John Kerry says there is ´irrefutable
and alarming evidence´ that
climate change is real

Daily Mail [UK], by Ryan Gorman

US Secretary of State John Kerry is concerned about the threat posed by global warming. Speaking Monday via satellite to climate experts gathered for this week’s Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) in the Marshall Islands, US Secretary of State John Kerry asserted that climate change needs to be taken more seriously and that action can be taken to stem the tide of consequence. The Marshall Islands, at no more than three feet above sea level, are especially at risk of rising seas, one of the many effects of global warming.‘The science is clear. It is irrefutable and it is alarming,’ Mr

Maybe if we launch 11,000 tomahawk missiles at the Marshall Islands we can make them go away and stop bothering our conscience. I mean, isn´t the Obamanation solution to all problems either hit them with missiles, or bury them in money? OK, ship a few trillion old dollar bills to the Marshall Islands to raise them another foot above sea level, how about that?

His weighing in on the "alarming evidence" of human-generated climate change gives me little or no confidence in his "alarming evidence" of Assad´s use of chemical weapons in Syria. A fool in one area is probably a fool in other areas as well.

Then I suggest you and king obama stay home more often. Yes, the climate is changing and will continue to do so. Greenland was called just that for a reason and England use to support a lot of vineyards. O, by the way this is the first time in 11 years that we have not had an Aug. hurricane after we were told this would be a very active season.

If Horseface thinks Climate Change is a big deal he should lead by example by getting rid of all of his mansions but one, his private jet, his SUVs, etc. Of course humans are altering the climate. So do cockroaches. The question is in what significant figure does the change occur. And is it bad. And if it is bad what could we do about it. The answers are infinitesimally small, maybe, and nothing.

All climate alarmists have been told to avoid any mention of facts. Just project certitude. Why? Because they have no facts that stand up. Most of the stuff they used to reference was either proposed explanations (theories) without any proof or tricked up computer models that were specifically designed to give the outcome they wanted to see. It was a pathetic excuse for science.

The real scientific studies that were included in the IPCC were FAR more modest in their conclusions, pointing out some results and areas of possible concern. The political elements then distorted those reports beyond all recognition in their summary, which is all most people read.

In short, the Alarmists have NOTHING so they have to talk big to bluster and bully us into following their agenda.

Just like BO and Jon Carry on Syria.

Sheesh, Jon. If you´re s-o-o-o smart with science ´n´ stuff, give us a cure for cancer, ´K?

But maybe this explains why Jon doesn´t dock his $7 million-plus yacht in Massachusetts -- the climate for boating is better in Rhode Island. ´Cause we know the climate for taxes is better there.

#6: Nah, Jon´s not rich. But thanks to marrying Tuh-ray-zuh, he has visitation rights to the late John Heinz´s money.

#11: Wait ´til Jon learns how much closer the moon used to be to the earth.

#13: Yeah, but that day/night temp swing is a bear.

#15: But obviously, the hurricane forecast scared off the expected hurricanes. Not having hurricanes proves it was a bad hurricane season!

#20: Good post. a. IIRC, termites emit more methane into the air than humans; and b. a critical point -- what if we try some irreversible scheme the Environuts cook up, and it makes things worse? Then what?

#22: Also, those IPCC reports often had the "conclusions" written before the sort-of sciency stuff was done or collected.

Mr Secretary:
Rising waters around the Marshall Islands can readily be dealt with by pulling the drain plug at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
If you believe that one, you also believe that humans can control the climate and its changes.

I hope liberals remember that their Viet Nam war hero, Mr. Kerry, lambasted George Bush for rushing into war with Iraq. The intelligence regarding Iraq´s possession of chemical weapons was faulty according to Kerry. Never mind that Saddam used chemical weapons on the Kurds. Sure the climate changes . . . always has, always will but it´s no more alarming than the tide changing. Sure there´s evidence that sarin gas was used in Syria but you´re only guessing at who used it. You don´t really know. You want us to ruin our economy and go to war because the planet is doing what it has always done and some other people are doing to each other what people have always done to each other? The planet will survive and so will those other people. Give it a rest.

The pretensions of computer climate modeling to the status of science are premature at best, suspect at worst. At its present stage of development it is better regarded as a species of prognostication akin to astrology and other forms of fortune telling. It may eventually turn out to prove a reliable and genuinely scientific methodology. Right now it is not. It is no coincidence that the loudest proponents and activists are those with the least actual understanding of science, e.g. Al Gore, John Kerry and others. Neither of these men has any real grounding in science. Neither, I am afraid, is terribly bright. Both are opportunists, self-promoters and partisan ideologues whose basic truthfulness and integrity has long been open to question. It is a curious world when people like this presume to pontificate about matters they know less than nothing about.

It cannot be emphasized too much nor repeated too often that what is caused "global warming" is not a single issue but a mare´s nest of separate questions, all of which remain unanswered and are presently unanswerable:

1. Is global warming for real?
2. Is it significant, i.e. large and progressive?
3. Will it cause the negative consequences claimed?
4. Does human activity have any significant contribution to it?
5. Is there anything that can be done about it?
6. What are the costs and consequences and possible unintended effects of the proposed remedies for the proposed crisis?

