Oprah To NBC: Trayvon Martin’s
Killing ‘In My Mind, Same

In an exclusive interview for The Grio, NBCUniversal’s African-American news and opinion website, Oprah Winfrey weighed in with her unvarnished thoughts on the killing of Trayvon Martin and the acquittal of George Zimmerman. Winfrey said that, in her mind, Martin’s murder and that of Emmett Till in 1955 – whose killers were also acquitted – were the “same thing.” However, she added that it is important to keep in mind how much race relations in America have progressed over the last half-century. In a clip of the interview which aired on NBC’s Today, Oprah told The Grio’s Chris

Comments:
Any pretense that she may have had is gone that she is not as big a racist as Sharpton and the rest of those miscreants. She is all in. There´s no turning back now. She and her outrageous comparison completely disgust me. I look forward to that comparison of the group of black men in Tennessee who tortured and murdered that white couple. s/o

Gee, I guess I missed that part of history where Emmett Till was a drugged out gang-banger wanna-be who attacked a Hispanic man who turned out to be armed and killed Till is self-defense.

Well, that is good that we cleared that up.

Wait, you mean that ISN´T what she meant??? I´m confused. That is the only possible reason she could said something like that -- unless she is a huge racist or something...

The msm and the liberal universities have done a masterful job at pure brainwashing feeble minded white folks to assume the mantle of guilt for slavery

I agree with #8. Over the last four years I have seen open anger and hate. The chip on the shoulder has become a log and is no longer hidden.
I see no goodwill, and have doors to stores slammed in my face. No courtesy, downright hostility towards an elderly stranger entering a store/bank behind them. Make eye contact with a young one and hatred shows in their eyes.

There is only so much that can be done for race relationships from one side. Politicians have bent over backwards to ensure equality, in some cases to swing it in favor of blacks. The vast majority of whites have thrown off their prejudices. But until the black community gathers itself up and joins the rest of the world and loses it´s gang banger image there will never be equality. White people do not lock their car doors because a black man crosses the street near them, they do it because a thug that looks like they would just as soon kill them as look at them crosses the street. There is a big difference, the latter is not prejudice, it is common sense.

The fact that race was irrelevant in both cases?

A black Chicago teen makes immoral suggestions of a sexual nature to a married black woman of 21 in 1950s Chicago, or 2013 Chicago, ends up dead... not news.

A white Chicago teen doing the same in a southern town in the 1950s with a married white woman of 21... the same result was possible. The outraged husband protecting his fearful wife.

Race would not have been considered a factor in either case, but the nation was ready for a dramatic story of racial injustice. Something to allow them to feel more righteous than "those southern racist whites!" So the race of the teenager became the center of the story.

Oprah injected Trayvon Martin into an interview which was featured in the Sunday, 8/4 issue of Parade Magazine, which comes with our local newspaper. She isn´t just telling this to The Grio.

She seems completely oblivious (probably deliberately so) to the facts of that case. She goes on to say that we haven´t completely achieved MLK´s dream.

I´ll be skipping "The Butler." Oprah and Jane Fonda in one movie is just too much.

OW has been a huge racist from her very beginnings. Her associaion with the Obamas has been hysterical in the comedy and the betrayal of it. She´s such a "Black", same as Øbama and his "Wookie". they can´t escape their skin and that´s a shame. she says we should remember how far race relations have come in America since ´55 when Till was murdered, and then she does all she can to tear apart that progress? She´s pretty much making no sense, which tells me she´s speaking from a pressure place- the Black Racists have been pushing her to form an anti-white stance to reinforce the black base that has been evaporating under the Øbama´s- so, this is how she satisfies that bunch of "Black Sheets". Oh, well.

Marco Rubio is beefing up his political action committee, making significant high-level changes to it and his senatorial staff. The changes are intensifying speculation that Rubio – who many thought that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would pick to be his vice president in 2102 – is preparing the terrain for the 2016 presidential race. Publicly, Rubio, a Florida Republican, has said he has not yet decided whether to aim for the White House in two years, or whether he’ll seek re-election to the Senate. His announcement, on his website, suggested he might be looking at running in 2016, but stopped short of

A recent survey of 148 insurance brokers shows that ObamaCare is sending premiums rising at the fastest clip in decades. "For the last, about, five years they´ve been doing this survey, so this was the largest percentage increase in any quarter since they´ve been doing (it)," says Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute. "But at 12 percent, 11 percent increase on average across all the states -- that puts it at the upper end of any increase we´ve seen for decades." That is the national average in a survey done by Morgan Stanley. But in some states, it found rates are soaring. "There are specific states with exorbitant increases," says Gottlieb.

4 We told you a few weeks back that the Obama Administration was prepared to take an astonishing step of surrender, even for this crew, in giving up control of the Internet’s domain name system. That would threaten the Internet’s independence as it would create an opportunity for regimes far less friendly to freedom to step in and gain power and influence. Well, this idea was so horrendous that even Bill Clinton, in addition to 35 Republican senators, spoke up and told the administration not to do it, as well as a great many other voices. Guess what. Presumably, Google paid more than that to keep it away from Facebook. It sounds like Titan will work on a variety of projects for Google.
