The End of Shame
Canadian Free Press, by Daniel Greenfield

Original Article

Posted By:FlyRight, 7/28/2013 8:37:43 AM

Weiner’s political career will never end, if only because of how much value he has to offer to the media, standup comedians and bored browsers looking for some news item to wake them up long enough to finish another hour of data entry at their job. Shame has become a mostly discredited concept. The return of Weiner and Spitzer to public life proves as much. But the Era of Shame ended conclusively with Clinton’s impeachment proceedings. The only outcome of those proceedings was to degrade the country while leaving the man at the center of the mess intact.

A very interesting way to say the Dems are in charge.

I had no idea that the slate of candidates was such a shallow pool. New York - a city of millions - can´t do any better than this? What a pity. Then again, look at national politics. With few exceptions, politics is a hot mess...

I continue to go back to one pivotal point in our history. The year was 1970. The event was this...

The President´s Commission on Obscenity and Pornography concluded that "there was insufficient evidence that exposure to explicit sexual materials played a significant role in the causation of delinquent or criminal behavior."

This one event, along with an earlier SCOTUS ruling, opened the floodgates to the debauchery we witness today. From the lewdness in rap music to obscene language to violent video games to the online pornography that our youth are now immersed in. Even the acceptance of drug use can be traced back to this period.

Will we ever revisit this event? I doubt it. As they say, the horse has left the barn. Weiners are liable to be the new norm.

I have said on Lucianne many times, to the disinterest of all, that the first thing the Sixties people did away with was shame.
It is good to see that this has finally been noticed. Once shame is gone, there is no conscience. At that point, one is free to do whatever one wishes.

There oughta be a system to make these pariahs temporary members of the Republican party. With their Donk Immunity Shield thus removed, the Mediot Party would have them totally Zimmermanned within 30 days.

Several restaurants in a Florida chain are asking customers to help foot the bill for Obamacare. Diners at eight Gator´s Dockside casual eateries are finding a 1% Affordable Care Act surcharge on their tabs, which comes to 15 cents on a typical $15 lunch tab. Signs on the door and at tables alert diners to the fee, which is also listed separately on the bill. The Gator Group´s full-time hourly employees won´t actually receive health insurance until December. But the company said it implemented the surcharge now because of the compliance costs it´s facing ahead of the Affordable Care Act´s employer mandate
