I never thought the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case deserved nearly the attention it got. But reasonable people can disagree about that. What strikes me as unconscionable, however, is the way the supposedly objective media have not only sensationalized a tragedy but at times appear to deliberately bend the facts to fit a desired story line. Maybe it started with the use of pictures of a younger Martin or with the sudden embrace of the term "white Hispanic" to describe Zimmerman in order to more easily paint him as a racist. NBC News was the most egregious offender

If the Trayvonites argue it is a "stand your ground" case, they are conceding that Trayvon was the aggressor, and Zimmerman should have been under a duty to attempt to retreat(if no stand your ground law existed).
Move on? But the Black Grievance Industry still sees dollah sjgns! There is still money to be made, t-shirts to sell, and whites and blacks to denigrate! They cannot move on until they embarrass and humiliate themselves on the international stage.
You know, they think they are fooling people, which, granted, they are. The LoFo´s. But, they must realize, by the responses that anyone above half-wit intellect sees through their scam. Not only on a national level, but an international level. People across the country are laughing at them, as are people across the globe. Just read the responses to their articles.
Then, go look at their ratings. The only people watching are 1. The LoFo´s and 2. The people the LoFo´s elected and their groupies, cheering on the lapdog media, and checking on them to see if theyare still keeping up their end of the bargain.
Yep, National Barrack Channel keeps on plugging away, while the LoFo´s slowly start to wake up.
This is a threat to National Security, doncha know? Edumacatin´ dem lofo´s, why we jus caint hab dat. Dey might change dey vote.
Keep plugging away Lucianne.comers, keep telling the truth. I feel like giving up sometimes, but something just won´t let me.
I have seen all sorts of legitimate information via the autopsy and Martin´s record at school et al. that, if they ARE true, paint a really iffy picture of the young man, as well as of his parents. E.G. the skittles and soda (NOT ice tea as reported) when added to Robotussin , make for a get high drink that also causes aggression, and Martin´s liver showed signs of use. Martin Sr. has FOUR kids, three out of wedlock, and Martin was not raised by his mother but by the 2nd girlfriend. Etc. None of this, including why Trayvon was kicked out of school, are never mentioned.
By now most people know the truth about Trayvon being a thug; his mother knows it too, but she will milk this tragedy for every dollar she can get. Neither of Trayvon´s parents were there when he was growing up; he became a ruthless teenager in trouble with the law. That night he wanted to show this "Creepy-ass Cracker" who was tough, and unfortunately it cost him his life. Yet, the media wants to paint a different picture, and Trayvon´s parents are giddy with their Million Dollar settlement from the homeowners, and they want to promote this fraud as long as they can until every last buck is squeezed out for them. Neither of them had any money until Trayvon died, now they are both wealthy beyond their dreams.
#1 In the 1930´s The New York Times covered up the Soviet purges of up to 30 million people and praised their communist revolution. They got a Pulitzer for it. They still have it on display even though everyone knows today that the reporting was a lie. Actually, most informed people knew the reporting was a lie back then.
I very much disagree with Jonah on this one; I think the Trayvon deal is a very big thing. It is based on a false narrative and is designed to stir racial division. Our President and Attorney General are key players in both the false narrative and racial divisiveness. That´s intentional and very disturbing. They don´t mind breaking a few eggs, whether the egg is George Zimmerman or the Benghazi scapegoat filmmaker. Our leaders are vile.
The immediate cause of "the Trayvon Martin tragedy" was his own bad judgment in not going into the condo where he was supposed to be staying (which he had reached, according to his cell phone conversation with Rachel Jeantel) rather than deciding to go back - all the way to the far other end of the green belt - and show George Zimmerman a lesson. What Rachel called "whoop-a**".
His physical attack on Zimmerman caused Zimmerman to act in self defense with the only weapon he had.
Jonah gives us two unforgettable phrases: (1) the media will "bend facts to fit desired story line" (2) "letting misinterpretation stand, is the hallmark of media´s coverage of this story". Our corrupt, agitating, media works overtime to distort and censor the observable truth. It´s easy and not unreasonable to imagine that mainstream media are all communists. It’s actually more enjoyable to pretend they are commies. Why? Because they purposely agitate, when they should be reporting. They copy Sharpton, Jesse and Farakhan. That´s their format, agitation. Anybody they choose not to like is presumed guilty. Not exactly All American presumption of innocense, the media. Along with Jonah here, Jack Cashill has done prize winning, clear reporting on this case. And PJMedia´s Bill Whittle did an amazing ten minutes wrapping up all the truth versus distortion on this case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebu6Yvzs4Ls
The media totally ignored the dysfunctional TM family. He was not raised by his mother. His primary caregiver mother was his father´s girlfriend, who left his life suddenly when the father and her broke up. She raised him from being a toddler to a young teen. TM biological mother never mothered him. This whole story was the media´s fabrication. Now the parents are cashing in on their son´s death. A death that could have been avoided if he was raised in a stable home.
