Obama’s Presser: What the
Media Did and Didn’t Ask

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

Here’s a live log of the questions the media asked after President Obama’s scoldy opening statement regarding four reforms he is proposing to rein in his own domestic surveillance. First question, Julie Pace of AP — Pace asked Obama about the US-Russian relationship after Putin granted Edward Snowden asylum. Obama manages to work in another statement in favor of gay rights after taking a swing or two at Putin. Oh, and the US won’t boycott the Olympics in Russia. Don’t call Barack Obama another Jimmy Carter! Second question, Chuck Todd of NBC — Todd asked Obama whether he now thinks

I tried to watch but when I heard the questions being asked, I turned it off. I knew the Press was not going to ask him anything about Benghzai or the IRS scandal. Not one had the audacity to ask him where he was on the night of the Benghazi attack. Would they have let that go by if Bush had been President. Nah. Did anyone else notice Obama´s poor grammar? He must not have done well in English.

You can see why he prefers his teleprompter to live questioning.
Now if the slobbering press would just ask him real questions....

The man´s not bright and he was elected POTUS twice. What does that say about the 51% who voted for him?

for the 49%, they have exactly what they want in a President. And I would bet there were about ..oh.... 2% of those that voted for him that even knew he had a presser.

Who cares if he spouts lies and outright contradictions? Just another moment to get through before heading to what he really wants to do.... vacation on our money. And before I hear one more pundit say how Bush spent as much time on vacation, I would like to ask how much we paid for him to clear brush on his ranch?

Other than dishonest democrats and the low info voters, of which there are many of both, rational people are realizing Obama is a fraud. It´s time to call out, by name, individual members of the old media for their journalistic fraud as well. Obama is not even an honest socialist.

I watched the "press conference" (sic) long enough to see what Obama was up to. He was pressured to hold it after his Leno disaster. He clearly wanted to keep the focus on the NSA and Snowden. I think he had discussed the subject with CBS and AP prior. CBS actually went to press with Obama´s NSA plan before the conference was even over! AP (as usual) led off by opening the door for him to ramble on about it. They then handed the baton to Chuck Todd as a lead in to allow him to bloviate further.

There was a major revelation for me. If you get a chance to watch this farce then look closely at Ed Henry as he asks his question. The abject fear in his eyes is palpable. Obama has these people literally quaking in their boots. He shoots daggers at them and they wilt. I had never noticed it before.

#12 you are absolutely right! Henry dropped the ball when the question he should have asked is: Where were you on the night of the Benghazi attack and why do you consider this a phony scandal. He was a disappointment, as well as Major Garrett. That question was pathetic considering all the other critical issues facing this nation right now. Larry Sabato made the most perfect comment regarding this press conference. He said it´s obvious that filibustering doesn´t only take place in the Senate. Amen to that.

Other questions that need to be answered by America´s "open government" and "full disclosure" 44th POTUS. Just for starters...(1) Why are your medical records sealed? (2) Why are your school records sealed? (3) Why are your birth/passport records sealed? (4) Why are your legislative/scheduling records from the Illinois State Senate missing? (5) Who paid for your ultra-expensive "education" at Punahou School, Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School? (6) Why are your applications to all these schools either missing or not available? (7) Why are there no student loan records available from Punahou School, Occidental College, Columbia University or Harvard Law School? (8) What was your relationship with Khalid Al-Mansour, of the Sunni Muslim Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during your time at Harvard? (9) Why do your Selective Service records reflect a 2008 registration number when you were in your forty-seventh year? (10) Why do you have multiple Social Security Numbers?
Tick...tick...tick...

Yes, it´s depressing that even Fox couldn´t get any more incisive. They´re probably walking on egg shells to keep from getting excluded again.

As for Zip´s grammar, I hate to take up for him in any way, but wish people would give examples of any bloopers for those of us who didn´t watch the presser. I actually haven´t noticed his grammar being any worse than that of other prezzies. Remember W´s "new-Q-lur"? Of course that was pronunciation and not grammar, and I realize that he was probably just being stubborn and tongue-in-cheek by persisting in that...

Some needs to ask his purpose of having his own presidential museum since his past experiences tend to keep all records sealed and away from public view.

Or ask what his opinion might be if someone prepared fictitious records and presented them as true and correct---what should happen to such person.

Or ask if he feels a cover-up of a crime is more serious than the crime itself and what should happen to those involved in the crime and cover-up.
I would like to hear response to simple questions as these Without the Teleprompter.

When I first started hearing people on the political left describe themselves with some frequency as progressive back in the 1990s, the term did not seem tethered to the epoch-defining, early-20th-century spasm of moral crusading and government centralization that helped give us everything from trust busting to Prohibition to the Federal Reserve. As articulated by champions like Ralph Nader and Molly Ivins, the progressive label was both a way to get out from under the generation-old baggage of liberal-a term Ronald Reagan and others had turned into an epithet-and to differentiate lefties from seemingly apologetic triangulators like Bill Clinton and

For political junkies desperate for clues to the hottest House, Senate and governors’ races around the country, April is the cruelest month. While Illinois and Texas primaries were held last month, the 48 remaining state contests don’t start up again for three weeks. Here’s the good news for those of us hoping to determine whether Democrats or Republicans will be celebrating in the fall: From early May to early September, we’ll have a steady stream of conventions, primaries and runoffs to keep us busy. We’ve already learned a little from the first two contests. On March 4, Texas told us two contradictory

Bad as Obama’s poll numbers are, they bode worse for Congressional Democrats. Obama is being buoyed by continued strong support from Democrat voters. The problem for Congressional Democrats is that November’s election outcome will not be determined in Democrat strongholds. Recent Quinnipiac polling data (released April 2, of 1,578 registered voters nationwide, with a MOE of +/-2.5%) showed the president with a deeply negative rating on his handling of the economy: 40% approval and 55% disapproval. The Supreme Court has made pretty clear that putting your money where your mouth is deserves broad protection as a form of free political speech. The justices are about to consider whether outright lying in a campaign deserves a similar First Amendment shield. The court’s recent decisions easing the flow of generous campaign contributions already shifted the electoral landscape. If the court finds that even the most patently outrageous statements about candidates may not be barred by law, those two decisions combined could expand the rhetorical battlefield of the midterm elections and raise the attack ad volume as never before. As soon as the photograph of Soviet propaganda posters in Jay Carney’s kitchen hit the Internet, right-wing pundits began to draw conclusions about White House Press Secretary’s ideology, morals, and political leanings. It was as if things that a man merely places on his walls and looks at day after day can be any indication of his life choices. If that were so, the meals in Carney’s kitchen would also probably match the menu of the place and time of the posters. His family would be living on a diet of beets, gruel, occasional rat, and thinly sliced boiled jackboots, which

BUNKERVILLE, NEVADA—The Bundy Ranch roundup has understandably stirred thin-stretched emotions as the federal government seizes cattle belonging to the Bundy family. The family settled in the late 1800’s and has ranched in the area since. The federal government allowed Nevada ranchers to graze their cattle on federal tracts of land adjacent to their private properties for generations. The federal government later created the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to administer and “protect” the vast swaths of federal land—including the land the Bundy family’s livelihood was—and still is—dependent upon. The BLM began restricting ranchers’ usage of federal lands to protect various

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
