White House holds high-level
meeting over security threat

Reuters, by Jeff Mason

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/4/2013 5:29:08 AM

Washington - President Barack Obama´s top national security advisers met at the White House on Saturday to discuss the potential threat of terrorist attacks that caused Washington and its allies to issue travel warnings and close embassies throughout the Middle East. The United States issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday (Snip) Obama is spending the weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat after playing golf earlier on Saturday. His birthday is Sunday. The White House said Obama had received regular briefings about the potential threat and U.S. preparedness measures all week.

Comments:
This may someday be known as "White House burns, while 0bama golfs." Once again, the terror threat is real and he is off golfing and hiding at Camp David. As is 0bama´s way, he is "briefed" by others, so he can be counted "present." Government by plausible deniability. [After all, he really wasn´t at the meetings, should things go bad]. Sound like Benghazi, again?

P.S. Having been on call in medical field, have worked every day of the year, no exceptions, when needed.

if they had been paying attention to embassy security the last 5 years (which we see from Benghazi they weren´t) perhaps this wouldn´t have had to be a cause celebre. who knows if this group is on top of anything, most of all the "top advisors"????

Reuters, in their usual "nothing to see here" style, neglects to mention Obama´s birthday bachanal at Camp David is for boys only...no girls allowed. What better place for all the gay administration officials to play their nasty birthday games than Camp David with the best security in the world. I´ll bet the Secret Service people get sick to their stomachs with the party antics. But!...that´s our boy, Barack!

When first reading the headline, I thought gosh, maybe this threat IS bad since Barcky´s working! On a Saturday!

But no. His record remains unblemished.

After all, what is there for HIM to be worried about? Things are proceeding quite nicely, all according to Plan.

Wonder what the islamoterrorists will gift him with today....? What turmoil and chaos and bloodshed will they churn up for him on his b-day?

Amazing what Obie will do to distract us from Benghazi-gate, F&F Mexico-gate, AP-gate, IRS-gate, NSA-gate, Obiecare-gate, immigration-gate, budget-gate, and all of the other Obie-gates.

#5 is correct. Bush kept us safe. Obama destroyed any semblance of order in the middle-east. Benghazi is important because it shows that Obama is not just standing behind a teleprompter stating "It is time for Mubarak to go". He is the centerpiece of this middle-east disaster. People will starve, Al Queda will strengthen and terrorism will dominate because of our President.

ironically, the greatest security threat to the USA is the continuance of the Obama administration and the threat of 8 more years of this nonsense from a President Hillary. Al-Qaeda is now small potatoes in comparison..

I´m guessing that he is staging the security threat himself to (a) Make himself look good, (b) To further push some agenda, probably, gun control, even if the incident is committed abroad by bona fide terrorists, (c) To further deprive American citizens of more rights, because of some trumped up threat, and (d) As a setup to say "Whew, that was rough! I need another vacation!!"

President Shankopotimus hits the links for a round of golf and is an innocent bystander if anything happens when Al-Qaeda strikes.

He´s solidly on their side - - and will do whatever he can to alleviate threats to their security.

This weekend meeting puts Obama’s MO in the spotlight. Once again, as with Benghazi, when an emergency presents, Obama scuttles under the bed.

This unprecedented mass closing of embassies, an admission that they cannot be protected, and, in other words, the US is no longer strong enough (or feared enough) to protect its diplomats abroad.

Obama’s first term, first presidential salient onto the world stage and into the Middle East to open a new era of peace and trust has been totally rebuffed by a full out al Qaeda assault, an assault that has sent the US scampering out of the region in disgrace.

The first Marxist Muslim president, with his “There is no God but Allah” inscribed ring in place, has prostrated America before the new caliphate.

Why do I feel this high security charade is to portray a sense of responsibility to fellow Americans working at embassies in the middle east. Is this cynical...you betcha. Especially coming right after Hillary had lunch at the White House and of course announcing this all on Friday. Everything he does has a political motive to it and this also assists Hillary as well. Now when asked about Benghazi all she has to say is she can´t discuss high security matters at this time. MY guess is, the White House Mafia are anticipating something negative to break about Benghazi and this shows this move shows leadership and that he´s on top of things. It´s like if you´re caught shoplifting or stealing something and then say but I´ll put it back thinking that will make it better. This is as phony as Clinton´s aspirin factory caper.

C´mon, you can´t expect Barry to work with another stress-filled trip to Martha´s Vineyard coming up in a few days.

Isn´t it amazing what harm can be done just by putting a bunch of clueless amateurs in charge? They could have sent a much better message to al Qaeda, like leaving the embassies open and sending a few squads of armed Marines to each one (with ammunition this time) and inviting the muzzies to come ´n get it. But Valerie just isn´t that smart nor is she inclined to kill fellow pedophile worshipers. Little boy Barry would have been out golfing either way.

Aren´t there suppose to be townhall meetings taking place during that time?

They ran from this threat, so how are they going to return? The islamo-fascists own us. When will it ever be ´safe´ for us to return? They´ll be there waiting. Even crooks like LBJ and Tricky Dick would not pass up the opportunity to go on camera and make serious announcments. Walter Cronkite lived for the day he could be the only one making a truly serious announcement
like the death of JFK. What does our muslim

Washington - A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. In its ruling, the court rejected state and industry challenges to rules designed to clean up mercury, lead, arsenic and other dangerous air pollutants. The new regulations were designed to remove toxins from the air that contribute to respiratory illnesses, birth defects and developmental problems in children. Some industry groups have criticized the standards, saying the EPA was overstating the benefits. Industry groups argued it would cost billions of

Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba - A military judge abruptly recessed the first 9/11 trial hearing of the year Monday after defense lawyers accused the FBI in open court of trying to turn a defense team security officer into a secret informant. If true, the lawyers argued, attorney-client confidentiality might be compromised in the case that seeks to put on trial and execute five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. At issue, in part, was the publication in January of prison camp musings by the alleged 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed,

Abuja, Nigeria - Bomb blasts ripped through a bus station in the suburbs of the Nigerian capital today in the largest single attack on Abuja since insurgents began violent operations in 2009. Authorities say 71 people were killed and 124 were injured in a strike on Nyanya Motor Park, a chaotic bus station where commuters board megabuses into the pristine city center for work less than 10 miles away. The blasts in Nigeria´s capital are a direct challenge to the government´s recent assurances that it has managed to contain Boko Haram, Nigeria's militant Islamist group, to the remote northeast of the country. Outgoing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says the administration´s own predictions that the new health care law´s online sign-up system would be ready by Oct. 1 were "just flat out wrong." Sebelius told NBC´s "Meet the Press" in an interview airing Sunday the health care website´s launch was "terribly flawed and terribly difficult." She says that eight-week period was her low point of her tenure. Sebelius last week announced her resignation. She says she wanted to give President Barack Obama enough time to bring in a new health chief. Sebelius´ resignation comes just a week after sign-ups for

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

On Fox News Sunday, political analyst Brit Hume said that Eric Holder’s claim that his treatment at the hands of Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) at a House hearing this week was unprecedented toward an Attorney General, made him a “crybaby,” and that he and President Barack Obama had in fact benefited “enormously” from being the first African Americans in their respective positions. “This strikes me as kinda crybaby stuff from Holder,” Hume said. “My sense about this is both Eric Holder and Barack Obama have benefited politically enormously from the fact that they are African American and the first to

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a
