A few days prior to the 2012 presidential election, in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie gave Obama a long, drawn-out hug and silently nodded his head in agreement to every word spoken by the always-opportunistic president.(snip)lately the Garden State governor has been the pure embodiment of Alinsky rule #12, which says, "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." What´s making the whole thing so suspicious is Governor Christie´s verbal rancor is mostly being directed toward a specific political adversary of the president, the outspoken Tea Party favorite, Rand Paul
Chris Christie is using Rand Paul to distract from his record as Governor. He will win re-election but not on his record. The GOP will look at that record should he run in 2016. How does his record as A GOP Governor compare to that of other GOP Governors? He uses his loud mouth and large BMI to bully and intimidate. Has he done anything to lower taxes, to reduce the size of government? His bullying of critics is just a distraction tactic, just like his bromance partner Obama uses.
Like it or not,Christie is the 300 lb. gorilla in the room both figuratively and actually for 2016. While a lot of people are still mad at his Obama suck up,he has cross party appeal because people figure he´s open minded. It was a short term hit for Christie that may pay off in the long run.
There´s 5-6 other republicans that have a following but there´s a huge difference between a following and getting 60 some million votes.
Foreign aid to Egypt got approved despite howls of protests from Paul. What happened in Egypt wasn´t a coup but a police action to restore the country´s long term survival.
Insightful assertion that Christie is taking orders from O. Now that Colin Powell´s usefulness is at an end, Christie is brought into the game. Advice to Rand Paul: Never try to make nice with a bully. Paul Ryan tried it with O and you foolishly tried it with Big Boy. It just leads to a sucker punch.
No. ^, I am right with you. But the minute that C?2 sided up to BHO, and didn´t lift a finger to support Mitt Romney, that was the end. I don´t know how you can live west of the Delaware River and consider C?2 to be the future of the Republican Party.
crispy cris christie is an obnoxious, rude bore whose main claim to fame is that he is like the bully who was picked on his whole life and now has a little power and uses it whenever he feels threatened. Even worse, he LOVES springsteen AND obama! IMO, if Republicans are naive enough to consider him a "republican" and fit to run for President, there really is no hope for the GOP.
#3, yes, it is distinctly possible that the Republicans will select Chris Christie to lose to whoever the Democratic Party nominee is in 2016. Chris Christie will never win the Presidency as a Republican
If Republicans want to finally once and for all kill the Republican party they can have Christie as the party nominee. That will ensure Hillary has White House and both houses of congress. Rest assured the end can happen quickly. Once the convention selects whatever Dole/McCain/Romney clone..a la Christie...the band can begin playing: ´The Party´s Over..." I predict that Republicans will be chased out of power forever. Too bad. The Tea people tried to help but were rejected, reviled and repulsed. So be it.
In the beginning, Christie was considered a decent Conservative. Then the truth came out. He has a control freak on guns in the hands of American citizens. This fact alone turned him into an isolated leper for many patriots. Now the only positives working for him are lower taxes, and his rubbing the teacher´s union the wrong way. Just a doughboy who´s rise fell flat. No vote for you! Rand, perhaps but issues remain. Time will tell.
Watch Christie carefully. He is following Obie´s path to the WH. With his appearances on late night tv and a variety of other shows, he is trying to appeal to the young voter.
He invited Obie after Sandy because he was annoyed that he was not the VEEP nominee. He needed to clear the field for 2016 so he gave the Prezzie his photo op.
The damage he has done to NJ cannot be calculated. He is destroying the judiciary, when he gets around to appointing them. All of his cronies from the US Attorney´s Office are receiving undeserved appts.
There is NO difference between Christie and Obama. They are both bullies and act only in their own self interest. If he is the Republican nominee in 2016, there better be a third party.
If the Eastern Elite RINOs think they are going to run Christie and win, they are dumber than anyone could predict.
