Remember Black Jesus? The Lightworker? The One? The next Lincoln, the Democrats’ Reagan, the neo-FDR? He is now standing next to Tricky Dick and Slick Willie, caught in a quartet of burgeoning scandals, charged with rewriting the facts when they became inconvenient, harassing the press, and using the Internal Revenue Service to get at his enemies, subverting their rights of assembly, and speech. “Richard Milhous Obama,” writes Carl M. Cannon, and there are also Clintonian levels of cover-ups, literally in the case of Hillary Clinton’s role in the Benghazi debacle. In The Presidents’ Club, Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy tell
The real scandal that is not being reported is the amount of black on white crime not being reported by the msm. Obama and the Democrats have encouraged all this violence with all their talk about white racists, stupid cops, not charging the black panthers and setting a tone of visceral hatred for white men. The killing of the baseball player in Duncan, Oklahoma out of boredom is a clarion call that there is a one way race war going on. Just like we ignored the first bombing of the World Trade Center. Exercise your God given 2nd Amendment right to bear arms or you could be the next statistic in the war against whites. Ignore this at your own peril.
One thing is right. We have a sick political culture but with Nixon and Clinton not one person died. With obama and hillary that cannot be said The worst travesty I have ever witnessed was the two of them greeting the bodies from Benghazi. Deaths they caused and seem to have no regrets about other Gotham they are being asked to explain something they cannot without consequences that will cost them their power
I think the article is disappointing and something of a shield attempt. Where does the author have evidence to proclaim that the Obamammunist is NOT directing actions such as the IRS illegal targeting? Just because he covers his tracks well so far is no reason to buy any story that he is not in it up to his eyeballs. As other posters have pointed out, his race baiting is naked and out there for all to see. Benghazi was not even mentioned in this article. Far too early to go with a it-was-all-his-underlings story.
I think Ms. Emery was a bit light on the Obama scandal side of the ledger but overall an excellent article.
Given the known well documented scandals of the powerful how is it that one must qualify for the tin foil hat society to believe that other things are at work. The CH47 load of Seal Team 6 may well be the worst.
And just what was Sandy Berger up to? How did we as a nation not have persistent relentless outrage and demand an answer? And we ignored many contradictions with the party line regarding the OKC story.
Obama held his first ever political fund raiser in the Chicago Hyde Park neighborhood home of a notorious domestic terrorist, publicly quoted as saying, among other things, "I don´t regret setting bombs...I feel we didn´t do enough" and "Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon."
Comparing Obama, an undocumented communist foreign student who belongs in Leavenworth, in any way to our nation´s 37th POTUS, Richard Milhous Nixon, is a flagrant disservice, in my opinion to American History.
Excellent piece. In purely criminal law terms Nixon, Clinton and Obama are all guilty of conspiracy to violate various laws, the common thread being obstruction of justice. The distinction she draws between Nixon (direct involvement) and Obama (passive involvement)is one without a difference under the law. Whether one initiates a conspiracy or later knowingly joins one already in progress, the result is the same. But sadly, when has the law made any difference to this crowd occupying the WH, or to the media? Think black .
Wonderful article but a little lengthy, especially on Nixon. I couldn´t put it down, though, because it brought back so many memories. I learned a couple of "new" bits of history that I had only glanced over in the past but dismissed, if I had ever even seen a hint of it.
One new bit, to me, was that JFK seemed to approve of Nixon´s past: FTA: Ironically, Kennedy, who liked Voorhis, Douglas, and Hiss no more than did Nixon, sympathized with him and defended him until the day he started to run against him for president, telling one critic, “You have no idea what he’s been through” (referring to the beating Nixon took from the press when he defeated Helen Douglas), and saying shortly before announcing for president that if he were not nominated, he would be voting for Nixon himself."
The other "new" bit which, to me, was shocking was Eisenhower´s disdain for Nixon. Being raised in a very Republican family, I thought everything was rosey with the Republican ticket in both 1952 and 1956. For me, it was such a joy in our household that Eisenhower was elected and re-elected.
