White House insiders say President Barack Obama is in “a funk” about what he sees as increasing stagnation and failures surrounding his second term and some worry that the President is becoming more distant and distracted. “He’s not the same Obama that came to the Oval Office after the 2008 elections,” a senior White House aided confided to friends in an email recently. “I’m worried.” Chicago Mayor and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel tells friends that the Presidency has changed his longtime friend Obama and many of those changes are “not good.”
Riiiiight!!! Another story out there trying to make people think he is just so worried about the country ..and we should feel sorry for him. This is just to throw the citizens off while he vacations with the rich "folk" and does his dirty work in secret. Maybe he has jet lag..s/o

Is zippy in a funk? Now he see´s how the rest of the country feels as a result of his failed policies. He should feel bad, it´s about time he woke up to the fact that he is the worst President that we have ever had.
I chuckled over the last line, where they lament that Obama has turned out to be "more Bush than Bush". They have no clue that they turned Bush into a caricature unlike who he really was...and now they are complaining when they see Obama´s outline in the caricature they themselves created!
Obama, the charismatic wunderkind,is now said to be in a funk, and more like the despised G.W.Bush than anyone suspected? Ha. Except without the honor, tha respect for the American people, the unabashed patriotism and the God-fearing humility, that is, Other than that....and the inability to surround himself with capable and smart advisors... And the inability to wrap his little mind around what and who made this the greatest nation The greatest on Earth, ... Other than that, and a few other little things, why he is just GWB redux. What happened to Mr. Sneering I won? And Mr. braggart Hey, I´m good at this?
"Distracted and distant Obama"??? - I do believe they are referring to the same man who used to vote "present" when he was a U.S. Senator from Illinois. The problem with political operatives is that they don´t think anyone remembers anything.
Obama´s greatest ´accomplishment´ is wildly unpopular, even before Obamacare takes full affect. Al Qaeda has us hiding under the desks in the Middle East, and unemployment remains at what used to be called catastrophic levels. A couple weeks on Martha´s Vineyard at a $10 million estate should fix all that./s off
I´ve said it before and I´ll say it again, as someone who had someone very close to me addicted to alcohol and drugs. We are trying to rationalize irrational behavior. We are in denial. Fact IS Obama acts just like my loved one. What is he doing on that golf course so much? In his overly frequent travels? I guess we´ll have to wait 50 years to find out just how impaired he is now. Anyone hear about an annual physical exam for this guy? He is surrounded by enablers.
Could it be that he has discovered that he is NOT the smartest man in any room, or that being President is hard but fortunately he is very good at it. (He actually IS very good at it: singlehandedly he is forever changing our system of checks and balances, and of course the compliant Media never says a word.)
Maybe he´s just in love with himself, and his self keeps rejecting him as the leftist loser he has always been. No matter how much he offers expensive vacations, extravagant parties and golf with Tiger, his self isn´t impressed. "I know you love yourself more than anything, but frankly, your self can´t stand being around you."
Perhaps Vslerie Jarrett will sign Obama´s resignation letter so that this heartless, soulless person can do something other than destroy a once vibrant country,

This is a head fake. Obama, his minions, and his overlord, Valerie Jarrett are thrilled and excited over what they have accomplished. These people are not worried, they can not believe how the destruction of America is going as planned.
Of course he´s depressed! He´s never spent two years in one job without obsessively plotting for his next move up the career ladder. Now not only is he expected to be accountable for results but they only place to move is down.
He´s depressed and he doesn´t have the balls to change course. He´s found out that Daddy´s socialism doesn´t work at all; that his Marxist professors were wrong. That the Middle East thinks he´s a fool.
He´s in a funk??? Good God this man has ruined everything he has stuck his nose in which is exactly what he wanted. As he heads off to another taxpayer vacation I have lost my health insurance, my husband has been unemployed for almost two years, my son moved back home, I have not had a raise in four years. Every month it is a battle to try and pay bills and buy groceries. And he is in a funk. I hate this inept excuse for a president and all the idiots who supported him on any level.
I know people from the 1970s who are pothead burnouts, who act like Barack. We have been sold a bill of goods that marijuana is a harmless drug, but when used in those formative years, it goofs up the brain, permanently. So when a black stoner came along who didn´t frighten us, we elected him president.
When Hilter was in ´his funk´ he solved his funkiness with a .32 Walther to his brainpan and a cinide pill for good measure. I wouldn´t expect the greatest man on earth, Obama, to do this but a resignation would be nice. Obama isn´t in a big enough ´funk´ for my liking until he resigns to end all this purposeful madness.