The only way the "R"s will ever see the inside of the Oval Office again is to run a Conservative and turn out the "base." But the only way Conservatives will ever have a say in who the nominee is, is if Eastern Elite RINOs allow the primary process to change. What do you think the chances of that are?
I´m not the only one who had cast their last, He´s Not As Bad As The Democrat" vote.
In the politically correct hothouse of an elite university campus, all sorts of bizarre theories and beliefs flourish. Did you know that grammar is racist? That´s the gist of a kerfuffle currently playing out at UCLA, the taxpayer-funded institution that is one of America´s most prominent research universities, and a global brand name (UCLA-licensed tee shirts and other merchandise are wildly popular overseas -- scores of of dedicated UCLA merchandise stores and departments exist in Japanese, South Korean and Chinese malls and department stores) and bring in substantial royalties to the university). How ironic that Japanese Korean and Chinese students who
The ability of people to enroll in online college course is a grave threat to the power of professors. First and most obviously, it is low cost, high quality competition. If students can listen to lectures by superstar professors from elite schools like Harvard or Stanford for free or nearly free, they might not be so anxious to fork over tuition for the local talent at a second or third tier institution. The faculty at San Jose State University understands this very well, and have revolted against their institution participating in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)(snip)Leave it to Zeke [Emanuel]
OK, I am a bad person because I am really enjoying the pain that Democrats are experiencing over Obamacare. Jonathan Allen and Jennifer Haberkorn report on Politico: Veteran House Democratic aides are sick over the insurance prices they´ll pay under Obamacare, and they´re scrambling to find a cure. "In a shock to the system, the older staff in my office (folks over 59) have now found out their personal health insurance costs (even with the government contribution) have gone up 3-4 times (snip)The best part of it is that people who consider themselves smarter than the rest of us suddenly find themselves
The Hill reports that Republican members of Congress are contemplating actions to combat President Obama´s lawbreaking methods of ruling from the Oval Office. "GOP officials have long claimed that the president has violated the law and the Constitution through administrative actions on issues ranging from immigration to nominations to the U.S. military involvement in Libya," (snip)Obama has now reached the tipping point, however, with his illegal "fix" of Obamacare designed to overcome his lie that Americans can keep their health insurance. The president´s open lawbreaking following his notorious lying puts Democrats´ electoral prospects at risk. It frustrates the unquestioning goodwill and
You may have thought that the most painful part of Obamacare was the rollout of healthcare.gov. Sadly, the worst is yet to come. Obamacare has a Three-Step Cancellation Program that ends with cancelling you. Step One: Cancel your insurance By "cancel your insurance," I mean precisely the opposite result of what President Obama initially promised: to reduce (eliminate?) the stain of having millions of uninsured Americans. In October 2013, millions of our countrymen and women began to receive notices that their health insurance carriers were canceling their existing insurance effective 2014 in order to comply with Obamacare. (snip) Step Two: Cancel
The irony is just too delicious. Remember when President Obama rounded up some of the few people who were able to sign up for Obamacare, and one of them fainted? He also cited a letter he got from a Washington State woman, Jessica Sanford. Libertyfirstnews summarizes: Obama related Sanford´s story in remarks from the Rose Garden last Oct. 21: "I recently received a letter from a woman named Jessica Sanford in Washington state, and here´s what she wrote. ´I am a single mom, no child support, self-employed, and I haven´t had health insurance for 15 years
While black celebrities such as Oprah continue to claim that Obama is opposed and disrespected because he is black, the truth is the polar opposite. Because Obama is black, he enjoys unprecedented imperialistic power and respect. Obama ignores the Constitution, changing and refusing to enforce laws at will. Despite impeachable offenses, white America does not have the stomach to impeach the first "African-American" president.(snip)How are millions of white Americans responding to being called racist by black celebs (Oprah, Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, and others) who have become multimillionaires as a result of white patronage? These black celebs are absurdly using
While families across the Midwest were reeling from tornadoes and storm damage, President Obama spent four hours playing golf Sunday (his 151st round of golf as president) and then took in a college basketball game at the University of Maryland. The Maryland Terrapins were taking on the Oregon State Beavers, coached by Michelle´s older brother Craig Robinson. What a great day for the president! His two favorite sports in one day. What, me worry? But it was not all sweetness and light. You see, the fans actually booed him. And people were Tweeting about it (snip) it´s going to be a
A disturbing trend among American conservatives is the increasing sense of optimism about President Obama´s slow fade in mainstream perceptions, and its ramifications for the future of American leftism. Does Obama´s decline entail the undoing of the movement he represents? Progressivism´s history reveals another option, which is that the movement will, in the name of saving itself, reject Obama. Progressives are rigid in their ideology, to be sure, but this rigidity does not extend to their support for leaders. (snip) Hillary Clinton -- ay, there´s the rub.
