What will become of Trayvon’s
hoodie, the latest piece
of iconic trial evidence?

Washington Post, by Manuel Roig-Franzia

Original Article

Sift everything. Sift the weeks of testimony, the theatrics, the recriminations, the tears. Sift the months of noisy commentary — the relentless, pounding, grating noise. One image remains, clinging there to our consciousness. Sturdy, permanent, enduring, a distillation — a takeaway. In the moment that the hoodie — Trayvon Martin’s hoodie — appeared in Courtroom 5D in Seminole County, Fla., it was as if the air sluiced out the door. There was a breathless, aching stillness. Prosecutors displayed the dark gray sweatshirt that Martin wore on the last night of his life in an enormous, rectangular, thickly three-dimensional frame.

Comments:
The Sacred Shroud of Trayvon.....cut me a friggin´ break.
Send it to the local carwash with the other rags.

A hoodie for a hood. The media made this "trial" newsworthy because they thought they could use the white against black angle.Ordinarily it would never have gone to trial at all except for the name Zimmerman. Pay no attention to the fact that Zimmerman is an Hispanic.....

His parents will sell it for millions to one of the Hip-Hop celebrities so he can wear it to make a stupid statement. Trayvon´s parents are really making a mint off of his death. How sad.

Trayvon´s mother will want to sell it to the highest bidder, of course, then she can deposit the money she gets from selling her son´s precious hoodie into the bank account that holds the Million Dollar settlement she got from the homeowner´s association. Now, remember this is the mother that abandoned Trayvon before he was three.

This is really an absurd article. He starts off saying that, in the courtroom, the hoodie was not an exhibit, but.....(yada, yada, yada). No, silly Manuel. It was an important piece of evidence. It told the expert witness, world-famous forensic pathologist Dr. Vincent DiMaio, how far the muzzle of George Zimmerman´s weapon was from Trayvon Martin´s chest. That it was not shoved into his flesh, but fired against the hoodie which was 2-4 inches from TM´s skin.

When Manuel grows up - if Manuel grows up - he may understand "evidence".

And Manuel, that hoodie is no holy relic, so put down your hands and get up off your knees.

The prosecution aided the defense (as it often did) by showing the hoodie spread out in the huge display case. It underscored, or even exaggerated, the fact that Martin was bigger than Zimmerman. Who wouldn´t feel threatened to see that thing coming at you out of the darkness?

Since 1998, the average rate of Earth’s rising global surface temperature has relaxed, much to the chagrin of climate scientists whose climate-model predictions told a different story. Now, researchers say they’ve found the cause of Earth’s global warming “hiatus.” According to a new study, published in the journal Nature Geoscience, volcanoes are the reason the average rate of warming dropped from .31 degrees Fahrenheit per decade between 1970 and 1998 to .072 degrees Fahrenheit per decade between 1998 and 2012. This “muted surface warming” was the result of a series of 17 small volcanic eruptions, beginning in 2000, that spewed

The crisis in Ukraine has brought out a fresh round of critics of President Obama´s foreign policy who see a pattern emerging: the president tries to assert his authority and direct events on the world stage with empty threats, which inevitably have no follow through. With each instance, U.S. power grows weaker as foreign powers view Mr. Obama as the president who cried wolf.