I´m always dumbfounded when I see Obama described as "charismatic." From the day I saw him declare his candidacy in Illinois, I have seen him as nothing more than a phony, an empty suit, and a liar who has the inexplicable ability to make gullible people believe what he´s saying. There are many words that could describe Obama, but the word "charisma" is the last one I´d choose.
What piece of doggie doo; 0bama has always been distant. Remember Benghazi; well, after the news of four Americans being murdered, he went to bed and the next morning he got in his big plush plane and flew to Las Vegas. Christmas he flew twice to Hawaii for his Million Dollar Vacation, he spent another Million Dollars flying to play golf with Tiger, he spent 100 Million on a jaunt to Africa, and next month he will spend another few Millions on his vacation at Martha´s Vineyard. Yea, he is distant, all right.

A phoney funk. Our phoney funk. Democrats easing into plans to remove him from office? Doubtful. Hey guys phoney funk works so hard for you peons so be nice to him and do what he says..yep this more likely their intentions We should feel sorry for him and his scrawny but
He is what he always has been: a shell which is not focused on anything but himself. He is the one who started to write a book race relations and ended up writing a book about himself which he could not finish. After two years of dithering, he let Bill Ayers finish it for him. I remember he went to Bali to work on it. He is a joke and the Press and Democrats like Emmanuel and Axelrod have only themselves to blame. He never was who they claimed him to be and the rest of the world knows it.
He isn´t changed, this is the real Obama, the one who voted "present", the one who was described by law school colleagues as lazy and disinterested, the one who is just too arrogant to deal with everyday mortals.
We can´t blame Obama. There are arrogant, narcissists, leftist lurking around every political corner just hoping for a citizenry stupid enough to swallow their lies and bilge. Our danger lies in the fact that Obama now has such a citizenry.
Given the opportunity these people will elect another one just like him or worse.
i have a non-intrusive answer to the President´s problem. He and his family should take a nice long vacation, wherever, as long as they are completely out-of-contact with the real World ( since they already are anyways ). Just come back in Feb 2017 for the Presidential inauguration. By taking these steps, Obama will insure the U.S. and the rest of the World are much better off.and he will be rested, relaxed, renewed, and ready to start preparations for his new library and speaking/book tours. Maybe even a movie or singing gig. I believe that millions of us will send donations to help him fund the vacation should he accept this suggestion.
I think #33 is right on the mark. I knew a pothead burnout in the past also and he acted very similar to the way Obama acts now. Obama will only get worse and worse as time goes by. Right now he mostly babbles nonsense and lies. He will get more unstable with time and probably become more nasty and dangerous. He is a one-trick pony who is mentally ill but surrounded by a cocoon of sycophants and a corrupt media.
The Sexiest Man Alive is being enlisted to spice up Obamacare. Pop singer Adam Levine, who won the designation from People magazine last month, is among the celebrities who’ll be promoting enrollment in online health insurance exchanges as part of a social media campaign kicking off tomorrow. With enrollment totals behind administration projections after the botched start-up of the federal exchange, 17 state exchanges joined by an advocacy group are drawing on Obama administration allies in entertainment and sports to promote sign-ups, using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Reprising a tactic President Barack Obama successfully employed in his 2012 re-election, organizers
Temple student Walter Smolarek remembers feeling energized when he heard Mumia Abu-Jamal’s voice directed at him. “People, especially young people, can and must build movements that can force politicians to address issues of social justice,” Abu-Jamal, a radical who was convicted of the 1982 murder of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner, said in a taped recording played at the Asian Arts Initiative on Saturday. (Snip) Tauheedah Shukriyyah Asad, 29, agrees—and believes Abu-Jamal may be this generation’s Nelson Mandela. “Mumia is doing more in jail than most people are doing out in the world,” she says. “He’s still writing,
The White House is declining to comment on reports in South Africa that the man who provided alleged sign interpretation of President Obama´s tribute to Nelson Mandela on Tuesday is a fake. (Snip) White House spokesman Josh Earnest referred questions to the South African government. It would be "a shame" if this incident became "a distraction" from the many tributes to Mandela, including the one from Obama, Earnest said. "This was an historic event," Earnest said. Loening added: "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." At times he looked like
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services told contractors not to cooperate with Congress’s efforts to investigate work related to the Obamacare website, a top Republican lawmaker said. (snip)The department may have sent similar letters to other contractors working on the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, wrote Issa, a California Republican and chairman of the House oversight committee. The department’s actions constitute “criminal obstruction of a congressional investigation,” he said in the letter. Joanne Peters, a health agency spokeswoman, didn’t provide immediate comment on Issa’s accusations.