The reason we are in the situation that we are in right now is because of idiots like Kerry, who served in Viet Nam by the way, and Obama along with Hillary and their ilk. The entire treasury of Rome would not have saved those in Pompei. I would give the same advice those who lived in Pompei received well before the catastrophic event, move from there.

That may be good advice for those in Tuvalu & Marshall Islands. Cheaer by far than wrecking the economies of the entire world, to no avail.

Unfortunate that Kerry provides his evidence of global warming at the same time he is speaking of irrefutable evidence of Assad using chemical weapons in Syria.

Really can´t trust anything he says.

What is Vladimir Putin’s game? The recent unrest in eastern Ukraine has been presented by the Kremlin as an autonomous phenomenon, an upsurge of patriotic feeling among embattled ethnic Russians who long for the protection of the Motherland against what they see as a neo-nationalist regime in Kiev. It may be true that the initial impulse came from locals acting without Russia’s direct involvement. But it is becoming clear that, just as in Crimea, many of the “separatists” are not just taking their orders from Moscow, but are very probably Russian troops in paper-thin disguise. The key difference is that,

Nowhere is this truer than on questions of conflict. Case in point, here´s my updated flowchart considering a Israeli/US military operation against Iran´s nuclear program. Let me know your thoughts.

Ireland, once a rock-solid Christian country, has now become so intolerant of Christian beliefs that its leading opponent of gay marriage may be forced to leave the country because of fears for his personal safety. After repeated threats and obscene verbal attacks, John Waters, a nationally-known newspaper columnist, author and broadcaster who supports Christian family traditions, says he is now unable to go into the centre of Dublin at night because he fears for his own safety. The attacks began after Waters threatened the state-owned broadcaster RTE with legal action after a drag queen called ‘Panti Bliss’ appeared on a television programme

A huge forest fire raging in a Chilean city has claimed eleven lives and destroyed 1,000 buildings. Eleven deaths have already been confirmed as the catastrophic fire continues to engulf the port city of Valparaiso. The armed forces have been called in to maintain law and order in the city while thousands of people were evacuated amid warnings that the death toll will rise further. Huge numbers of homes - many in the steep hills around the city itself--as well as a women´s prison were emptied of their residents in a bid to save them from the destruction. The Ukrainian president declared ´war´ between his country and Russia today after gunfire between pro-Moscow troops and Ukrainian special forces ended in the first fatalities of the conflict. The country´s interior minister Arsen Avakov said in a Facebook post a security service officer was killed near Slovyansk, east Ukraine. He also reported an unclear number of casualties among the militia. It is the first reported gun battle in the area--where armed men loyal to Moscow have seized a number of law enforcement buildings, including a police station, in recent days. Now, Ukraine´s authorities have said they plan to launch a ´full-scale anti-terrorist operation´

Ukraine´s president says a full-scale operation involving the army will be launched in the east after pro-Russian militants seized government buildings. Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov said he would not allow a repetition of what happened in Crimea which was annexed by Russia last month. His live televised address from parliament came after pro-Russian forces targeted half a dozen cities. Ed Miliband says he wants to be Britain’s “first Jewish PM”. He apparently has no ambitions to be its most historically informed. As any fule kno, Benjamin Disrael--one of the greatest PMs there ever was--was Jewish. Yes, he converted to Christianity. But Ed Miliband doesn’t even believe in God and describes himself as a “Jewish atheist”--so we’re talking about ethnic identity here, not religion. And Disraeli was keenly aware of his ethnicity, calling himself "the blank page between the Old Testament and the New". He said that he regarded the Christian church as "the only Jewish institution that remains

The political Twittersphere erupted into guffaws Saturday after a women´s lifestyle magazine published a soft profile of ABC journalist Claire Shipman--the wife of White House Press Secretary Jay Carney--and applied ham-fisted Photoshop edits to a photo of the family bookshelf. UKIP is now polling at 20 percent, while Britain´s traditional third party, the Liberal Democrats, have sunk to just 7. The Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror poll shows Labour (35 percent) increasing its lead to six points over the Conservative Party (29 percent), with the libertarian, small-government UKIP hot on the heels of Cameron´s party following the resignation of cabinet minister Maria Miller last week. The poll results also reflect the two debate victories that UKIP leader Nigel

Who throws a shoe? Honestly! That would be 36-year-old Alison Ernst of Phoenix, Arizona, who was charged Thursday night with disorderly conduct by the Las Vegas Police Department after allegedly throwing a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to NBC News, who spoke with a Secret Service official, the U.S. Attorney’s office has declined federal prosecution. Ernst was wearing shoes on Thursday night when she attended a speech Clinton was giving in Las Vegas, but apparently brought an extra one specifically to throw at the former secretary of state. Many Americans have been watching with great consternation the ongoing struggle between the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Marshals against Cliven Bundy and his family. There are no signs of either side relinquishing their position. Many onlookers have been informed that this dispute is over protecting the desert tortoise. But it is nothing of the sort. In fact, the reality of the dispute goes far underneath what is being talked about. The more appropriate source of the dispute is ground water as well as surface water -- this is a war over water. A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters. Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally. Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a "range war" against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. Barack Obama won the presidency because in an election where the premium was on change, it mattered little

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

A brazen flash mob has been caught on camera storming a California store and making off with $20,000 worth of sunglasses. It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it. Democrats hope to retain control of the Senate and recapture the House by driving
