Pope Francis says he
won´t judge gay priests

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Hermoine, 7/29/2013 9:35:08 AM

ABOARD THE PAPAL AIRCRAFT – Pope Francis reached out to gays on Monday, saying he wouldn´t judge priests for their sexual orientation in a remarkably open and wide-ranging news conference as he returned from his first foreign trip. "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" Francis asked. His predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, signed a document in 2005 that said men with deep-rooted homosexual tendencies should not be priests. Francis was much more conciliatory, saying gay clergymen should be forgiven and their sins forgotten.

I think it shows weakness, and caving to the P.C. police. I yearn for an iron hand leadership from the Vatican. The enemy is growing stronger and stronger while Christians pray and love their enemy, just not their deeds. The gays have their own lobby. Same goes for muslims. The muslims will slaughter us if we don´t get the troops readied for the fight. Yeah, General Patton would be my kind of Pope.

He received quite a bit of grief from the lefties as I recall. I´ll wait to hear the entire commet without the edits from the press before I, uh, pass jugement.

This makes sense in light of the fact that Catholic priests are required to remain celibate. Therefore sexuality should be a non-issue. The problem is that many, particularly the gay ones, are not, and their sexuality manifests itself in pedophelia. The issue should be priests breaking their vows of celibacy.

Isn´t the criminal Catholic church the reason Protestantism came into existence? Lying, cheating, stealing are part and parcel of the Catholic church. Criminal popes live well while the masses live poorly. There is no vice unknown to those who enter the priesthood. Gay is just another vice. Ask the children who have been molested by "priests."

The sex abuse engine is operated by a group of lawyers calling itself SNAP (survivors of ..something). Even though the incidence of sexual abuse by priests is lower than such behavior by public school employees. The SNAP group has been able to keep its nearly false message awake for years. However, the air is escaping from the balloon of hot air. Even now at the SNAP Conference 2013, the Headline Speaker has nothing to do with the Church or sexual abuse. She is simply the Pro-Abortion activist Eleanor Smeal, whose contempt. for the Catholic Church cannot be overstated.
The priest sex abuse scandal is about the leftist (and often homosexual) agenda. It is is not really about sex abuse. It is about making money for lawyers.

What Pope Francis actually said was "Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?" "You can´t marginalize these people."

The problem comes from those with an agenda who report this in such a way that it appears that he is saying homosexual ACTIVITY cannot be judged. That is not what he says.

If a gay person, including a priest, is celibate and dedicates themselves to God then all is well. None of us can judge a person´s immortal soul. However, the picking and choosing of quotes like this give the "low information" individual the wrong information. THAT is dangerous and it is up to our Catholic media and, teachers and our parish priests to clarify Pope Francis statement.

Sadly far fewer will ever hear the clarification than will have read the AP story or the similar in the Huffington Post.

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations.