TRENTON — The George Washington Bridge flap just went national. A Democratic group connected to Hillary Clinton is launching an attack against Gov. Chris Christie based on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s closure of lanes to the nation’s busiest bridge, according to a report on CNN.com. (snip)“Correct the Record, formed in part to defend Hillary Clinton, is an arm of American Bridge, an pro-Democratic group that specializes in opposition research. The group launched a graphic Tuesday showing the Republican Garden State leader in front of the George Washington Bridge with a traffic sign that says ‘political retribution’ and
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield said it will not renew any small group or individual health plans that were set to expire after this year, despite receiving permission to do so by New Jersey’s insurance regulator. In a statement, Horizon said it was impossible to issue new health plans under a tight time frame before the end of the year. "Horizon BCBSNJ has been working to implement the Affordable Care Act for the past three and a half years, and undoing our work and essentially creating new plans in three weeks has proven to be impossible," said Thomas Rubino, the insurer’s director
U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8th Dist.), who immigrated to the United States from Cuba as a child, today slammed President Obama for shaking hands with Cuban President Raul Castro at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service in South Africa. “I was disappointed to view the handshake between President Obama and the Cuban dictator Raul Castro at what was a moving service to memorialize Nelson Mandela,” Sires said in a statement. Sires is an outspoken critic of the Cuban government. When Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) — another Cuban-American — was going through a series of scandals early this year, Sires suggested that the controversy could
New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez popped the question to girlfriend Alicia Mucci in the Capitol Rotunda Monday. Menendez, who has two children from his first marriage, celebrated his engagement at the White House Congressional Ball, hosted by Joe Biden since President Obama traveled to South Africa for Nelson Mandela´s funeral. The news was first reported by Politico´s Mike Allen but Tuesday morning, Menendez took to Twitter to thank "my family & friends for their love & congrats." Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was among those who passed on their good wishes on Twitter. Please spell out source
On the day of Nelson Mandela’s death the South African Communist Party chose to reveal a fact that it had long denied: that he was a party member. Indeed, at the time of his arrest he was on the Central Committee. The statement read: "At his arrest in August 1962, Nelson Mandela was not only a member of the then underground South African Communist Party, but was also a member of our Party´s Central Committee... After his release from prison in 1990, Cde Madiba became a great and close friend of the communists till his last days." Commenting on this revelation,
A Delaware bankruptcy judge has approved court documents outlining a sale process for failed electric-vehicle maker Fisker Automotive The judge on Tuesday granted interim approval of Fisker´s description of its bankruptcy plan and the process for creditors to vote on it, although he expressed concerns about the quick pace with which the case was moving. Attorneys for the committee of unsecured creditors said they agree with the current case schedule. Anaheim, Calif.-based Fisker, which had planned to build cars in Delaware, filed for bankruptcy protection last month, ending a long downward spiral after receiving a $529 million loan commitment from the U.S.
Obamacare realities just became a little more intense in the Bluegrass State. Requirements in the Affordable Care Act presented Kentucky Dr. Stephen Kiteck with obstacles he “just couldn’t overcome.” This tweet helped uncover the story: Dr. Kiteck verified the ad to Townhall Tuesday: “It’s pretty basic really. The reason is that Obamacare requires electronic medical records and electronic prescribing and I simply don’t have the finances at this time to go into debt to provide that for my office, it would just be a complete new transfer of electronic equipment in my office for that. So for me, at my age, I’m just not
Former President Jimmy Carter told NBC News on Monday that he places Nelson Mandela alongside Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mother Teresa as exemplars of inspiration and moral virtue in world history. In an interview with Brian Williams from Johannesburg, the 39th president said that Mandela belongs among figures to be looked upon “with a great deal of admiration.” “They weathered very difficult times, they came through with flying colors, they inspired other people,” Carter said. “I think that Nelson would go down in history as one of the leading people of the century.” Carter is in South Africa to attend a
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
Say goodbye to the 60-watt incandescent bulb. This year manufacturers started phasing out 100w and 75w bulbs. On January 1 it will become illegal to import or manufacture traditional 60w and 40w bulbs too. Time to stock up? Not so fast. First, check out Cree’s energy-sipping new 75-watt replacement bulb. I used to be outraged over the federal government’s draconian moves to outlaw traditional lightbulbs. For 100 years we’ve lived and thrived under the warm glow of incandescent lightbulbs. Aside from the fact that 90% of the electricity used by the bulbs is radiated in the form of heat rather than
