Oprah Talks Trayvon, Race
on CNN: People Think If They
Don’t Use the ‘N-Word’
They’re ‘Not Racist’

Oprah Winfrey and her co-star in Lee Daniels’ The Butler Forest Whitaker appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 Thursday night to promote their film. During the interview, Anderson Cooper asked Winfrey to relate the historical themes of the movie to the modern day struggles for African-Americans, including the Trayvon Martin case. Winfrey said she “loves” the film in light of the discussion on race, because it “brings context” to the conversation. She described how the film begins with a lynching scene and ends with walking into President Obama’s office, showing how much has “happened in the span of one man’s lifetime

Oprah must have suffered severe racial bias on her way to being a Billionaire. Somehow I see this as a contradiction in terms. She ought to take the lead of other successful Black people and be a UNITER, not a DIVIDER.
Instead she appears to be following Obama´s lead, in my opinion. Hardly helpful to young Blacks, as models of success.

When a group of people defined by their race are thirteen times more likely to commit a violent felony and hurt you or worse, it is impossible not to think in terms of the defining factor - race. How we got here is a relevant but separate discussion. This reality has been artificially suppressed, brushed under society´s carpet by coercive PC. The danger PC pretends does not exist or is morally repugnant is still very much there.
People like Oprah see their side of the issue but are purposefully blind to the other side. The side that Zimmerman faced alone on a dark night.

I guess I don´t know the difference between prejudice and racism. Everybody has some biases. Everybody. And I think the corollary of Oprah´s statement is also true. You can use the N-word and not be racist. Especially in a fit of anger, immature at best, but evident. In anger, people sometimes grasp for hurtful statements to say about the other. It happens in marriage. It´s almost always regretted, but it needn´t have any long term effects.

For those whose world view is based on political correctness, "racist" is a synonym for "conservative". In the Left´s perspective, if you´re Liberal, you aren´t racist.

At first it seems like the rule is "if you´re black, you can´t be racist", until you observe how conservative blacks (e.g. J.C.Watts, Clarence Thomas, Allen West) are branded racists and race-traitors.

If I tell Oprah to s the f up, does that make me a racist? Or a misogynist? It´s just too hard to keep up with the Left´s rules of illogic these days.

Hollywood keeps churning out movies such as "The Butler" and "42" (about Jackie Robinson). All this does is keep reopening the wound and making a whole new generation of black "victims" who hate whites as a matter of general principle. I go to a water exercise class at my gym and we have blacks and whites sharing friendships and fun. Everyone is welcome and feels part of the group. This is the way it can be and should be. It´s only when certain segments of society do not want to let victimhood go that the racist divide continues unabated.

I would imagine that much of the ´racism´ Oprah pretends to have experienced over the course of her seemingly ever more pathetic life, has nothing to do with her race or even with the fact that she is so damned fat, but rather with the fact that she is an obnoxious individual. The stories of her bullying and abusing others to whom she feels superior are endless. And the only way the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman affair had anything to do with race was because of the likes of Winfrey and other racists of her ilk trying desperately to make it about race when in fact the incident had nothing to do with it. The utter stupidity of this woman knows no bounds.

On Tuesday morning, a plane owned in trust by the Bank of Utah showed up in a very visible area of the Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. What was it doing there exactly? Nobody knows, reports The New York Times. Under President Barack Obama, the United States has eased some of the long-standing punitive economic sanctions against Iran. Still, very little American — or European — economic activity is allowed inside the religious theocracy. The Bank of Utah is certainly no Wells Fargo. The "X-Men" director, who is accused of sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy, is no longer set to appear at the May 2 conference along with the vice president, a source tells THR. Beleaguered X-Men director Bryan Singer has dropped out of an upcoming “Creativity Conference” in Washington, a source tells THR. The filmmaker, who is being sued by a 31-year-old man who alleges Singer sexually abused him in the late 1990s, was scheduled to appear along with Vice President Joe Biden at the conference, which is being co-sponsored by the Motion Picture Association of America, Microsoft and ABC News as

Amy Kremer, one of the original Tea Party activists who participated in the February 20, 2009 call that launched the movement and played a key role as scheduler of the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Party rallies, resigned on Friday as chairman of Tea Party Express, a position which she has held since the summer of 2009. Tea Party Express, a political action committee known for its national bus tours, was one of the first national organizations to successfully raise money through appeals to Tea Party supporters and activists. The group played a significant role in helping Tea Party

President Obama on Friday signed into law a bill authored by Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz that would bar an Iranian diplomat from entering the United States, but immediately issued a statement saying he won´t enforce it. Obama decided to treat the law as mere advice. "Acts of espionage and terrorism against the United States and our allies are unquestionably problems of the utmost gravity, and I share the Congress´s concern that individuals who have engaged in such activity may use the cover of diplomacy to gain access to our Nation," Obama said in his signing statement.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
