Kerry portrait of Syria rebels at
odds with intelligence reports

Reuters, by Mark Hosenball and Phil Stewart

Original Article

WASHINGTON--Secretary of State John Kerry´s public assertions that moderate Syrian opposition groups are growing in influence appear to be at odds with estimates by U.S. and European intelligence sources and nongovernmental experts, who say Islamic extremists remain by far the fiercest and best-organized rebel elements.(Snip)While the radical Islamists among the rebels may not be numerically superior to more moderate fighters, they say, Islamist groups like the al Qaeda-aligned Nusra Front are better organized, armed and trained. Kerry´s remarks represented a change in tone by the Obama administration, which for more than two years has been wary of sending U.S. arms to

This will make everybody feel better:

FTA:

Kerry cited an article by Elizabeth O´Bagy, an analyst with the Institute for the Study of War think tank, in which she wrote that Islamic extremist factions are not "spearheading the fight against the Syrian government," but rather that the struggle is being led by "moderate opposition forces."

Kerry doesn´t know what he is doing. Nor do the others who are desperately grabbing at "facts" to support their Boss who took the country off the rails with his throwaway red line remark in 2012.

# 1 I disagree, john kerry knows exactly what he is doing; just as in 1971 he is lying to the American people to promote obama´s vision of a mid east dominated by the muslim brotherhood.

Kerry should read some of the new reports coming out from Syria ... executions, Christian villages sacked ...

I just saw a closeup of his face. What´s wrong with him? He´s all puffy, swollen.

The parts of Aleppo held by rebels are ruled by Sharia. al qusair was mainly defended by Idris and he was routed. Other groups fighting view him as corrupt. al nusra alone has 10,000 fighters and no one will ever mistake them for moderate. al qaeda in Iraq is fighting in Syria. They´ll chop off your head for sport. Kerry´s spouting nonsense.

Vitamin C may be secret to

According to a news release from the American Academy of Neurology, consuming foods that contain vitamin C may lower your risk of the most common kind of hemorrhagic stroke. Fruit and vegetables, like oranges, papayas, peppers, broccoli and strawberries, contain vitamin C. According to the American Stroke Association, hemorrhagic stroke accounts for approximately 13 percent of stroke cases. It results from a weakened vessel that ruptures and bleeds into the surrounding brain. The blood collects and compresses the surrounding brain tissue. The research involved 65 people who had dealt with an intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke. They were examined in contrast to

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — In a defeat for organized labor in the South, employees at the Volkswagen plant here voted 712 to 626 against joining the United Automobile Workers, even though the company did not oppose the unionization drive. The U.A.W.’s loss — in what was one of the most closely watched unionization votes in decades — is expected to slow, perhaps stymie, the union’s plans to organize other auto plants in the South. Two other German-owned plants, Mercedes-Benz in Alabama and BMW in South Carolina, have been among its top targets.

Attorneys for Soros, who was reportedly struck in the head by Ferreyr during a Tuesday deposition, are asking a judge to prevent public access to certain details to shield Soros from “annoyance” and “embarrassment,” according to the New York Post. Now his attorney, LA-based attorney-to-the-stars Martin Singer, is afraid Ferreyr’s lawyer will disclose “confidential information” about his client.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was in direct contact with President Barack Obama at least 18 times between October 2012 and October 2013, including seven occasions where her draft calendar showed Obamacare as the topic of conversation. The news appears to contradict her insistence that Obama was in the dark about problems plaguing the ill-fated healthcare.gov website in the months leading up to its October 1, 2013 launch. The Hill newspaper reported Thursday that documents released through a Freedom of Information Act request show meetings, events and phone calls where the two were together. They also show at

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — The UAW suffered a devastating defeat at Volkswagen’s plant here as workers rejected union representation by a 712-626 margin. The defeat, which came despite Volkswagen’s neutrality, tarnishes UAW President Bob King’s legacy and could make it next to impossible for the union to extend its reach beyond domestic automakers.
“While we certainly would have liked a victory for workers here, we deeply respect the Volkswagen Global Group Works Council, Volkswagen management and (German union) IG Metall for doing their best to create a free and open atmosphere for workers to exercise their basic human right to form a union,” King said in a statement.

At least every week now, there is a new story supporting the narrative of an inevitable 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential bid. Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that it is an absolute certainty that she will run. If anyone is currently saying, flat out, that Hillary isn´t running, I haven´t come across them. Is the inevitability of her run really as certain as the conventional wisdom suggests, and further, is it unfolding in an optimal manner for the potential candidate? In all likelihood, Clinton will not make a final, "go-or-no-go" decision until early next year, after the dust has settled from

The school of literary criticism known as reception theory holds that a text should be studied in light of its effect on its contemporaries, that a reader should be aware of the “horizon of expectations” in which a text is produced. I was reminded of this the other day as I observed, in amusement, fascination, and occasional pity, the reaction of the so-called mainstream media to Alana Goodman’s lengthy and rock-solid report on “The Hillary Papers.” This trove of previously unexamined transcriptions of conversations between Hillary Clinton and her best friend Diane Blair had been collecting dust at the University