From the first time I can remember anything about presidents - 1947 or 1948, my father railed against FDR and Truman. Dad was so sure that Dewey was going to win in 1948 that he even got me, a six year old, excited about the race. If I thought 1948 was intense, 1952 was almost unbearable. At least we bought a TV in 1952 so that we could "watch" the votes come in on election night; but, best of all, I could now watch "I Love Lucy" like the rest of my friends.
Nixon did not do 5% of what Obamie has done! Nixon loved the USA and did no damage to our foreign policy at all, in fact he was a great foreign policy president. BO is a communist that wants to destroy the USA and make it a communist country. Clintoon was simply a liar, petty thief and buffoon. The press hated Nixon and went to work on him until they destroyed his presidency. He got elected twice by landslides.
Nixon operated with the press in his face, damning him at every turn (despite his environmental initiatives, the opening to China etc.). Obama operates with the press firmly behind him, no matter how silly and contradictory his statements and no matter how feckless his supposed ´leadership´. He also benefits, inestimably, from the race card always hovering above the table, about to be dropped from someone´s fingers.
I´m not so sure about the Lucianne staff´s "must read" picks lately. This article was extremely disappointing, too much Nixon, too much Gatsby, not enough Wright, Ayers and Obama scandals. Sure, Ms. Emery writes well, and this is where I think many readers and the staff are blinded. Just because she writes well with style and seems to know her history doesn´t mean she is saying anything new or of note. Article with a great premise, nice style, but again as it seems other "must reads" have done lately it failed to deliver.
Barry is not the problem. What and Who is behind Barry is the problem. And that nothing we do at the polls is affecting this Problem. The Republican Party is acting like a man with a head injury and half of our elected Representatives have been bought.
FTA: The peace talks collapsed, Nixon won (narrowly), and Johnson raged but was unable to do much about it, as he could not expose the Nixon maneuvers without revealing at the same time how he had learned of them, which was by tapping?—?illegally?—?Mrs. Chennault’s phone. Johnson called Nixon’s act “treason,” and Senate minority leader Everett Dirksen agreed with him. Nixon, however, had a different opinion: “He had saved the country from a bad peace deal cut by a desperate president,”
Nixon did commit treason, by backstabbing a sitting President polices as John Kerry did to him later. And I would like to know Mr. dead President Nixon, what kind of peace deal did you get with Kissinger? What did you settle for Mr Nixon? All those lives wasted and ruined.
The writer, perhaps for brevity´s sake, leaves out the vast and breathtaking criminality of JFK and LBJ.
Regarding Ike, here´s how he got stuck with Nixon in 1952... Ike and Taft fought for the GOP nomination, Ike as the moderate and a national hero, and Sen. Taft as Mr. Conservative.
The way Ike captured the California delegation votes was... Gov. Earl Warren later became Chief Justice of the United States... Sen. Richard Nixon became Ike´s veep. Ike did not like either of them... Warren was too liberal, Ike opined, and Nixon was not particularly likeable.
Ike was not conservative, neither was Nixon, and Warren was a leftwing liberoid.
The article is interesting and recaps a vast arc rather handily... but in doing so achieves nothing we didn´t already know... O-Bomber is a crook and should be impeached.
It is thinking like that presented in Reply #1 that is inflamatory and out of line. The Administration might be racist against whites. But, the vast majority of our black neighbors and citizens are NOT! Innercity blacks are as victimized by this crass behavior of our President and other race hustlers as are whites- all citizens suffer under this hogwash. So, please! Stop this "Call to Arms" for the War on Whites has begun! That´s BS and you know it! We, as a people must come together to stop it.
Thank you, #24. If black society can find a way to publicly join in the battle against unwed births, fatherless homes and the easy availability of drugs, we can make some real progress. There are victims of all races and somehow we have to find a way to save our youth. None of this is really the point of the posted article, however.
