Rafael Cruz: ‘Obamacare Is
Going to Destroy the Elderly’

National Review Online, by Katrina Trinko

Ames, Iowa – Rafael Cruz brought down the house. Speaking at The Family Leader Summit today, the father of Ted Cruz delivered an energetic speech that earned him one of the longest standing ovations of the day. “Our lives are under attack,” Cruz said of Obamacare. “We already saw what is happening with abortion. The same thing is happening at the other end with Obamacare. Obamacare is going to destroy the elderly by denying care, by even perhaps denying treatment of people [with] catastrophic sickness.” He also addressed religious liberty, saying “socialism requires that government becomes your god.”

Cruz definitely gets it. The elderly and, frequently, those of any age with a chronic debilitating health problem, will find themselves without access to certain procedures and tests. (For just two examples, see any search function in British online media and look for mammograms, Pap smears, kidney dialysis. Search also on locations for MRI, ultrasound and other scans, which are difficult and usually require a long waiting list to access.)

Sorry for additional post: please also beware of "Aging in Place" programs, blossoming in numerous communities all over the country, aimed at those older folks who are not cared for by their families for one reason or another. If you read about such programs, you´ll find they mean checks (inspections) of your home situation to make sure you´re living in what the community health worker considers a safe and healthy environment. This could exclude pets, for instance, (elderly people fall over things so easily, they cannot care for pets due to arthritis or whatever, the pet food is an expense they don´t need, etc.).

What it does include is "caring and helpful" neighbors who will "keep an eye" on you. I know most of my neighbors and they´re a bit too nosy for my liking. Furthermore, they don´t all think the way I do and I don´t want them reporting on me. I´m afraid to check the training criteria.

#1 is right on but didn´t the elderly vote in droves for obama? So the elderly continue to vote for Democrats and by doing so are shortening their own lives. No more expensive hip, knee replacements, pace makers, cancer treatments etc. Just take a pain pill. Nothing like an old fool I guess.

The simple truth about Obamacare told in a clear and concise manner could be a winner for Republicans but, they seem to be in hibernation mode. Anyone who speaks against it, must be marginalized because truth must be hidden by this administration.

They know if they can get Obamacare fully implemented, the rest of their evil plans will be easy. Make people dependent upon government for their healthcare and you have the ability to play god with people´s lives. You are the arbitrator of who lives and who dies. No longer will a doctor decide the care you receive, it will be all about meeting criteria set up by bureaucrats. They will decide what procedures, if any, you receive. Coding will be the key.

Obamacare is the first step in single payer which leads ultimately to population control a more benign means to an end than starvation and work camps. Genocide has always been the monster behind communism. This will be no different. They believe they are just smarter this time around. Make no mistake, their goal is to get rid of undesirables (conservatives/Christians), and they would round us up if they thought they could get away with it.

The unborn are being murdered; soon the elderly will be murdered. This is all a great plan to moan about how the U.S. doesn´t have enough people to keep the economy going so the U.S. will have to import more muzzies and indigents. Next thing you know the U.S. will be a muzzie nation. Look what´s already happening in Great Britain and Europe.

Considering the Elderly are more likely to vote Republican, it´s understandable. I heard that if only voters over thirty had been eligible to vote, Romney would have won in a landslide.

Maybe it should be renamed "Obamadon´tcare". And really, isn´t that the end game for anyone (and any country) that believes that killing innocent lives for any reason at all is a right, a "choice"? Babies, old people...are just so inconvenient.

Three-quarters of one´s medical costs come in the last year of life. The object is to keep costs down to make it all "affordable." It´s the legal imposition of that duty to die that Richard Lamm spoke of years ago. It´s the American "Final Solution." Red pill or blue pill...take some of the actual pain, too.

The oldsters here on this forum are very intelligent people and I value their input and experience. But I am sorry to remind them that organizations like the AARP were totally behind Obama and Obamacare. There are a lot of elderly who were bamboozled into voting for their own destruction by the lying democrats.

Unfortunately the lofo syndrome extends into segments of the elderly population in this Country also.

As for the AARPU, I saw what they were long ago, and dropped them. Does anyone remember how they were in opposition to Part D when the dims were against it? Now they sing a different tune. Also, check out the reviews on their health insurance they push. Never saw so many negative reviews on anything, except maybe the Ford Edsel.

