How the Media Has Distorted a Tragedy
Real Clear Politics, by Cathy Young

Original Article

Posted By:DaddyO, 7/21/2013 10:18:01 AM

A week after George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the fatal shooting of black teenager Trayvon Martin, the backlash continues, with nationwide protests and calls to boycott Florida. President Obama spoke some undeniable truths when he noted that the African-American community’s reaction must be seen in the context of a long, terrible history of racism. But there is another context too: that of an ideology-based, media-driven false narrative that has distorted a tragedy into a racist outrage. This narrative has transformed Zimmerman, a man of racially mixed heritage that included white, Hispanic and black roots

Martin was on the thug path. Selling dope, breaking into homes and buying and selling illegal weapons - How else did you think his life would end?

The surprise is that he died at 17 instead of 21 after more years of preying on the innocent and terrorizing the neighborhood. But he attacked the wrong fat little Cuban guy.

See story just before this about lack of media coverage of IRS scandals. Article makes clear that the purpose of 24/7 "Trayvon would have been a nuclear scientist if a white Hispanic had not thrown his nose into the young boy´s clenched fist" was:

A. Help Obama carry Florida in 2012.
B. Ensure black turnout nationwide for Obama despite horrible black unemployment under Obama.
C. Keep Fast & Furious, Benghazi, IRS, NSA, expansion of al-Qaeda, death Detroit, 14.6% U-6 unemployment out of the news.

On Monday, Obama and Holder are certain to have a joint press conference announcing something about Trayvon. Gotta keep the smokescreen going.

Antonio West. Ring a bell?

This child was shot in the face, sitting in a stroller, in front of his mother, who also
was shot in the leg by two who "look just like me", and not a word, a following, claim of racial hatred from the MSM.

An innocent little child who could not protect himself. A mother who saw her child killed, and not a call or word from anyone in the White House on this situation.

I wonder how Hispanics feel knowing that now they, too, are responsible for racism, the original sin of slavery and Jim Crow and that they have no right to defend themselves if attacked by a black person. As a matter of fact, the demographics of this country are changing so rapidly that the Al Sharpton´s and Jesse Jackson´s need to go into high gear and collect their money while they can because soon there will be very few purely white people to blame.

The vast majority of blacks alive today have never encountered real racism but an awful lot of them practice it. They teach racism to their babies and reinforce it in their churches all the while killing, robbing and raping each other and anyone else they come across. And somehow it´s all whiteys fault.

I think we are witnessing the total breakdown or meltdown of the corrupt mainstream media. They have concocted a totally false national racist narrative out of a local crime story and they insist on continuing their crappy, phony story in spite of all the facts of the case. The story has taken an evil bent by encouraging black hatred against whites that had nothing to do with anything and even encouraging boycotts of a whole state, Florida, over laws that have nothing to do with this case. A total abuse of their standing encouraging mob rule. A pox on the mainstream media.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster in England. Ninety-six Liverpool fans died and more than 700 were injured in a human crush in the opening minutes of the 1989 FA Cup Semifinal at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield. Inadequate turnstiles created a bottleneck and a crush of thousands of fans outside the ground on the Liverpool side. Police opened a gate, allowing the fans to enter. Standing room fans were kept in enclosed pens at some stadiums for security purposes. Police did not close the entrance to the already full central pens. Thousands streamed down the central tunnel,

Sunday’s announcement that Piers Morgan had lost his show at CNN was hardly unexpected. The ratings for the coveted 9 p.m. time slot were abysmal, dropping last week to just 270,000 viewers — about one-eighth of what Fox News’s Megyn Kelly got in the same time slot. Some, such as Variety magazine, have speculated that the low ratings are due to Morgan’s single-minded push for gun control. That might have something to do with it, but much more is going on. In all the thousands of television and radio interviews that I have done over the years, my appearances on Morgan’s

Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either.