As quickly as travon´s parents(?) became enriched off his tragedy is just how quickly they will waste the money and embrace their poverty again. Except when their usefulness wains and poverty returns, they will still have the horrible habits of being wealthy and all its associated problems. Yet, I find it hard to feel sorry for them because it was never really about the death of a son they didn´t really give a damn about until his passing.
How many parents have children today that only matter when a potential lawsuit presents its self?
The Facts! The media distort them. The media omit them. The media invent them. If only the media would report them. If only…
Well, maybe it’s high time the corrupt (Facts? We don’t need no stinkin’ facts.) media get what’s coming to them. I’d like to see George Zimmerman lawyer-up with the toughest, meanest, take-no-prisoners law firm on the planet and go after all who lied, until all they have left is pocket change. NBC, ABC and whichever additional media are relevant in this matter. Obama and Holder as well, for insinuating themselves where it was inappropriate to do so; a long-shot, of course, but what’s the downside? Make this a high-profile, boisterous, once-and-for-all cause célèbre targeted at America’s fast-and-loose-with-the-facts media; long overdue to be exposed. Tiny retractions buried on Page 18 are no longer enough. Get ‘em in their wallets! That’s so they’ll be absolutely sure to notice, just in case they might ever want to try it again.
Jonah´s still whitewashing. Zimmerman was not standing his ground - he was retreating. All available evidence (Jeantel´s testimony, the police tape of the call, the physical evidence, Zimmerman´s statements to the police, and the eyewitness) indicates without contradiction that he was attacked without chance to retreat At that time, he wasn´t confronting anyone, he was on his way back to his car - retreating.
There were at least two laws broken - assault and battery (state crime) and a federal hate crime (crazy a** racial epithets with life-threatening beatings guarantee a conviction of certain races)by Trayvon. I´m not sure if the death threats are a separate crime and I haven´t heard enough evidence yet to prove Martin was also publicly intoxicated.
Besides that, everybody leaves out the extreme martial arts interest and participation.
It truly is sad that the "facts" about Trayvon Martin and his "family" were purposely withheld not only from the jury by the judge but also the public by the media. The drugs identified in his system during the autopsy should have been "evidence". Just like George Zimmerman´s swollen head, bruises, and broken nose should have been "evidence" but seems to be ignored. The millionaire Martins will keep trying to profit from their irresponsible parenting. Too bad George Zimmerman couldn´t turn around and sue them. He does need to got after NBC & ABC bigtime.
All of this proves only George Z is not the aggressive money grabbing after the fact victim who demands cash to ease the pain of losing the former unwanted neglected tween( in transit to full grown menace.)
All it would take is for ONE journalist to ask Sybrina exactly what does Stand Your Ground law have to do with Trayvon´s death, then listen for an answer. A useful tool of the left is all she is. Florida will never repeal the SYG law. So I suggest she move to Chicago.
Fox News Channel host Geraldo Rivera and the hosts of Fox & Friends openly mocked MSNBC and host Chris Matthews on Friday for his performance during an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama. Rivera called Matthews a “fan” of the president and the hosts dismissed the network as a place that does not specialize in “objective” analysis. Rivera reacted to Matthews’ interview of the president by saying that he has worked with the MSNBC host in the past and likes him personally. “But to pretend that Chris is a journalist, per se, I think that’s sort of artificial,” Rivera observed. “He’s a
For almost a decade now, Chris Matthews has served as a barometer for baby-boom progressives´ attitude toward Barack Obama -- from the "thrill" that went up his leg when he heard the presidential candidate speak in 2008 to the utter disappointment following last October´s debate in Denver. That´s why Matthews´ interview with Obama, which takes place at 2 p.m. today and airs at 7 p.m. on MSNBC, is a crucial one for the president, and for MSNBC. For Obama: The last time the MSNBC vet interviewed Obama, at West Chester University in 2008, it was a love-in, the "thrill" having traveled up
After the 2012 presidential election failed to go their way, Republicans were reminded ad nauseam that Barack Obama had built a winning collection of supporters and that the GOP had not. The Democratic coalition, insisted partisans both inside and outside the media, spelled potential death for the GOP and for the conservative ideology that generally underpins it. The Republican party was just too old, too white, and too male — three terrible things to be, naturally — and it was destined to be buried by demographics. As the year came to a close, and everyone tried his hand at a
It seems the Super Bowl has fallen victim to political correctness. They’ve decided to ban a pro-Second Amendment – and pro-veteran – Super Bowl ad by Daniel Defense, a company that sells guns, detailing a father who declares that he will protect his family. “No one has the right to tell me how to defend them," he says. The banning promoted this epic response from Colion Noir, a football fan, attorney - and NRA News commentator - who destroys the NFL for their hypocrisy. He adds, “This type of selective censorship is really bordering on the line of social lunacy where
Enrollment surge or no enrollment surge, the next Obamacare challenge is a big one: How will the White House make sure all those people with canceled policies get new coverage by Jan. 1? At the rate the signups are going — even with the speedier, newly functioning Obamacare website — the administration has a vast distance to travel before the estimated 4 to 5 million people with canceled policies get new health coverage.
Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has named William J. Bratton his Police Commissioner. In returning to the job he held under Rudolph Giuliani in the nineteen-nineties, Bratton will be in charge of fulfilling one of de Blasio’s most prominent campaign promises: to end the stop-and-frisk tactics that were such a prominent part of Michael Bloomberg’s record as Mayor. But Bratton’s views on stop-and-frisk may be considerably different from those of his new boss. In May of this year, I profiled Shira Scheindlin, the federal judge who presided over the class-action lawsuit that challenged the N.Y.P.D.’s stop-and-frisk policies. In the course of reporting
In my mid-20s, I had a new bride, a plum job on Capitol Hill and, apparently, the beginnings of a cancerous tumor on my right kidney. For 20 or 25 years — the best estimate of my doctors — it accompanied me at birthdays and on holidays and at the delivery of my children. It was quiet and kept to itself. Undiscovered, it would have donned camouflage and killed me in the end. A cancer diagnosis is the experience of about 13?million Americans. Mine came early enough for surgery to make a difference. There were weeks of testing, waiting and
Rush Limbaugh´s radio tirades will have a new home on Los Angeles airwaves next year. KFI-AM (640) is losing the conservative host´s three-hour show, long a fixture on the station, to KTLK-AM (1150), which owner Clear Channel is hoping to pump up as an outlet exclusively dedicated to right-leaning chatter. The company, which also owns KFI, will use Limbaugh´s audience to anchor the new lineup for KTLK, which is being dubbed "The Patriot" and will also feature national shows by Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.
The current daytime star—and future face of Yahoo News—is taking flak for running an alarmist segment about an HPV vaccine on her talk show. Why Katie’s under fire. Can you trust Katie Couric? For a woman who has hosted news programs on three major television networks, received multiple awards for her reporting, and earned the title “America’s Sweetheart” back in her Today show glory, merely raising the question could be hugely damaging to her career—even more so now as she prepares to take on a high-profile role as the new global anchor of Yahoo News.
The White House on Thursday admitted fabricating an earlier claim that President Obama had never met his Kenyan uncle, Onyango “Omar” Obama. Approximately 3 years ago, as Uncle Omar was fighting deportation following a DUI charge, the White House asserted to The Boston Globe without any apparent qualification that Onyango Obama “has never met his famous nephew.” That statement was untrue. Uncle Omar testified at an immigration hearing earlier this week that the younger Obama had briefly lived with him for several weeks in the 1970s.
The White House acknowledged Thursday that President Obama lived with his uncle for a brief period in the 1980s while he was a student at Harvard Law School -- after previously saying there was no record of the two having met. "The president did stay with him for a brief period of time until his apartment was ready," White House spokesman Eric Schultz said in a statement. "After that, they saw each other once every few months, but after law school they fell out of touch. The president has not seen him in 20 years, has not spoken with him
According to the New York Daily News’ Confidential blog, Barbara Walters wanted to name NSA leaker Edward Snowden as her most fascinating person of the year, but was overruled by ABC network executives. Walters is reportedly especially intrigued by Snowden, and believes he will be chosen as TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year (he trailed Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Egyptian defense minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and twerking minister Miley Cyrus in the readers’ poll). Snowden, who declined to sit for an interview with Walters, remains on the list, but is no longer at the top spot.
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
America is facing a wave of strikes by its fast-food workers on Thursday a day after Barack Obama warned that inequality in the USA had soared to the point that it now posed "a fundamental threat to the American dream". Low-paid workers in McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast-food outlets in 100 cities across America were due to start rolling strikes to protest at the low level of America´s $7.25 (£4.45) federal minimum wage. The strikes are the latest part of a mushrooming publicity campaign for higher wages among those working so-called "McJobs", with fast-food restaurants seen as a
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
A new report from the Texas-based Quorum Report, published by longtime Texas journalist Harvey Kronberg, says that House Speaker John Boehner plans to push amnesty legislation through the House, after the primary filing deadline for candidates. The move would prevent Tea Party from challenging GOP lawmakers who support amnesty in 2014. Scott Braddock reported on Tuesday that “in recent weeks, various Texas business interests have told Quorum Report that Boehner has been telling them that he will start holding immigration votes not long after the filing deadline has passed.”
