Egypt’s Unraveling and
the Coming Chaos

National Review Online, by Erick Stakelbeck

Original Article

There is no way to sugarcoat it: Egypt stands on the brink of a bloody, nasty civil war, and, at the very least, sustained civil unrest and sectarian violence. The current confrontation between the Egyptian military and radical Islamists — led by the Muslim Brotherhood — will not end well and the MB and its allies will not go quietly. The Brothers — the original modern Islamic terror group and the ideological source of both al-Qaeda and Hamas — are in no mood to negotiate or compromise. Think about it: After decades of patience, stealth, and gradualism,

Obama is not paralyzed. This is a dream come true. Gas prices skyrocket and the US economy is destroyed.

It´s all playing out just as they planned.

This is an important article, which clearly explains the origins and serious nature of the situation in Egypt, and its likely impact on the world. It is also an indictment of Barak Hussein Obama for bringing this about through his support for the Muslim Brotherhood, despite its historic enmity to western civilization. It should be a must read.

It is amazing to me the comments from around the wold on this. Egypt is struggling for it´s very soul and the freedom of it´s people against the darkest, most horible band of cut throats the modern world has ever seen. And we hear our President and Sec. of State whining, "Must be a peaceful solution! We condemn violence against civilians." My God, can they not see what is happening? It´s as if our own leaders are ready and willing to throw us the the same pack of vicious wolves!

Obama lit this fire.
He is aligned with the MB.
Huma Abedin was featured at a WH Ramadan dinner after Weiners first tweets-our faux POTUS wanted the MB to know their agent at State was secure.
Treason.
The Egyptian military should be applauded and supported.
Why were Morsi´s agents at Benghazi?
Did Obama want to have Amb. Stevens kidnapped to appease the MB and exchange him for the WTC terrorist The Egyptian Blind Sheikh?

When you think MB think huma abedine. Until recently she was the mentor of all things worldly to the next democrat candidate for president. If that crone gets elected, the consequences for our country will be astounding. There will be sensitivity classes for all posters on Lucianne, that you can bet on.

We Americans are so ignorant of world history! I did not know that "muslim brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna collaborated with the Nazis during World War II to extend Hitler’s Final Solution to the Jews of the Middle East and North Africa."

We have been over here working and prospering while they have been over there plotting and planning for the overthrow of countries and the annihilation of Israel.

You would think that the conversion of Iran to a islamic state and 9/11 would have awoken us from our ignorance of their agenda, but since then we ignore "allah akbar" on our own soil, continue to push "democracy" on a people who only understand it as a tool to get in power, and have proponents like Huma in influential positions in our government. Hopefully, this will negatively affect support for Hillary.

I don´t think the MB are that strong or intelligent. Every time they wage war, they lose big and their ranks are thinned. I´m no expert on this and I could be wrong but an enemy that needs to seek into your country, hijack planes and plant bombs in large population centers is not strong. The only thing they have going for themselves is they´re suicidal. So to where the Japanese in WWII. You see how far that got them.

The NYT will spend one day on that story then a week of stories rehabilitating them. End the end the Clintons will claim no knowledge of the day to day operations of the foundation and claim mistakes were made that have now been corrected. The NYT will then say "nothing to see here!" And it will be buried.

The aim of the story will have been to bring tothe public Clinton corruption, assist in covering up, then claim it´s old news in 2015-16 as to prevent it from harming a Hillary presidential run.

We all know how this works with liberals. They will never doing anything to set back the agenda.

The strategy is to get this out early. Never give a full explanation, then when the campaigning begins, say that you have addressed this before and never respond to questions asked. The lapdog media will never ask again and it will be a non-issue. However, if you put your dog in a crate and place it on top of your car, the media will continue to raise it as an issue decades later.

This is the end result of Obama´s Arab Spring.
Every Country he has meddled in has lost their leaders, some of whom were our allies for decades and now there is mass violence in that part of the World. Instead of playing golf he should personally go over to Egypt and give another speech. See if he can undo the chaos he has created. People are DYING because of his foreign policies. My opinion.