"Like Gatsby, Obama had a colorful past, which led to multiple rumors; like Gatsby, he created a dream and became it. Like Gatsby, he had a quest which gave his life meaning?—?for Gatsby, it was to regain the lost love of Daisy Buchanan; for Obama, it was to impose his agenda." I think the author could compare Obama to Machiavelli as well.
First, Maryc is nuts saying “with Clinton, not one person died”. Check Bill & Hillary Clinton Body Count of OVER 125 PREMATURE DEATHS of their many associates, from Arkansas to the White House. LOOK AT THE LIST ! Black started with LBJ’s massive welfare, legislating husbands out of the house giving husbandless mothers endless tax stolen income. Union controlled teachers took over from there dumbing down all children black or white, to not even read. NOEMIE EMERY´S article looking at three SICK presidents is exciting: Nixon Clinton Obama, what a mess. But it omits the father sons who linked them. Their dishonesty and malice is frightening. The error of only briefly mentioning the Bush bond, but leaving out the foul acts is a mistake. Old New World Order Bush, in the long run, was the worst of all. His past CIA intelligence position, his criminal wealth overseeing CIA drug and gun running at Mena, Arkansas, where Slick Willie made his bones with old George, manipulating of son W in between Sick Willie and Sick Nobama, all of this overlooked. A bad bunch. Each measurably WORSE than the previous, working in quiet harmony together, infiltrating more tyranny slowly into our lives leading to more collectivism, as Ayn Rand referred to all of its evil. Call it communism, socialism fascism, whatever, it’s simply more government domination, less individual freedom. Your article: beautifully worded, but an incomplete picture of destruction being played out against America by all five. Remember post 9-11 W, “If you’re not with us, you’re against us!” Why, now isn’t W objecting to ANYthing?
Opinions vary, of course, but George H.W. Bush cannot, in any sane world, be cast as worse than the presidents Emery addresses. The flying. driveby, unsubstantiated accusations in #27 should be read with skeptical eyes.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—On a recent late-fall Saturday, Barbara Deuschle, a local restaurant owner, was recounting her first impression of her congressman, Tom Cotton, who is now running for the Senate. It was back in August 2011, just before the young Republican lawmaker formally announced his first campaign for the House, and Cotton and his dad came to a party meeting to get to know the faithful. Cotton was a 34-year-old political unknown who had recently lived in Washington. "When he just parachuted down into this district, nobody ever heard of him," she recalls. "I said, ´Who are you? We´d never
WASHINGTON — Taxpayers can expect to get stuck with a more than $1 billion bill for the creation and repair of the federal ObamaCare Web site, a top House Republican warned. “The fact is, eventually they’ll get this Web site working at the cost of probably over a billion dollars,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (Calif.) said on Fox News Channel. The Obama administration did not respond to The Post’s questions Thursday about the tab for the round-the-clock “tech surge” deployed in mid-October to repair HealthCare.gov. The cost of building the bug-ridden site, which launched Oct.
On the list of scandals that plagued the Obama administration this past year, Benghazi has been the one the White House, Democrats, and their cheerleaders in the mainstream media dismissed with the greatest of ease. Unlike the IRS scandal, which though it has faded from the news had obvious constitutional and political implications, or the various spying scandals involving news organizations and the National Security Agency, which outraged large numbers of ordinary Americans, Benghazi was put down as a manufactured story that had little traction. Part of it was due to the obsessive, though understandable, focus of Republicans on the
No disrespect to Macaulay Culkin (#ALLDISRESPECTTOTHEPIGEONLADY), but we prefer The Pet Collective´s retelling of Home Alone to the original movie. Mostly because Kevin McCallister is now played by an adorable pug puppy. And if a pug puppy setting booby traps for teddy bear burglars isn´t adorable enough for you, the video also narrated by a small child. So forget Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Forget Elf. This is the only Christmas movie you need to watch this year. (Snip for video)As you might suspect, the pug, named Jackson Rosa, could not be more over it...