We know that President Obama is desperate because he has lost the trust of the American people. A majority, according to some polls, believe he deliberately lied about keeping your insurance and doctor. Once the majority doubt his word, all sorts of other ugly questions start getting raised about other claims he has made - about himself, about the country, about the GOP, really, about everything that has come out of his mouth. When in crisis, the habitual trump card of race gets played. And who better to play it than Oprah Winfrey, who is loved and trusted, especially by the
The main reason I left the insurance industry years ago was the fatigue of marketing a product that is misunderstood by the vast majority of its customer base, not to mention the majority of functionaries inside the industry. (snip)we all now live in a country where the industry is being seized by a president who remains totally oblivious to its realities. Yet he insists on occupying the position as grand poobah CEO of all of it, and ruling by edict. And his epic "fix" can be translated this way: If you like your coverage, you can rent it. Maybe. There are so
Ezekiel Emanuel, ObamaCare architect, Ph.D, bioethicist, Harvard M.D., a brilliant man who displays his intelligence by continuing to defend ObamaCare. He is the president´s top healthcare adviser. He is famous for promoting the idea that medical resources should be primarily directed in support of adolescents and young adults. The elderly and infants should take a back seat, especially if medical resources become scarce. Many have accused Ezekiel of advocating a ´bioethical´ stance that would allow the very old and the very young to die, untreated
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on a conference call organized by Karl Rove’s Crossroads organization for large donors and their advisers on Oct. 30 that the Tea Party movement, in his view, is a “nothing but a bunch of bullies” that he plans to “punch … in the nose.” On the call, according to a donor who was on it, McConnell personally named Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) as Tea Party conservatives he views as problematic for him. “The bulk of it was an attack on the Tea Party in general, Cruz in particular,” the source, a
Fraud can be so brazen it takes people’s breath away. But for a prosecutor tasked with proving a swindle — or what federal law describes as a “scheme to defraud” — the crucial thing is not so much the fraud. It is the scheme. To be sure, it is the fraud — the individual false statements, sneaky omissions, and deceptive practices — that grabs our attention. As I’ve recounted in this space, President Obama repeatedly and emphatically vowed, “If you like your health-insurance plan, you can keep your health-insurance plan, period.” The incontrovertible record — disclosures by the Obama administration in
Fear swept through Borough Park, Brooklyn, as soon as the news got out: A young man was randomly assaulted by strangers early Friday morning, and the attack was possibly part of the so-called Knockout Game. Four men were arrested, but on Friday night only one was charged and the others were released. The attack added to a growing log of reports of such crimes in the Northeast and beyond. Young assailants were randomly picking unlucky targets and trying to knock them out with just one punch. Yet police officials in several cities where such attacks have been reported said that the “game” amounted
A teen playing the "Knockout Game" in Lansing, Michigan unwittingly targeted a concealed carry permit holder and was shot twice. He survived and is now in jail. As Breitbart News previously reported, the "Knockout Game" thrives in areas where victims are unarmed. In the "game," teens approach a stranger on the sidewalk or in an alley and punch the stranger in an attempt to knock him or her out. A punch that results in a knockout scores one point. WILX in Lansing reported that teenager Marvell Weaver, who is black, tried to knock out a father who was standing at
WASHINGTON -- Democrats quickly enjoyed the first fruits of a milestone Senate vote making it harder for the Republican minority to block President Barack Obama´s nominations: They swiftly ended a GOP filibuster against one of his top judicial selections and prepared to do the same for two others. Over the longer term, they might regret what they did and how they did it, Republicans and others are warning. When Democrats muscled the changes through Thursday over the opposition of every GOP senator, it helped heighten Congress´ already high level of partisan animosity. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., used a process that