Not only will Obamacare try to destroy the elderly, it will be the Youth who will suffer the most. With Obamacare they will have little chance to get ahead in life. This voting block will have nothing but The Impossible Dream staring back at them.
This is the group the Republicans need to target and go after with everything they have. They should set up town hall style meetings on every campus and inspire the young to vote for personal achievement and individual success and against government dependency and takeover of their future. They have to be bold not pastel in their message. Show statistics on a flip chart, demonstrate with videos and graphics how difficult their life will be going forward with a socialist style government. We need a charismatic figure who can touch this group with a sense of honest integrity and fearlessness. This is where The Republicans win in 2016.

If anyone would a little bit of time and effort to check, the AARP was founded, not to "serve the needs of the elderly" but to sell insurance. That´s what they do. And they try to hide that fact as cleverly as they can. So it´s no surprise that they would support Obozocare. Anything to make a buck.

I don´t recall seeing any statistics showing the elderly vote, (republican/democrat) from the 2012 election.

However, I do recall the ABSENCE of any obamacare opposition from senior groups while the monstrosity was being debated in congress.

And, let´s not forget the oft repeated theory that seniors are the most prolific voting block --- yet, their silence was deafening!

This reminds me of the movie, Logan´s Run. So when Obama Medical Center mandates we have chips inserted (similar to pets), there is likely to be more information on them than we are told.

´´In the domed city, men and women live in a society where you can only live until you are 30-years old (due to population control and limited resources), the people have two choices: They can either take part in a extermination ceremony called ´Carousel´ where they are promised a rebirth or they can go on the run and escape to outside the domed city.´´

The majority of us, the Elderly Rafael Cruz refers to in his excellent speech, have worked hard all our lives and saved via social security and personally. Some or most of our personal savings disappeared thanks to Wall Street and the government while the fat cats got fatter. And we are supposed to believe they have our best interests at heart? I am concerned on three levels as probably most of you are: myself, my children in the forties, and my grandchildren. We need to take the Senate and we need to expose and ´´bring to justice´´ all the fraudulent democrats.

It was the best of hugs; it was the worst of hugs. Or so the description might have gone had Charlie Crist labored a bit longer on his new memoir, in which the erstwhile governor of Florida—who is now campaigning for the job again—relives the fateful embrace with President Obama that he claims sunk his political fortunes in 2009. Rather than try for style, Crist renders the moment with the racy, staccato gusto that one might expect from a pulpy romance. “We shook hands. The new president leaned forward and gave me a hug. RICHGROVE, Calif. — In March 2013, a man with brooding, mahogany eyes and a walrus mustache traveled from his home in California to visit relatives in Alabama. The trip did not end well. When a business acquaintance insulted Jose Manuel Martinez´s daughter, Martinez put two bullets in the man´s head, officials said. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. That´s thanks to the letter House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp sent this week to the Justice Department recommending a criminal probe of Lois Lerner. The average citizen might be dizzied by the torrent of confusing terms—BOLO lists, Tigta, 501(c)(4)—and the array of accusations that have made up this IRS investigation. Mr. Camp´s letter takes a step back to remind us why this matters, even as it provides compelling new information that goes to motive and method—and clarifies some of

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle. Michael Parker and Flora Chang, at Sanford Bernstein, say we entering a new order of "global energy deflation" that must ineluctably erode the viability of oil, gas and the fossil fuel nexus over time.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Under the administration of President Obama, as never before in my lifetime, there is reason to be a bit afraid of the federal government. I have written two books documenting Obama´s abuses of power, his assaults on the Constitution, his wars against business and energy, his abominably reckless spending, his divisiveness, his renegade Justice Department, his regulatory expansion, his executive orders, his overall lawlessness, and more. Obama´s conduct concerning Obamacare alone would be enough to get the impeachment wheels rolling for any other president. His flagrant, deliberate lies regarding almost every aspect of that

The deportation of foreigners living illegally in the United States is similar to the forced internment of ethnic-Japanese Americans in World War II, according to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. “I’ll be very honest with you: Looking at the numbers at some point, in terms of how people are treated and deported and families separated and the rest, this has a scent of Japanese internment,” Pelosi told a Politico reporter. “It’s really a black mark,” said Pelosi. Roughly 110,000 ethnic-Japanese immigrants and their American children were detained during World War II after Japan’s sneak attack on Americans in Pearl Harbor. Pelosi also urged Obama
