The woman whose opinion lawmakers are relying on to go to war in Syria is also a paid advocate for the war-torn country’s rebels. On Wednesday, Secretary of State John Kerry encouraged members of the House of Representatives to read a Wall Street Journal op-ed by 26-year-old Elizabeth O’Bagy — an analyst with the Institute for the Study of War — who asserted that concerns about extremists dominating among the Syrian rebels are unfounded. “Contrary to many media accounts, the war in Syria is not being waged entirely, or even predominantly, by dangerous Islamists and al-Qaida die-hards,” O’Bagy wrote for the Journal
Comments: Bret Baier discussed this on Fox last night. Fox has used her, too, without knowing this background.
This is appalling. Why in the name of heaven is anyone listening to a 26 year-old anything about matters as grave as this. Then to find out this woman (girl) is deeply engaged with muslim factions and can´t possibly be objective in her own assessments. This is just the kind of seditious cr*p we should expect from this administration.
Isn´t this an interesting turn of events? So we can´t trust our government to shoot straight with us. Kerry and McCain are cut from the same cloth. They are both ruling elites, and they both used their military service as a leg up in politics. McCain is a war monger and I can´t for the life of me understand why considering his background. His opinion on anything should be suspect, but his opinion on anything having to do with going to war should be immediately rejected. They both have an agenda and it is not one that is good for this country.
A 26 year old girl wise in the ways of war and Arabs in the Middle East where women are considered furniture is advising our "leaders" on military strategy. Oakey dokey then... Putin was right about the monkey with a hand grenade comment!
With me, mccain (and little brother graham) have sunk to the level of democrat traitors. When their mugs appear on the tv screen, I either flip channels or hit mute. Not original, but obama, kerry, hagel and mccain really are the axis of weasel.
I watched this pretty girl yesterday on C Span, and wondered at the time how she could speak with such great confidence as to the composition of the rebel forces. She went so far as to say, or intimate, that Al Quaeda was almost non existent, and that the rebels would be allies of the u.s. amazing.
she´s been all over Fox. Very attractive. Very young. Well spoken, glib even. Yesterday someone - perhaps Cavuto - called her out on her position, opinions and source of funding. She kept saying that her only source of income was as a ´´contractor´´. That´s a very fluid term...
Gee, this "woman" is not even old enough to be off her parents´ health insurance policy!
In one instance, the Obama administration wants us to believe that she is a "child" and must be supported by her parents at age 26. In another, we are supposed to listen to this person as some kind of "expert" at age 26.
Wonder when she picked up her 10,000 hours toward expertise in war, al Qaeda, and Syrian rebels?
This is going to be one informative vote coming up on Syria ... Per Republicans it will differentiate and expose all the political elitists with ties to big Gov, to the war machine (NSA, CIA, etc..) vs. the true conservatives (less Government). Per the democrats it will expose the political power grabbers at any cost with NO ethics (for Obo) vs. the "true" liberals who are against intervening ... Interesting, Interesting!
#25, the Constitutional separation of powers has it that the Commander in Chief is in charge of management of the military ~ in peace and in war, although only Congress can declare war or call up the militia.
So, a True Conservative, in your mind, can´t be in favor of national defense and the use of huge, colossal even, thermonuclear warheads mounted on really big rockets owned by, Voila, the federal gub´mnt?
That we´ve gotta´ be in favor of small gub´mnt, not simply our federal system, with little Delaware and Rhode Island out there conducting foreign affairs and fighting their own wars?
Can I say that sounds like the ruminations of a 26 year old ~ just like the one we are talking about ~ someone who might even be an acrobatic ballerina pole dancer just like Snowden´s little co-worker?
Well, can I?
If you really want small, not just divided government ruled under constitutional principles, you can´t be a Conservative! We are realists and know there are bad guys in the world who´d murder us in the bed and fry our chillun´ for breakfast! We know they must be stopped. Assad is quite possibly not among that crowd, but there are others ~ lots of them.
