The Dependably Unfaithful Colin Powell
American Thinker, by Jeannie DeAngelis

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 8/5/2013 6:42:46 AM

In 2008 and then again in 2012, after retired four-star General Colin Powell endorsed and then voted for Barack Obama, the former Secretary of State´s sanity was already in question. At least now, after having his email account hacked by high-level security-breacher Guccifer, Colin Powell´s besmirching of the Republican Party´s "shift to the right" and "identity crisis" finally makes sense. It seems that for years the mannerly and always professional Colin Powell has been cyber-comporting with a 46-year-old Romanian European Parliament member, Social Democrat, and past spokesperson for Romanian president Ion Iliescu named Corina Cretu

Powell is an ingrate to the republican party and looks for excuses to disavow them. Plus he loves his invitations to the cocktail circuits.I´m sure he doesn´t have a problem with Obama gutting the military.

Who else had access to those emails? Well, who monitors all emails? What a coincidence, Petraeus, too. The vulnerable generals. Who else is vulnerable? Any Supreme Court Justices? Speakers of the House?

Finally. The rest of the United States gets to see the same Colin Powell the Army has observed for many years. The faithless Powell serves Colin, first and always.

Many, many retired Colonels are reading this and smiling this morning. They always knew "what goes around, comes around." Said Colonels just thought they would never get to see it happen so brilliantly to the Great Colin Powell. Hehehe.

Powell remained silent while Scooter Libby was FALSELY accused of a leak that came out of Powell´s aide Armitage.

Wonder how many of the elites knew all about Powell´s extra curricular activities.

I admit there is nothing quite as satisfying as getting the truth - or confirmation of the truth - even months or years after the fact.

Powell´s wife was portrayed as Saint Alma for not wanting to go through a bruising campaign fight. Now we know that she knew - her husband was playing away....another ´diplomat´ risking extortion or worse.

So the great Gen. Powell who was a C student who made it to the top through Affirmative Action has been caught with his pants down. LOL! He proved his loyalty to the Republican Party by voting for Obama. He proved his loyalty to America by having an affair with a Socialist. He sounds like a Democrat to me.

Never miss a DeAngelis essay. Nobody does it better, has a better command of the language. Maybe Hanson and Steyn. But she is really one of a kind.

To say that she nails Powell for his "dependable" infidelity - whether it be to his wife or the Republican party and what it stands for - is an understatement.

Read it.

Powell, just like Obama, promoted way above his abilities. Powell, whose parents emigrated to the US from jamaica, and like Obama, no historical legacy of American slavery, sure has benefitted from the color of his skin.

So many great comments above. Especially #2´s last question - "Who else is vulnerable? Any Supreme Court Justices? Speakers of the House?"

When Chief Justice John Roberts made his irrational judgement about Obamacare, my first thought was that Obama had something on him. He is a nice-looking guy as well as being powerful.

What is it with powerful men - don´t they understand that sweet, adorable, articulate, smart women who are not their wives are probably looking for something more than a platonic relationship?

I will say this for the asshat, he did have sense enough not to run knowing this would come out. That would have just given the msm more ways to smear Pubs as being sleazy. Powell, as can now be confirmed, is much closer to being a democrat. Stupid, too, as is true of every single person who voted for Zero.

Colin Powell (His Toadship)
has that arrogant, condescending demeanor and speaks with an air of importance. For years and years it´s been apparent he needs to "be seen" at all the right parties and functions. Powell craves being admired, worshipped and looked up to. Who´s he kidding? Not many now, thankfully.

So it´s safe to say that Colin Powell was probably the one in the throes of an "identity crisis."

There is no "identity crisis"; he is a moral cretin and a reprobate. We should follow our gut instincts: The tipoff was when Republican Powell voted for Obama. There was nothing more we needed to know about Powell after that.

One thing I know for sure. This beautiful ´communist sympathizer´ was not in love with Powell. Give me a break. She infiltrated our state dept. Our Secretary of State! He didn´t get that beautiful stuff for free. He didn´t just betray his wife, he betrayed America. Who was the genius that appointed this cad to such a high position? And who appointed Roberts as well to the SCOTUS?

Geez, what is it with the General Staff of our Armed Forces? Every time a general is PR´d into a demigod, it later turns out that he was reveling in conduct unbecoming. Powell is just the latest to be outed over the past year or so.

As for Powell´s being unfaithful to the GOP, it has long been obvious that this was a one-sided relattionship, and the only real allegiance Powell had was to his own ambition.