Search for and look at photos of people in Egypt in the 40´s and 50´s when women were dressed regularly and not wearing scarves and burkas, etc. Women were going to school and college and wearing skirts and looking like women instead of a moving tent.

At one time the Muslim world was not going backwards and was actually moving forward into an almost modern normality like much of the rest of the world.

Obama is still hip deep in the MB cause. Anyone remember this from June? Via Fox News:
"The deputy of radical Islamic cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi is claiming to have met with Obama administration officials at the White House earlier this month, according to the Investigative Project on Terrorism. Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah posted a purported picture of the meeting online, though the White House visitor’s log has no record of anyone by his name at present."

By supporting the MB he is also supporting Hamas and al-Qaeda. Our ME policy, built over many years, is in shambles.

There will much larger consequences if this continues on it´s present course. If the MB does in fact take over the Suez Canal, the ramifications will extend over all of western Europe and any other countries that depend on Middle East oil. It´s going to be interesting what THEY will do when it hits the fan. Will they jump in and help defeat the MB? I seriously doubt it. They will whine and complain and call for the US to do all the heavy work. And just look who is in charge here in the US? Going to be a real mess for the next couple of years or more.

This blood feud will not stop until the US is too broke to supply the radical islamists with weapons and money. This also means that we will then be too helpless to protect our own people.

When people are burning down Christian churches, that´s the first hint that they are serious about wiping out western civilization. Prepare for a bloody future.

Apparently obama is too stupid to realize that when the dust settles, he will also be considered a part of western civilization.

Can we realize that now that there are only a few real countries in the world? Egypt is ancient, well-located, has traded with every great nation and culture for 6,000 years or more, and led much of the world when under the pharaohs [who were, uhhh, Greeks]. But today, there´s no a lot of difference between Egypt, Haiti, or the sub-Saharan toilet "countries." Oh -- all of which have UN votes equal to ours.

#8: Good post, strong post. Hat tip. Well done.

#12: It´s too, too easy to broad-brush. Quite wrong as well. If "we Americans" [some 305-plus million of us!] are so ignorant of history, how do we get Post #8? The many other high-order posters here? Or the great VDH?

#16: There are several kinds of strength, and not all enemies see "victory" in terms we understand. 9/11/2001 was to them a huge "victory." Pyrrhus was Greek, not Islamic. Japan attacked an enemy that fought back hard. Islam attacks Liberty, and Lady Liberty´s home has "leaders" who say "there is no war." Conquest is easy then, certainly conquest by their measure. And with their measures. Look how the Ground Zero Victory Mosque effort is defended by the victims.

#20: I prefer "Go Exist. [Somewhere else.]"

#33: Good post. Thanks. We very much need to recall the previous Suez Canal dust-up. But today -- would Stinky really support an international effort to secure the canal? Or is he more likely to not just drag his feet, but to obstruct it? And who could act?

The Brits, an island nation twice nearly defeated by relatively-modest submarine warfare, "decided" that entitlements [much of which go to deadbeats, malcontents, and foreign non-assimilaters (read: enemies)] were more "necessary," are on their way to a "navy" [bitter laughs go here] of 22 ships. Germany has basically a dry-land military. Would need our airlift capabilities. France: likewise little naval power, and generally kind of a question-mark as to power-projection. Other military powers [Russia, China] would support the Egyptian troublemakers only to complicate life for the West at a cheap cost to themselves.

Ugh. Nothing on that list we´d ask Santa to bring us, is there?

#37: Many good points. Thanks. A lot of the participants we´d all like to see lose.

But there can and very well might be some serious negatives for us: a. real disruption to the world economy; b. many dead innocents [especially targeted Christians] in the region´ and c. real suffering of innocents around the world [including here] from the economic disruptions on top of the economic mess already created by the politicians. Could get really, really bad.

Yuck.

Notice what Obama has done. He won´t claim there is a coup so he can keep sending billions to Egypt; essentially supporting the military. Then he goes on television and denounces the military for killing people who are practicing peaceful protests, as if he´s on the side of the MB.

The man is trying to play both ends to the middle and will alienate both of them from us. He should be keeping his blabber mouth shut... but he can´t. Who and what he is? An idiot with no moral values would be close.