Mooseface John Kerry the pacifist, anti-war, liberal demonstrator from the 60s getting his advice from a 26 year old muslim radical on thoughts of war. What a dupe. If this group of Washington yahoos had been around in 1940 we would certainly be doomed to defeat by Hitler and the Japanese. Just the fact that John McCain was playing cards on his cell phone tells me these jerkweeds are not serious. Not one dime or drop of American blood should be wasted on this middle east civil war. Bomb Iran if you have save face with the help of Israel. Ihat would get their attention.
On the one hand, Mr. Obama has chosen this pro-Syrian-rebel woman to parcel out information to his administration. On the other hand, he has Valerie Jarrett ordering him to stand down during critical moments requiring immediate US military response in our national interest. Is it any wonder this President always appears to waffle, to be ineffectual, indecisive, and without any core character principle?
Hey, McCain, and the rest of the wizards of smart, how about calling the NSA or your crack investigators, or even Google this woman, instead of playing poker while someone is briefing you? I appreciate his ability to multitask but it irks me that a topic so vital to national security bores this man so much that he amuses himself with poker while being advised. And we trust him? Sorry but his is the man who was captured and tortured, and glad he survived but clearly not one to show us how to evade and beat the enemy. Write about your experience and go home. We need hawks not dumbbells.
I don´t believe it´s any mystery that our government has been infiltrated by Muslim sympathizers. People have been writing same for about 10 years and while the warnings signs were there, no one seems to have had the incentive to do much about it.
Now we reap the whirlwind. Thank God some of these infiltrators, advocates of Sharia Law in America, are slowly being revealed.
One would think by now we´d be a tad cautious about vetting people. Obama´s "czars" are bad enough, but now we´ve got children advising Senators and Presidents how to further the cause of Islam in America.
Kerry, of all people, should know not to trust the opinion of a 26 year old:
Breitbart.com - September 2, 2013:
After Medea Benjamin of Code Pink broke into the hearing yelling anti-war arguments, Secretary Kerry retorted, “The first time I testified before this committee, when I was 27 years old, I had very similar feelings to that protester.”
Holy smoke! I watched Bret interview her on Fox the other day as a Syria expert and was thoroughly unimpressed. She was so bad I figured it must have been Bring Your Daughter To Work Day at Fox, and wondered who she was related to. She was stringing together these long, incoherent sentences that made no sense whatsoever. Very "what I did last summer." Very embarrassing. Very sophomoric.
I also understand the SETF organized McCain´s recent Syria trip. Who paid for it, since they are advocates for the rebels? And the ISW is worth a close look as well. Hardly a disinterested bystander.
When I saw this babe on Fox, I was amazed that she was being touted as some kind of authority on the rebel groups. She looked like an American but something was really off.
Then I heard her on the radio the next day as her assessment was being replayed. At that point "hearing" made me very suspicious because of her pronunciation of certain words - she did self-correct but not before I was truly alarmed. My question is: where was she educated?
By her Western appearance and her ability to speak English, I concluded that she is trying to pass herself off as an American, much like Valerie Jarrett. Hope McPain catches on that he´s being toyed with.
Dr. Kimberly Kagen started the Institute for the Study of War in 2007, according to their website. She is "a military historian who has taught at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Yale, Georgetown, and American University." I always enjoyed her pieces in the Wall Street Journal. But, I´m with the earlier poster. That place should be looked into.
So this 26 year old O´Bagy lady comes out of the woodwork and calls for the USA to effectively conduct military operations in Syria.
Who is this lady, is she even a US citizen? I smelled a whiff of Canada in her speaking style. She is obviously an agent for some foreign groups. It is up to the media to find all that out and report it.
The political mantra that came out of Chicago, but pretty much universally applies, is "we don´t want nobody nobody sent."
So, who sent O´Bagy? Who is her sponsor? Who vetted her? If she is "informing" US policy in Syria we are entitled to know.
