Bill Clinton dishes on vegan diet
Politico, by Caitlin McDevitt

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/1/2013 1:44:48 PM

After three years on a vegan diet, former President Bill Clinton says he doesn’t crave steak. But cutting back on bread has been tough. "Heavily processed carbs, you really have to control that," Clinton told AARP in a recent interview about his eating habits. The former president, now 66, went on a strict diet after a health scare in 2010, and he says he´s kept it up. "I just decided that I was the high-risk person [for heart problems], and I didn´t want to fool with this anymore. And I wanted to live to be a grandfather," Clinton said.

Comments:
Oh puhleeze. Does anyone really believe the old horn dog?? I don´t believe a word that passes through the lips of him, his wife, or any Democrat for that matter.

I don´t know about him being ´vegan´, but there a certain bull byproduct which still dominates his life.

Funny everyone focused on the vegan thing - that´s a personal choice and what your own body can handle. Didn´t work for me, a paleo-type eating habit works for me.

What I found most interesting was his statement that he wanted to live long enough to enjoy grandfatherhood - I thought to myself "Im not sure that´s going to happen, big boy" - Chelsea seems to be floundering trying to find her niche in the world, and being a mom doesn´t seem a priority.

House Immigration Bills

WASHINGTON—Speaker John Boehner and other senior House Republicans are telling donors and industry groups that they aim to pass immigration legislation this year, despite the reluctance of many Republicans to tackle the divisive issue before the November elections. Many lawmakers and activists have assumed the issue was off the table in an election year. But Mr. Boehner said at a Las Vegas fundraiser last month he was "hellbent on getting this done this year," according to two people in the room. A spokesman for Mr. Boehner didn´t dispute the account but said no action is possible until President Barack Obama

One of the few laws of political science is that when governments make mistakes, they tend to be whoppers. Luckily for them, the public’s memory is short, and the outrage of today soon declines into the apathy of tomorrow. From several articles published in a recent edition of the British Medical Journal, it appears that many governments around the world, including those of Britain and the US, may have made such a mistake in stockpiling billions of dollars’ worth of anti-flu medications, bought principally from Roche, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world as measured by capitalization. First the governments overestimated the

Conservative leader and Catholic L. Brent Bozell III today blasted Rep. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. It’s pitiful that we’ve reached this point, but Obama’s account of this chat really is more credible than Cantor’s. O’s position on immigration is straightforward: He wants amnesty badly, partly for legacy reasons and partly because he’s understandably keen to legalize a few million future Democratic voters, and he’s hoping the GOP will go along so that he doesn’t have to do something risky like an executive moratorium on deportations. The GOP leadership’s position is anything but straightforward. They’re convinced that they need to pass some sort of immigration bill before 2016 or else Latinos will hand the White House