If President Obama’s 2012 campaign was known for anything, it was its voter mobilization operation, said to be the most sophisticated ever assembled in a presidential campaign. Which makes David Plouffe’s comments over the weekend all the more telling for Democrats as they look nervously toward the November midterm elections. When Republican David Jolly defeated Democrat Alex Sink in Florida’s 13th Congressional District a week ago, Democratic leaders explained away the outcome by arguing that the district tilted heavily in favor of the GOP in midterm and especially special elections. Brushing aside President Obama’s threat of more sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin annexed the Crimean region of Ukraine on Tuesday with the stroke of a pen, while NATO members criticized Washington for getting caught off guard by Russia’s military buildup. As the Russian national anthem played and cheering lawmakers wept, Mr. Putin and Crimean leaders signed a treaty in Moscow to make Crimea part of the Russian Federation, only two days after the region held a disputed referendum enforced by Russian troops. “In the hearts and minds of people, Crimea has always been and remains an inseparable part of Russia,”

President Obama on Monday slapped Russia with the kinds of economic sanctions not seen since the Cold War, but the administration’s supposed hard line was met with mockery and a “collective shrug” in Moscow, Kiev and Washington. One day after Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to secede from Ukraine and join Russia, the White House and its partners in the European Union responded by targeting high-ranking officials in Moscow along with pro-Russian figures responsible for the unrest in Ukraine. The move adds even more tension to a dramatic standoff between Russia and the West, but early signs suggest the latest round of

Hillary Clinton may well be the most "known" politician in the world. She and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have been on the national stage for more than two decades -- traveling from Arkansas to the White House to the Senate to the 2008 campaign trail and finally to the State Department. During that time, every look and utterance from Hillary has been examined, then examined again, then analyzed, then overanalyzed. That´s why this series of photos -- shot by LIFE magazine in 1969 as part of a feature on outstanding college students -- is so fascinating. It captures

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — The search for Malaysia’s missing airliner pushed on Monday across a vast spread of the Indian Ocean into the waters off western Australia as officials here contradicted earlier information that pointed to a planned takeover in the cockpit. The government had previously said that a key satellite communications system had been disabled sometime before the cockpit made final radio contact with air-traffic control — and before Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared from civilian radar contact on March 8 with 239 passengers and crew members on board. Listlessness is bad politics. Defensiveness is poor strategy. And resignation is never inspiring. You can feel elements of all three descending around President Obama as he fends off attack after attack from his conservative foes, who vary the subject depending on the day, the circumstance and the opportunity. This sense of drift inspired an explosion over the weekend of disparaging commentary (some of it coming, usually anonymously, from Democrats) about the president’s political infirmities. Obama and his party are in danger of allowing the Republicans to set the terms of the 2014 elections, just as they did four years ago.

There is growing panic among Democrats in Congress about the 2014 elections, and it is based on numerous factors that give them serious anxiety. In the Senate, Democrat Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire just found out that she will be challenged by former Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, who has received $600,000 from the Super-Pac American Crossroads, and Democrat Senator Mark Udall of Colorado is now being challenged by Rep. KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Malaysia´s prime minister said he believes that "deliberate action" caused the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines 3786.KU +2.13% Flight 370, and authorities are now focusing on two areas in the search for the plane. In the first definitive comments from the nation´s government on how the jet came to vanish March 8, Najib Razak said at a news conference Saturday that data relayed by the plane to a satellite has confirmed it turned from its original course. He added that the last satellite communication from the plane was at 8:11 a.m. Malaysia time, well past the scheduled arrival time

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Investigators have concluded that one or more people with significant flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, switched off communication devices and steered it off-course, a Malaysian government official involved in the investigation said Saturday. No motive has been established and no demands have been made known, and it is not yet clear where the plane was taken, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media. The official said that hijacking was no longer a theory. "It is conclusive," he said. He said evidence