She is credited with having studied at the American University in Cairo, but I can find no degree. Now she is reported to be in a joint MA/PhD program at Georgetown. But who are her parents? Where did she grow up? How did she come to study at the American University in Cairo? Is she even an American citizen? And is O´Bagy her real name, or is it something else trying to sound Western, like O´Bama would be? Is it really Obaji?
I saw her on FOX the other day and listened intently for some hint of an accent as I was certain she was a shill for Hamas or AlQaeda. And so she is. When oh when will our dear leaders ever learn that the Islamists are taught to LIE and decive when it is to their benefit. They are not engaging with the same rules the "western" world is accustomed to. Washington is a pack of fools!
Washington,DC–The Syrian Emergency Task Force is excited to announce the addition of Elizabeth O´Bagy as Political Director to our team in Washington, D.C. She joins us from the prestigious Institute for the Study of War, where she served as a Senior Research Analyst for Syrian politics and security.
"We are thrilled to have Elizabeth on board. Her skill set, expertise on the situation in Syria, and experience in Washington and abroad are invaluable to the work of the Syrian Emergency Task Force both domestically and in Syria," said SETF Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Mohamed Kawam. (Snip)
The Syrian Emergency Task Force is a D.C. based non-profit organization created in March 2011 to convey the democratic aspirations of the Syrian people to Americans and the United States government. SETF also seeks to bring perpetrators in the Assad regime to justice through legal avenues in the United States. SETF provides policymakers with analysis and access to both the external and internal Syrian opposition.
She is being paid by them to promote Assad´s downfall.
Thanks to all posters for the info above. I like FOX but get no opportunity to watch telecasts... I visit the FOX Nation site via the link on Drudge every day...
Bears repeating... regarding Fraud Kerry...
He´ll never do Lurch in this town again! His grade... Epic FAIL... !!
Now regarding Johnny McLameBrain and his Congress-Ho ilk... We need a Constitutional Amendment... For a citizen-sponsored RECALL Election for all national offices...
Obviously 2012 results were an Evil Fraud! Time for a complete RECALL Election for all House and Senate offices simultaneously! And for the Presiduncy and Vice Presiduncy, of course... a national refer-end-dumb.
We must never wait any longer for Eastern-based Elites (all Elitists) to do our work for us, because they never will!
We need legal measures now... to dump them all as we see fit by voting. One of the Liberty Amendments or whatever you want to dub them... Must be a citizen-generated immediate vote of NO Confidence in the Gummint... And a complete RECALL Election to rid ourselves of this pile of worthless... Tirds of a Feather... Chicken-Hawks who will screw US! Let´s dump them all ASAP!
They are being exposed for the Frauds they all are! We need the means to rid ourselves of this incompetent travesty of Gummint right now! A National Refer-End-Dumb! Buh-Bye, Dumb-O... !!
Can´t imagine a body of old political fools hanging on the advice of a devious 26 year old woman/child? Awww then Harken back to yester-year when the democrat Congress listened to a 26 year old intern named Hillary. She promised to get a president for them even if she had to make up the evidence. Round and round the monkeys chase the weasels ---
Elizabeth O’Bagy? Is there somewhere in this crazy mixed up world an Ibn al Doherty? And why on earth is our government being advised by a 26 year old, especially one who says that despite the fact that she is the director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force, she is really only a consultant on humanitarian stuff with that group. Where did she come from? What is her education? Is she best buds with Huma? How they must be laughing at this administration. And there are yet some who fear that if Congress nixes attacking Syria it will damage our reputation. That horse left the barn a long time ago. In fact, if Congress snubs Obama, it will be a good start at regaining our reputation.
27, I HAD to like your comment! That exact thought has been running through my mind too! So much so, I even went to youtube and looked the song up a couple of qweeks ago. I kid you not. I played it several times, because it just fit my mood ever so perefectly. Amazing you had the same thought and expressed it the same way!
Funny thing, a lot of the old anti-war songs of the 60´s fit so well now. Something´s happening here, what it is ain´t exactly clear. There´s a man with a gun over there, tellin´ me I got to beware...