Today, President Obama and the Democrats are faced with the opportunity to take a timeout – a timeout from ObamaCare. I believe that they should delay ObamaCare for six months to a year. America’s health care system isn’t something that can be pieced together on an ad-hoc basis amidst failing websites, party infighting, bickering insurers and a confused American public. Since the website launched last month, it has become increasingly clear that the policy – and indeed the mechanics – weren’t ready yet. And while I, along with the rest of the American people, would’ve preferred that it had worked
Joining the hosts of MSNBC’s The Cycle on Friday, legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw previewed a special on the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination that will air on MSNBC that night. Recounting his experiences from that day, he said that the reaction to JFK’s assassination, “mostly in conservative states,” was encapsulated by his interaction with one man who expressed satisfaction over the president’s killing. “This was unusual but it was not unheard of,” Brokaw told the MSNBC hosts, prefacing a conservative’s reaction to JFK’s killing. “As I came running out of the announce booth, the chief engineer,
To the average American, ObamaCare is part web site disaster, part shattered campaign promise writ very, very large. Millions of Americans have already been forced out of their existing health care policies, a number that may skyrocket in the new year. Russell Simmons sees it differently. The hip-hop mogul says ObamaCare is already so successful it´s saved thousands, if not millions of lives. Yes, we initially wanted single payer, and we had to compromise back in 2009 for the Affordable Care Act. But, it is a damn good piece of legislation that has already saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives. So,
For the White House, November has been the cruelest month, with increasing worry among Democrats that a year from now could mean another midterm electoral disaster, similar to the results in 2010 when Republicans picked up over 60 House seats to gain control and netted six Senate seats as well. Each day produces a new poll with terrible numbers for the president and his policies. The Obama approval level has dipped below 40% in several surveys in recent days, and yesterday hit an all-time low of 37% in a CBS poll — a survey that in the past has often
If voters had been aware last year that they might lose their health-care plans when Obamacare went into effect, Republican President Mitt Romney would be sitting in the White House today, according to a poll released Friday. A Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research survey conducted from Nov. 18-20 asked voters who supported President Barack Obama in 2012: “As you may know, millions of Americans have lost their insurance plans despite President Obama’s promise that, quote, ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it.’ If you knew in 2012 that this promise was not true, would you still have voted
President Obama said Friday he does not worry much about his safety because of the “outstanding” Secret Service detail that shadows him everywhere he goes. Obama said the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy 50 years ago transformed the presidential security detail to a point where he hardly thinks about safety. "It´s not something I think about, mainly because we have a Secret Service that does an outstanding job every single day," Obama told ABC News in an interview set to air next week. For example, the open-air car Kennedy was riding in while shot in Dallas in 1963
Ahmad Rashad, a Pro Bowl wide receiver, has made yet another great catch. The Minnesota Vikings legend has rebounded from his broken marriage to Sale Johnson — the ex-wife of Jets owner Woody Johnson — and is said to be dating Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s most trusted senior adviser. Rashad, a sportscaster and a close friend of Michael Jordan’s, is keeping the romance on the down low. “They haven’t gone out in public,” one source told me. “They are sneaking around.” (Rashad’s manager did not respond to questions about the relationship, and the White House declined to comment on Jarrett’s personal life.) Rashad, who