I’m not sure what Chris Matthews was doing with President Obama yesterday, but it wasn’t hardball. It wasn’t even softball. It was more like wiffle ball. Everyone knew going in that the MSNBC host would be a sympathetic interviewer. But he knew he would be graded on his aggressiveness, so I expected at least a few fastballs. Uh uh. Instead, in a half-hour sitdown, there was one challenging question. Just one. It was as though Matthews was channeling Jay Carney. Matthews is a likable guy with a passion for politics, but he left his interviewing chops at the door. The
WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz, elected 13 months ago by actual voters, said Thursday he’d prefer to see state legislators pick U.S. senators – as they were until a century ago, when the 17th Amendment came along. Direct election of senators has eroded states’ rights, Cruz argued, speaking to a ballroom filled with conservative state lawmakers from around the country. “If you have the ability to hire and fire me,” he said, “I’m a lot less likely to break into your house and steal your television. So there’s no doubt that was a major step toward the explosion of federal power and
I´m sitting at my desk, looking at a photograph of a gangrenous foot. It is a bloated thing in hues of phlegmatic gray rot, sanguine inflammation, melancholic black bile, and choleric open sores — exhibiting all the humors of a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Above the photograph, in bold white capitals on a dull, matte background are the words “smoking causes peripheral vascular disease.” The photograph is helpfully labeled “gangrene.” Below the photograph, in a bland sans-serif typeface with letters an eighth of an inch high, is “Marlboro Red.” This is a pack of Australian cigarettes,
Come January, when some number of Americans have bought insurance on the new health exchanges and are starting to use the services, you can expect another controversy to arise when many of them find out just how few doctors and hospitals they have access to. Call it “doc shock,” though the biggest outcry will not come when people try to schedule an appointment with their physician, but when someone gets sick and they learn they cannot go to whatever top-notch hospital they want, only to the hospital that is included in their plan. The problem varies across the country. In Washington,
Last month in San Francisco, President Obama called on Congress to enact comprehensive immigration reform. His speech was novel in many respects: The president used the backdrop of a community center in Chinatown to remind voters that immigrants are racially diverse. Also, for the first time in prepared remarks, the president signaled that he would consider a piecemeal approach to immigration reform long favored by Republican leaders in the House of Representatives. What got the most attention, however, was an unscripted exchange between Obama and Ju Hong, an undocumented UC Berkeley graduate who interrupted the president, calling on him to use
No matter how you spell it, ice is a four letter word Friday. Just ask folks living anywhere from Texas to Tennessee. Those areas are in the bulls eye of a treacherous ice storm, threatening to coat everything in its path with up to an inch of frozen water. Ice is slippery, but also heavy. It tends to bring down tree limbs and power lines when accumulations get thick. In Tennessee, Memphis Light, Gas and Water has 426,000 customers and is ready for the worst. "MLGW employees have been monitoring this winter storm situation and we have all of our
U.S. authorities have charged 49 Russian diplomats and their spouses with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, alleging that they stole $1.5 million from the American government via a years-long Medicaid scam. According to a criminal complaint made public today, the former and current diplomats lied about their income and citizenship status in order to qualify for the health benefits, which they used towards pregnancy care, births, and post-natal medical needs. They were also charged with conspiracy to steal government funds and make false statements relating to health care matters, reports the Associated Press. The complaint notes that medical costs associated with
Seduced and then disappointed by a hipster who turned out just to be another solipsistic boomer, now chastened yet still hopeful for change (if no longer swept away by the promise of Hope and Change), young Americans are ready to ditch Barack Obama. Things had been getting rocky for a while, but seeing the dawning of the Age of Obamacare in its full glory seems to have been the final indignity. The young will of course never acknowledge that maybe their old-fogey parents were right all along, but they do understand that what they thought was going to be a
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