O’Bagy is nothing but a modern-day Mildred Gillars (Axis Sally). What really scares me is the the our Secretary of State didn´t find out who she was before recommending her article publicly.
Lazy and inept. One of his aides probably handed him the article because it reflects the Administration´s naive and uninformed line about the rebels. He didn´t bother to find our who the author was - it was published in the NYT, after all - it must be the unvarnished truth.
ALL muslims are our enemies. There are no moderates. If there were they would work in their communities to suppress the murderous "radicals." Instead they just sit around silently waiting for the worldwide caliphate. The muslim religious/cultural/political/judicial/financial/social/militant system is all intertwined. A believer can´t just pick a portion to believe and ignore the rest and still be a "good" muslim. It ain´t a la carte.
This whole administration has bought into a finely-crafted muslim propaganda line. The religion of peace? Sure, there will be peace once we´re all under the thumb of a system dreamed up by a seventh-century pederast and warlord.
Now that I´m not on as much caffeine as I was while posting here yesterday...
I can recall I meant to include another comment about O-Bagy... when she was just O-Baby, 26 years ago or so...
Should we not demand to see HER birfin´ certimicut... ? Seems as though her bio, her history, is just a tad suspect... What about her transcripts, her passport and visa records... All those things we also needed about O-Bomber the NO-Bomber and never were provided.
Dealing with this Badmininstration and all its Bad Actors seems to be an exercise in utter futility.
Propaganda experts like the Marxists. There was an article about a 1979 article about the commies aiming for the black folks after the Civil Rights struggle and had a coalition with Muslims and their money also in the mix. I can´t get it with an online search but it seems the conspiracy or secret combine is at work..
Muslims have been schooled here, know what makes us tick but do not want to emulate us and do know how to fool us.Our strengths like openness and trust or is it our projection of our own goodness looked at as being in everyone?
Did we need 6,600 words about the utterly irrelevant John McCain? Somebody thought we did. In the last couple of years, every time something John McCain says makes "news," my immediate reaction—sometimes on Twitter, sometimes just in my head—is, "Remind me again why anybody should give a crap what John McCain thinks about anything?" I´ve never been able to get a satisfactory answer to this question. And here comes star reporter Mark Leibovich, author of the well-received This Town, with a 6,634-word cover profile of McCain for next week´s New York Times Magazine. Do we need another one of these?
Small details tell big stories in the political world and Washington Examiner Chief Political Correspondent Byron York has a master´s eye for detecting them. Take his column today on how Jeh Johnson, President Obama´s new Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, thumbed his nose at Senate Republicans. In Harry Reid´s nuked Senate, only 51 votes are required to confirm — or deny — presidential nominees for cabinet posts. That fact changes everything about the Senate. No more compromises For example, as York notes, "If Johnson could be confident that he had at least 51 of the Senate´s 55 Democratic votes
Let’s start with the crossbow, because the crossbow is huge. I’m sitting in the passenger seat of a camo-painted ATV, rumbling through the northern Louisiana backwoods with Phil Robertson, founder of the Duck Commander company, patriarch at the heart of A&E’s smash reality hit Duck Dynasty, and my tour guide for the afternoon. There are seat belts in this ATV, but it doesn’t look like they’ve ever been used. Phil is not wearing one. I am not wearing one, because I don’t want Phil to think I’m a pussy. (Too late!) The crossbow—a Barnett model equipped with a steel-tipped four-blade
My life’s work is devoted to cutting the federal government in half.(Snip)In fact, I’m probably the only person in Washington who thinks the legislation that would have that effect over the long run can and quite possibly will be enacted within the next 10 years (politics operates in cycles, like a pendulum, thank you Barack Obama). And I have worked directly on that project with Paul Ryan — he is one of the few people in America who understands that if these reforms are done right, the poor, seniors, those in need of health care, working people, America, and the
London — Saudi Arabia has been friends with our Western partners for decades; for some, like the United Kingdom where I serve as ambassador, for almost a century. These are strategic alliances that benefit us both. Recently, these relationships have been tested — principally because of differences over Iran and Syria. We believe that many of the West’s policies on both Iran and Syria risk the stability and security of the Middle East. This is a dangerous gamble, about which we cannot remain silent, and will not stand idly by. The crisis in Syria continues unabated. There have been over 100,000
I was invited to speak at a law school symposium in November at the University of Connecticut. I was there to speak about the connection between mental illness and mass murder. (If curious, my presentation starts at about 2:20:00 in this video stream.) It was an interesting experience, and a reminder of how much trouble the gun control movement is in, and of how dishonest their arguments really are. Richard Aborn, formerly chairman of Handgun Control, Inc. (now the Brady Campaign), spoke at the symposium. Aborn claimed that he supported reasonable gun control laws. Aborn even argued that the U.S. Supreme
