The Awful Truth about Obama
American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

The advocates of congressional backing for an Obama strike on Syria claim that America would be weakened if the president is rebuked. Unfortunately, America already is weakened, and backing a dangerously incompetent president´s pinprick won´t do anything to help. President Obama has no credibility with the tough guys. Our deterrent power is already sapped of vigor. With each day, it gets worse for Obama and for America.(snip)The problem with Obama´s behavior is that it is dangerous. Through his rhetoric and by degrading our military capabilities through budget cuts and morale-sapping sexual social-engineering policies, Obama has ended the de facto Pax

The more awful truth is that, for many of us, Obama never had any credibility (come on, a community organizing socialist academic part term senator who thinks the constitution is bogus is going to do a good job in the most powerful office in the world the purpose of which is to defend the constitution?). You didn´t hear that much because nobody wants to be called a racist which is the left´s favorite way to stifle the opposition. Unfortunately it works.

The left has weakened this country for 50 years. Are there so few rationally thinking legislators that are never forced to pay personal consequences for wrong policy or decisions to see the obvious. At the very least Boehner could have offered Syria for Obamacare.

Here´s the problem: the right says all this great stuff - but in the end they will vote to support Obama´s military adventure. And everything they said will be empty rhetoric.

Everytime we have a Democrat president it takes a Republican president eight years to clean up the mess.

By that time the stupid vote succumbs to the liberal press´ propaganda and we have to do it all over once again.

Two of the biggest and best-connected lobbyists in Washington, DC are divorcing each other, and in the process they are placing on the public record the amazing wealth that can be generated by helping rent-seeking powerful interests shape the laws and regulations that separate Americans into winners and losers as the state confiscates a fifth of our GDP and regulates much of the rest. Matthew Continetti chronicles the divorce of Tony and Heather Podesta in the Free Beacon, and it is arresting reading. One of the guidelines of liberal propaganda is that if you are going to lie, lie big. Global warming, Obamacare, Romney’s a heartless guy. It might be time to add to the list the famous Anthony Porter exoneration in Chicago in 1999. Not only is Porter likely guilty of the double murder he was initially charged with, an innocent man therefore sits in an east central Illinois prison serving a 37-year sentence. His probable framing was largely orchestrated by a since-discredited “journalism” professor and his students at Northwestern University, a cowed prosecutor’s office in Cook County, and a Chicago media that

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

Many Americans have been watching with great consternation the ongoing struggle between the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Marshals against Cliven Bundy and his family. Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators.