Someone who is determined to disbelieve something can manage to disregard an Everest of evidence for it. So Barack Obama will not temper his enthusiasm for increased equality with lucidity about the government’s role in exacerbating inequality. In the movie “Animal House,” Otter, incensed by the expulsion of his fraternity, says: “I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture.” Such thinking gives us minimum-wage increases that do very little for very few. Meanwhile, there are farm bills, like the one Obama signed last month at Michigan State University. MSU was one of the models for

A week into the fruitless search for a missing Malaysian airliner, the focus returned to the possibility that a rogue pilot or hijackers took command of the plane as it flew north over the sea toward Beijing. That fear hinged on the erratic behavior of the plane after it stopped sending radar signals and an indisputable fact: Despite an exhaustive search of the waters that straddle Malaysia and farther into the Indian Ocean, no trace of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 has been found. “It’s looking less and less like an accident,” said a U.S. official who spoke on the

Mr. Biden’s trip is designed to send a visible message to Russia, reinforcing sanctions the

I had an extraordinary telephone conservation with my 86-year-old black dad, a lifelong Democrat and huge Obama fan. He called to ask me, “Is Obama anti-Christian?” Dad has been a Christian pastor for over 50 years. I said, “Dad, I have been telling you about Obama´s anti-Christian policies for the past five years.” Dad replied, “And I have not been listening.” Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House. I felt that dad was expressing the sentiments of many blacks of his era. I asked him to explain why

Catholic League president Bill Donohue is blasting beer companies that pulled their support for the St. Patrick´s Day parades this year. Donohue Mondaycalled for Catholics to boycott the companies behind Guinness, Heineken and Sam Adams for dropping their sponsorship of the parades in New York City and Boston over the refusal of organizers to allow gays and lesbians from marching under a banner. In an email, Donohue blamed the "bullying" against the parade on its "Catholic element." "I have had my last Guinness and Sam Adams. Heineken was always slop, so there is no sacrifice there," Donohue wrote. "I urge

First lady Michelle Obama "has been looking for an opportunity to go to China," a White House official said on Monday. And she considers it a "real treat" to take her daughters and her mother with her -- a trip she´s making at considerable expense to taxpayers, although the White House refused to give a dollar figure. "You know, the first lady has talked about the importance of young people here in the United States learning about other cultures. She believes that about her own children, and has seen this as a really unique opportunity to share a very different

White House executive pastry chef Bill Yosses is resigning after First Lady Michelle Obama fundamentally changed his job duties to focus on healthier food. Yosses is leaving the White House in June to work on a new project focusing on “food literacy” and The New York Times says Michelle is “partly to blame.” The openly gay chef was hired by Laura Bush in 2007 to make his trademark cookie plates and sugar sculptures. Mrs. Obama took over in 2009 and ordered Yosses to make healthier plates in smaller portions. (Snip) “I don’t want to demonize cream, butter, sugar and eggs,”

It captures

Error 404: U.S. officials plan to relinquish federal control over the administration of the Internet to something called the "global Internet community," which is full of tyrants to whom the free flow of information is a threat. In the wake of the NSA surveillance scandal, some might not be inclined to defend federal involvement in anything related to the flow of information between individuals. But the decision announced Friday by the Commerce Department to give up next year its oversight of Icann, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, to the "global Internet community" is a bad idea. “I think we’re in for a tsunami-type election in 2014,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus told the audience at Tuesday morning’s Christian Science Monitor breakfast in Washington, D.C. Looking ahead to this fall’s midterm elections, Priebus boldly predicted big gains for the GOP, especially in the Senate. ”My belief is, it’s going to be a very big win, especially at the U.S. Senate level, and we may add some seats in congressional races,” Priebus predicted. “But I need to and we need to at the RNC make sure that we can capture the positives and the benefits we’ve been

WASHINGTON—In what was described as a major ramping up of sanctions, Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Tuesday that the United States had frozen Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Netflix account, effective immediately. “Unless and until Mr. Putin calls off the annexation of Crimea, no more ‘House of Cards’ or ‘Orange Is the New Black’ for him,” Mr. Kerry said. “The United States will not stand by and reward the annexation of another sovereign nation with a policy of streaming as usual.” While all of the sanctions Mr. Kerry announced on Tuesday were Netflix-related, he warned Mr. Putin that