Under ObamaCare, smoking, obesity and other health conditions sometimes penalized by wellness programs can force even those with employer-provided insurance to pay more, an officer of the National Union of Healthcare Workers said Tuesday. "I run five miles a day, I don´t drink, I don´t smoke. And by the Kaiser wellness program that a number of employees we represent are covered by, I´m two pounds from being overweight," said John Borsos. Kaiser said in a statement late Tuesday that its program is voluntary and does not penalize those who don´t meet the program´s goals, although that is not true for other programs. Borsos
Nirvana, KISS and Peter Gabriel are among the music artists who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. Also on the list, which was released today, are pop singer Linda Ronstadt, blue-eyed soul duo Hall and Oates and British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens. The latter three might come as a surprise to some hard rock fans, but the Rock Hall, which has drawn controversy since it began inducting performers in 1986, includes not just the legends of rock, but soul and R&B artists, like Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight & the Pips, rap artists like Public Enemy
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti -- At the Olde Good Things antique store on Manhattan´s Upper West Side, a French crystal chandelier can go for tens of thousands of dollars. A marble mantel sells for more than $20,000 and hand-carved dinner tables are priced even higher. The store´s Christian missionary owners offer their well-heeled customers a heart-warming story: Part of the proceeds pay for the group´s orphanage in Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world. What they don´t say is that even though they claim in IRS filings to be spending around $2.5 million annually, the home for boys and girls was
The White House said Monday that President Obama has yet to sign up for health insurance through a federal website created by his signature health care law. “The president will purchase insurance on the exchanges,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. “When we have an update on that, we’ll provide it to you.” Carney, who has been asked about the president´s plans at least once since enrollment in ObamaCare started Oct. 1, pointed out the deadline is not until March 31. Obama is not required to enroll through an online exchange like members of Congress and staffers who want to keep
A skirmish on MSNBC underscores the new normal in Democratic thinking: If you disagree with Obama, you must be racist. A Tea Party member? Racist! How it’s damaging our cultural fabric. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back. On Sunday I appeared as a guest on the Melissa Harris-Perry show to discuss the state of politics in America today. One of my fellow panelists, Angela Nye, observed: “I was just thinking, to me, in 2010, the Republican infighting took a particularly dangerous tone because it wasn’t just about infighting anymore. It was about taking our country back with
In June, 16-year old Ethan Couch, driving his father’s F-350 pickup truck while drunk on beer that he and friends had stolen from Walmart, plowed into four people on the side of the road in Burleson, Texas, killing them and grievously injuring two of his own teenage passengers.(Snip) If Barack is Ethan (and both have the additional similarities of having been given, or at least loaned, a mansion and hoping that “beer summit” ethanol will make people like them better), who are his irresponsible, enabling political parents? Sadly, in the Big Love that is the world of celebrity, he has
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E´s "Duck Dynasty," won´t be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after slamming gays in a magazine interview. In the January issue of GQ, Robertson said homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man´s anus. That´s just me. I´m just thinking: There´s more there! She´s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know
A&E broke its silence on Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments late Wednesday. The cable network announced Robertson is off the hit show for the time being. The network issued the following statement to EW: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
President Barack Obama sent Russia a clear message about its treatment of gays and lesbians with who he is — and isn’t — sending to represent the United States at the Sochi Olympics. Billie Jean King will be one of two openly gay athletes in the U.S. delegation for the opening and closing ceremonies, Obama announced Tuesday. For the first time since 2000, however, the U.S. will not send a president, former president, first lady or vice president to the Games. Russia has come under fierce criticism for passing national laws banning “gay propaganda.” Though the White House did not specifically address
The gay and lesbian rights group GLAAD is slamming ´Duck Dynasty´ patriarch Phil Robertson for comments he made about homosexuality to GQ magazine, and challenging the show´s network, A&E, to take action against its most popular star. In a wide-ranging interview, Robertson shared his thoughts on homosexuality and religion. After stating in very graphic terms his preference for heterosexual sex over homosexual sex, Robertson launched into more thoughts about homosexuality and sinning. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong... Sin becomes fine,” he said.
