11... BO has made NO response to this atrocity, this act of war, except to lie. ...and EVERYONE in that part of the world remembers... and some of us here remember AND care.

yeah, he has delusions of grandeur, alright

#1 Pathetic little man and reference to Churchill . Obama was so quick to get rid of Churchills Bust which was given to the US people.I will be brief, there is so many reasons we should not bomb Syria. On Fox News every weekend they have Susan Estrich an ex MA political hack presently teaching left wing mush to the next generation in CA. She said we have to support Obama to maintain his credibility. The host just looked at her said nothing like a dried prune. Heavens forbid this occupant of the WH lost his credibilty evening of 9/11 , it´s going on a year and the american people still do not know what this fly boy was doing when 4 American citizens were being murdered. Also all the people who survived the Benghazi consulate raid are still gagged. Syrian rebels have occupied Christian villages and paraded nuns through the steets time out . Obama is siding with this unscrupalous bunch of terrorists.Time out .Use of gas in wartime should be banned and the law enforced by a National World Body to enforce the penalty.( Forget the UN.

Remember that obnoxious little kid in your neighborhood, way back when, who loved starting fights, or calling others names on the playground but who was incapable - himself - of fighting his way out of a paper bag?

But, remember too - he almost always had an older, bigger, tougher brother or friend who was a bully himself and was always somewhere close (or could be the next day or so), to protect his little brother and avenge whatever harm came to him, or was threatened- as a result of his misdeeds?. No matter what he did...his big bubba would take care of it, so everyone was rather intimidated and were careful not to make this obnoxious twit too mad, for fear of the dire consequences?

Summary: His ´blackness´ is Obama´s protective big bubba. So far, it´s served him well during his disastrous presidency.

What is Vladimir Putin’s game? The recent unrest in eastern Ukraine has been presented by the Kremlin as an autonomous phenomenon, an upsurge of patriotic feeling among embattled ethnic Russians who long for the protection of the Motherland against what they see as a neo-nationalist regime in Kiev. It may be true that the initial impulse came from locals acting without Russia’s direct involvement. But it is becoming clear that, just as in Crimea, many of the “separatists” are not just taking their orders from Moscow, but are very probably Russian troops in paper-thin disguise. Ed Miliband says he wants to be Britain’s “first Jewish PM”. He apparently has no ambitions to be its most historically informed. As any fule kno, Benjamin Disrael--one of the greatest PMs there ever was--was Jewish. Yes, he converted to Christianity. But Ed Miliband doesn’t even believe in God and describes himself as a “Jewish atheist”--so we’re talking about ethnic identity here, not religion. And Disraeli was keenly aware of his ethnicity, calling himself "the blank page between the Old Testament and the New". He said that he regarded the Christian church as "the only Jewish institution that remains

The political Twittersphere erupted into guffaws Saturday after a women´s lifestyle magazine published a soft profile of ABC journalist Claire Shipman--the wife of White House Press Secretary Jay Carney--and applied ham-fisted Photoshop edits to a photo of the family bookshelf. Now it´s not so empty. [Snip] A dozen or more cut-and-paste operations later, 12-year-old Hugo Carney´s left pinky finger wound up halfway across the room, left behind when a book jacket was cloned. That´s just the most obvious edit. MailOnline found 12 separate Photoshop edits, each involving replacing a blank space with a book, leaving readers

The percentage of family doctors supporting the UK Independence Party has surged from 0.3 percent at the last general election to a new high of 7.3 percent, almost double the amount planning to vote Liberal Democrat. The figures, compiled by GP magazine, also show a sharp decline in Conservative support. At the last election, they were easily the most popular party, with 45 percent of General Practitioners (GPs) planning to vote for them. Now, just 16.6 percent continue to back the party. Labour are now the most popular party among GPs, although they still only have 18.4 percent support. This may

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) has hit a record high ComRes poll rating, as the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties both drop points. UKIP is now polling at 20 percent, while Britain´s traditional third party, the Liberal Democrats, have sunk to just 7. The Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror poll shows Labour (35 percent) increasing its lead to six points over the Conservative Party (29 percent), with the libertarian, small-government UKIP hot on the heels of Cameron´s party following the resignation of cabinet minister Maria Miller last week. The poll results also reflect the two debate victories that UKIP leader Nigel

Over the last couple of days, the internet security community has been rocked by a truly gargantuan bug, which has been named "Heartbleed" by the researchers who have discovered it. It´s been described as "catastrophic", "apocalyptic" and "the single biggest f––– up in the history of the Internet." [Snip] To break it down, you know all those websites where they have a little padlock at the bottom to show they are secure? You know, the websites for your online banking, your email, your social media accounts, your online shopping? Well, up to one sixth of those have in fact not

Who throws a shoe? Honestly! That would be 36-year-old Alison Ernst of Phoenix, Arizona, who was charged Thursday night with disorderly conduct by the Las Vegas Police Department after allegedly throwing a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to NBC News, who spoke with a Secret Service official, the U.S. Attorney’s office has declined federal prosecution. Ernst was wearing shoes on Thursday night when she attended a speech Clinton was giving in Las Vegas, but apparently brought an extra one specifically to throw at the former secretary of state. The official said the incident appeared to be “premeditated.”

Many Americans have been watching with great consternation the ongoing struggle between the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Marshals against Cliven Bundy and his family. There are no signs of either side relinquishing their position. Many onlookers have been informed that this dispute is over protecting the desert tortoise. But it is nothing of the sort. In fact, the reality of the dispute goes far underneath what is being talked about. The more appropriate source of the dispute is ground water as well as surface water -- this is a war over water. Cliven Bundy and his

A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters. Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally. Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a "range war" against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is now accusing the Keystone pipeline of being a cancer risk. Her first point was that the pipeline “will bring 830,000 barrels of dirty tar sands oil into our nation every day.” She then segued to point #2 by asserting that the heavy tar sands oil will put people who live near refineries at risk for cancer: Significantly higher levels of dangerous air pollutants and carcinogens have been documented downwind from tar sands refineries, and in these areas people are suffering higher rates of the types of cancers linked to these toxic chemicals, including leukemia and

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so

They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. Barack Obama won the presidency because in an election where the premium was on change, it mattered little

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

Say what you will about Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), but they know a train wreck when they see it. They also know when to separate themselves from the cranks and the losers on the right. Although both supported the shutdown and were heartily supported by tea party groups in their own Senate races, neither one has endorsed Matt Bevin in Kentucky, Milton Wolf in Kansas or Chris McDaniel in Mississippi. In fact, Cruz’s office confirms he hasn’t endorsed anyone in the primaries. He may weigh in after the primaries. Rand Paul has endorsed two very establishment

A brazen flash mob has been caught on camera storming a California store and making off with $20,000 worth of sunglasses. Surveillance footage shows eight women piling into a Sunglass Hut and crowding around display cases. Shielding workers from what they´re doing, they quickly stuff dozens of fashion specs into their bags. A store clerk pleads with them to stop, before running out of the shot to get help and dial 911. The thieves then all bolt outside and escape in a waiting SUV. The incident occurred at the Valencia Town Center mall, in Santa Clarita, at 3 p.m. on

It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it. Democrats hope to retain control of the Senate and recapture the House by driving