The Romanian Chickie-pie may be on to big bucks. She has her side of the story to tell- she was dumped after giving him the best years of her life slaving over a keyboard.

I found the man weak back in the days of the first Iraq war when we could have gone in further and finished off the enemy. Later, he acted like he was doing George Bush the second a favor by being Secretary of State.

I do think the administration had the goods on him along with Petraeaus, and do not doubt, on Justice Roberts as well.

Past time for lots of "dark secrets" to be unveiled. Not that I am interested in secrets, but I am very interested in the blackmail machine that is destroying our country with it´s use of arm wrenching to secure support for the Marxist/communist regime now in place.

I can easily picture ValJar and Axelclod as the two-headed beast that uses blackmail to secure support for their hideous agenda.

What do they have on Chief Justice Roberts? something of a family nature? With John Boehner, it could be a hill of corruption.

Still, why would we trust our freedom and liberty to those who are easily blackmailed due to their lack of judgment, or desire to secure power over the penchant to be moral?

You would think that a guy who was an officer in the military during the Cold War years would have a sort of died-in-the-wool reluctance to go on Facebook or to be so careless with e-mail correspondence -

he would have certainly been considered a security risk during the Cold War if he had conducted himself in this manner -

and who decided the Cold War was over, anyway?

Reminds me of Clinton´s protest, "I did not have sex with that woman"! Yeah, sure. Powell´s support of obama should not have been a surprise to anyone-----with blacks, race trumps everything else. Why do you think 95% of them voted for an inexperienced, unqualified, unknown hack for president? Solely because he is black. The other 5% were too senile, hung-over or illiterate to mark the ballot correctly. Powell owes his entire latter career to white republicans and yet he shows his ____a__ to those that helped him and very publically supports an incompetent socialist only because he is black. With this kind of judgment, this guy shouldn´t have been leading a platoon much less an army. That´s affirmative action for you.

I totally agree with Posters. I said, right after the story on Powell, that this was a shot across the bow. Petreaus and Powell were no longer useful idiots to the administration. They had been used to full advantage. They were used as an example to other imbedded, vulnerable politicians.

But, the WARNING to other Republican decision makers is clear: "You step out of line, and YOU will be ruined."

I have the same suspects who act out of character. Boehner, Roberts, Graham, McCain and other Republicans who vote against us on key votes. It is not an idle threat. Their careers, families, income, social position would all be destroyed.

MG John Hudachek, Commander of the 4th Infantry Division saw Powell for what he was. He rated Powell a poor leader. Probably saw Powell for what he was...an affirmative action wannabe. Real soldiers don´t tolerate this and Hudachek saw through the thin veneer of a perfumed prince. Another real soldier Col David Hackworth would also have seen Powell as a ticket punching perfumed prince promoted by politicians.

As the labor movement tells the story, two months ago, the silly, ungrateful Volkswagen factory workers in Tennessee foolishly rejected the generous invitation of the company and the United Auto Workers to welcome the Detroit-killing union with open arms. In an election supervised by the federal National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the workers in VW´s Chattanooga plant rejected UAW representation by a vote of 712 to 626. Amazingly, the UAW and the automaker both refuse to take the workers´ "no" for an answer. The two sides are acting in unison to overturn the democratically expressed will of the workers. For more than 160 years, Henry David Thoreau´s essay on Civil Disobedience has inspired Americans to "make known what kind of government would command his respect" so that we could live under that government in good conscience. Ultimately, in a free society, that´s all we have that is truly our own; our conscience. Following its dictates, says Thoreau, is the only rational way to live your life and be true to oneself. It had been years since I read Civil Disobedience and I was surpised by how Cliven Bundy´s words echoed many of the theses in the essay. Legal experts overwhelmingly agree

A Soros-funded nonprofit New Yorker magazine called “one of the most important radical environmental groups in the country” has issued a statement denouncing the Bureau of Land Management‘s (BLM) decision to back away from a showdown with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and hundreds of supporters. A scientist for The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) blasted BLM saying the federal agency “has a sacred duty to manage our public lands in the public interest…instead it is allowing a freeloading rancher and armed thugs to seize hundreds of thousands of acres of the people’s land as their own fiefdom.” CBD is funded by Earthjustice

Alas, another reporter asked me the same question I have been repeatedly asked for the past five years. “As an African-American, why are you a member of the Tea Party?” It dawned on me to ask the reporter, “If you are a thinking patriotic American, why are you not a member of the Tea Party?” It is stunning that reporters cannot see the absurdity and racism against white voters in their assumption that Tea Party membership (pushback against Obama's agenda) equals racism. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
