US economic growth at
1.7% in second quarter

BBC News [UK], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 7/31/2013 10:45:08 AM

The US economy grew at an annualised pace of 1.7% in the second quarter of the year, the Commerce Department has said. That was a faster pace than expected by economists. It was also up from the growth rate for the first three months of 2013, which was revised lower to 1.1% from 1.8%. A slowdown was widely expected due to the impact of federal spending cuts, but also from the continuing weakness in the global economy. In March, $85bn (£56bn) of public spending was cut as a result of a deal between Democrat and Republican politicians.

I´ll wait for the adjusted numbers to come out.

And 1.7% was better than expected by the ´experts´. Flashback: in 1992, when Early Neo Leftists were chanting "It´s the economy, stupid!", GDP growth was 4.3% in the 2nd quarter.
Now 1.7% is "better than expected" and we´re supposed to be in awe of the Fraud at 1600 Pennsylvania?

And this barely above zero ´growth´ is with the Fed pumping billions into the economy. Take away all the false pump priming and we´re still in a recession.

Phony GDP number allows CNBC to lead press corpse choir in singing " Happy Days are Here Again" as Obama lands in Martha´s Vineyard with Reggie Love. The 1.7% preliminary number will be revised to 1.2% just prior to Labor Day and then 0.9% at the end of September.

At a time when alarm bells should be sounding about 1st Q´s 1.1% we are instead supposed to be overjoyed with the fake 1.7% number released today. Since the Federal Reserve is out of tools and Obama is intent on imposing more taxes, regulations and job killing Obamacare on us, we are in serious trouble.

Does anyone really believe the numbers this administration puts out? Last quarter we had to listen to all the clapping about the 1.8% GDP numbers, WOW. But wait, that number was revised down to 1.1%. So now they proudly announce that the GDP is up to 1.7%, and that is good because it is up from the revised number of 1.1%. Hmmmmm, there seems to be a pattern here. Good grief, let us get real, our economy is not improving, and under 0bama, it will never improve, we just keep adding more people to receive Food Stamps and Welfare, or we give them permanent disability.

What a joke. A giant surge from the Feds original prediction of 3.0% growth. The last three quarters growth-
Q4 (2012).1%
Q1 (2013) 1.1%
Q2 (2013) 1.7%

Over the last three quarters growth is averaging less than 1.0%. It´s all from funny money. We´re in a recession.

While America’s wealthiest citizens continue to outpace their global peers, the country’s middle class has lost its long held distinction of being the most affluent in the world according to new research. Although economic growth in the United States continues to be as strong as in many other countries--or stronger--only a small percentage of American households are fully benefiting from it, according to the LIS analysis. Based on surveys conducted over the past 35 years, income across the lower--and middle-income tiers of American society has plateaued over that time, while citizens in other advanced countries have received considerably larger rises.

At least 1,000 hospital patients are dying needlessly each month from dehydration and poor care by doctors and nurses, according to an NHS study. The deaths from acute kidney injury could be prevented by simple steps such as nurses ensuring patients have enough to drink and doctors reviewing their medication, the researchers say. Between 15,000 and 40,000 patients die annually because hospital staff fail to diagnose the treatable kidney problem, a figure that dwarfs the death toll from superbugs like MRSA. The report comes less than a year after the NHS watchdog NICE was forced to issue guidelines on giving patients water

The term "Dark Net" is shorthand to describe the hidden and encrypted part of the internet beyond the reach of normal browsers, accessible only using the anonymous browser Tor. It´s protected by a clever traffic encryption system which makes it very difficult to locate the servers which host sites--called Tor Hidden Services--and the IP addresses of the people the visit them. Tor used to stand for The Onion Router, and so some call this world "Onionland". Anonymity and freedom rule Onionland, not censorship. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey.
