WEST MELBOURNE -- Investigators say a Brevard County pizza delivery man took action into his own hands -- shooting and killing a would-be robber. Investigators said Byron Park, a Domino´s employee, had just delivered a pizza to one of the rooms at the Days Inn off US-192 near Interstate 95. Park, 54, went back to his car, sat down and starting counting his money and tip, waiting for his next call for a delivery. That’s when investigators said 32-year-old Fredrick Kelly Jr. approached him with a knife, demanding money and threatening to kill him. Park pulled out his firearm and fired once toward Kelly,

Stinky running out of "sons" yet?

[BTW, this article will be on file at the Knife-to-Gunfight Department.]

FTA: Sheriff Wayne Ivey [said] "The suspect in this investigation was released from prison in 2009, after serving a reduced sentence for similar violent crimes." Investigators said Kelly had a lengthy violent criminal history, which included armed robbery, false imprisonment and aggravated battery.

a. Nice work, legal system. Darned near had another murder you helped bring about.
b. Freddie seems to have been unappreciative of all that leniency.

In other news sources, they said the driver was a former cop. Dominio´s has already backtracked by saying the drivers are not suppose to be armed, but did not know about that particular location´s rules.

I am glad our 2nd amendment rights and SYG laws are working to help protect law abiding Americans. Be alert though to more than one perp. The feral simians usually hunt in packs, where one will distract while the other(s) move in from the flanks or rear and pounce on the victim. Mr Benton, the WW II vet may have been the victim of such 2v1 or multi v 1 attacks. We know that the Aussie kid was hunted down and shot in the back by a pack of three feral thugs. Recommend keep alert and your 2nd amendment tool kit at the ready.

#7: A collapsing Freddie going below the window opening in the car door could have taken him out of the sight picture.

#11: How about bumper stickers on pizza delivery men´s cars -- "Smile. Wait for flash"?

#12: Indeed, do what the perp says, like "be quiet while I kill you."

#16: Outrageous indeed.

#19: Excellent advice. Beware tunnel vision. Clever perps might have somebody they consider expendable approach first ["Yeah, go prove you got the stuff, kid, and you can hang with us"]. If the Newbie gets you, they´re ahead. If you get the Newbie but you lock up so they get you, they´re ahead.

#22: Seriously, he might just want to get out, interact with people, enjoy a little camaraderie.

#25: I have read that a study/studies by Marshall and Sanow found the [surprise!] .45 ACP Federal Hydra-Shok rounds best by far at "one shot stops" as reported from street incidents. I have also heard the M&S report is in some way questionable. Sorry, no details on that.

Take is easy #7, Bryon did the right thing. It took him one shot to stop the perp. That´s what the law says, use force to stop the perp, not kill him. One good result of this crime stop is that we won´t have to worry about any future crime from this perp. He has passed on into that great prison system in the great beyond. Hope his fire suit is working well.

I think all delivery drivers, store clerks etc. should have the right and be trained to use deadly force. The robbers just don´t value human life anymore.

To bad Florida doesn´t have a law like Texas.

If you are injured while committing a crime, in Texas, neither the perp nor any of his family can sue anyone.

Makes common sense, if you weren´t engaged in the act that caused you to be injured you wouldn´t have been injured.

WASHINGTON — Stepping into a heated debate within the nation’s intelligence agencies, President Obama has decided that when the National Security Agency discovers major flaws in Internet security, it should — in most circumstances — reveal them to assure that they will be fixed, rather than keep mum so that the flaws can be used in espionage or cyberattacks, senior administration officials said Saturday. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations

"He was moved to an Alzhemier´s facility last week," says a family friend. "I´m not sure what the permanent plan is for him yet. We´ll know more next week." The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one