Yes, she really said it. On CNN’s Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, “We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn´t say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah” (video follows with transcript and commentary): PIERS MORGAN, HOST: You have interviewed every president of my lifetime. Why is Obama facing so much opposition now? Why is he struggling so much to really fulfill the great flame of ambition and excitement that he was elected on originally in 2009?
Everyone is doing thoughtful year-end pieces on President Obama. Writers and reporters agree he’s had his worst year ever. I infer from most of their essays an unstated but broadly held sense of foreboding: There’s no particular reason to believe next year will be better, and in fact signs and indications point to continued trouble. I would add that in recent weeks I have begun to worry about the basic competency of the administration, its ability to perform the most fundamental duties of executive management. One reason I worry is that I frequently speak with people who interact with the White
O ne year removed from re-election, President Obama´s approval rating has sunk to the lowest level of his presidency. Furthermore, Obama´s popularity among the Democratic Party base — whose rejuvenated support proved crucial last November — took a huge hit this past year. Only 54 percent of self-described liberals "very strongly" approve of Obama´s job performance, according to a Pew survey released this week. That´s down from an all-time high of nearly 90 percent, and a significant decline from the 73 percent who strongly approved of the president back in June. Why the steep drop? Well, the first year of Obama´s second term
John Podesta was just named as a new senior-level adviser to President Obama last week, but he´s already ruffling Republican feathers. In a profile published late Tuesday night by Politico Magazine, Podesta is quoted comparing Republicans to the infamous cult led by Jim Jones, who was responsible for the 1978 cyanide poisoning of more than 900 of his followers in Guyana. "They need to focus on executive action given that they are facing a second term against a cult worthy of Jonestown in charge of one of the houses of Congress," said Podesta of what Obama´s White House team faces.
Hours after we reported that Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson dropped some illogical “logic” on homosexuality during his GQ interview, his home network A&E decided to indefinitely suspend him from the show. While Robertson’s comments were hilariously ignorant, they were predictable — especially given his family’s socially-conservative, Bible-loving image. Suspending the lead character for his wholly predictable comments is not only an overreaction but a gross misstep. To recap: The Duck Commander patriarch remarked to the men’s magazine that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, and used fifth-grade “logic” to imply that homosexual men should give up their ways of choosing a
The U.S. Army War College, which molds future field generals, has begun discussing whether it should remove its portraits of Confederate generals — including those of Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Nestled in rural Pennsylvania on the 500-acre Carlisle Barracks, the war college is conducting an inventory of all its paintings and photographs with an eye for rehanging them in historical themes to tell a particular Army story. During the inventory, an unidentified official — not the commandant, Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Cucolo III — asked the administration why the college honors two generals who fought against the United States,
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ. "We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely." The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) took some shots at his fellow Republicans during Tuesday’s Senate debate over the proposed bipartisan budget deal put together by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA). Joining the more moderate wing of the Republican Party, McCain declared his strong support for the deal and accused any members of the GOP who plan to vote against it of lacking “intellectual integrity.” McCain said he was supporting the bill for two reasons: One, to prevent the possibility of another government shutdown, and two, to alleviate the “devastating impact of sequestration on our military.” “The American people steadfastly
