Lois Lerner’s price for
testimony: Immunity

Politico, by Rachael Bade and John Bresnahan

Original Article

Posted By:Calvinesq, 7/3/2013 8:58:28 AM

Embattled IRS official Lois Lerner will not testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee unless she’s given immunity from prosecution, her lawyer told POLITICO Tuesday. “They can obtain her testimony tomorrow by doing it the easy way … immunity,” William W. Taylor III said in a phone interview. “That’s the way to resolve all of this.” The comments reflect the hard-line approach Lerner, the former head of the IRS division that scrutinized conservative groups, and her legal team are taking in defending her role in the agency’s scandal.

Comments:
While I would rather nail her to the wall and throw her in jail, I´m OK with this. Let her have immunity. We can see who was controlling this. Don´t forget, immunity will not protect her if she commits perjury going forward.

Ok but can they still fire her afterwards? I don´t want her anywhere near the IRS. She is guilty as sin.

There are various levels of punishment available ~

Try them!

She´ll talk.

It´s her husband probably telling her to go for a deal. Time to educate him too.

If she gets immunity she´ll lie and claim responsibility for every evil act, providing cover for Obama and the director. And no one will be able to contradict her. Or dare.

I hope they refuse her demand for immunity, subpoena her, and then figuratively nail her to the wall, whether she complies and testifies or not.

How dare this animal take our money for years and years, commit atrocious acts and then spit in our face when we want to know what she did for that money.

Issa went up the chain too fast. The testimony from George was that he interviewed the Cincy office grunts with Lerner present. Issa needs to subpoena one of them and give them immunity to rat out Lerner. Once she´s being prosecuted, she´ll be a bit more willing to rat out the one´s higher up.

Here is e scenario we must avoid. Grant Lerner immunity. Lerner immediately confesses to being the mastermind andinal arbiter of all things anti conservative in the IRS. end of investigation, end of house review end of IRS scandal as the MSM shouts "squirrel" at the top of their collective lungs and blazes "Royals expect early birth" in four inch high banner headlines for the next 6 weeks.

Lerner "resign" and is immediately is promoted to a senior administrative position in the Obamacare enforcement racket.

I guess if I ever get into hot water, I need to find the phone number of Lerner´s mouthpiece. He might have given her some bad information (read the statement then take the 5th, because it does open up her to some interpretation of the law).

´Cause I would expect he´d shoot for the moon and a couple stars from the get go.

I like the idea of getting a couple underlings to fess up first, but under no instance should Lerner get immunity without telling what she knows AND getting FULL and COMPLETE verification.

I´d also include in the immunity deal a resignation from current IRS position and an agreement not to accept federal employment or a position which involves lobbying, or contracting with the federal government.

But that´s only if she has something to offer that is needed. Otherwise, haul her and her shyster lawyer´s butt back up to the Hill and have to say "I take the fifth" to every question put before her.

And pass a law that requires any federal employee who lies before Congress or takes the fifth before Congress must be fired immediately and is ineligible for re-employment.

It sickens me that we live in a world where people like Lois Lerner can do ugly and illegal deeds, then under oath lie and say she did nothing wrong, and by the way, I do not intend to let you question me, as I refuse to talk, as you might find I did do something wrong. Then she goes on to collect her huge salary and is placed on leave. We let people off the hook; they screw up, they lie, and they continue with their good life. When are we going to hold people accountable? When are people like Lois Lerner going to be punished and put in jail? The democrats talk about voter suppression; what Lois Lerner and her crew did was the biggest voter suppression in America´s history, and no one is held accountable. These lying IRS agents are no about to implement our healthcare. 0bama is hiring another 20,000 of these arrogant people to run our healthcare. Anyone listening?

Unless you just crawled from under a rock, you can fairly well ascertain that the lady is as guilty as they come. No need to pander to her, simply get a rope, and move on to the next one who has "pled the 5th".Eventually you´ll get to a sensible person who will truly tell the truth about just how high up this went, rather than face the rope themselves.

Nearly six months after the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov, with the website running smoothly and more than five million people signed up as open enrollment heads to a close, a new glitch has come to light: Incorrect poverty-level guidelines are automatically telling what could be tens of thousands of eligible people they do not qualify for subsidized insurance. The mistake raises the price of their insurance by thousands of dollars, making insurance so unaffordable many

They also know when to separate themselves from the cranks and the losers on the right. Although both supported the shutdown and were heartily supported by tea party groups in their own Senate races, neither one has endorsed Matt Bevin in Kentucky, Milton Wolf in Kansas or Chris McDaniel in Mississippi. In fact, Cruz’s office confirms he hasn’t endorsed anyone in the primaries. He may weigh in after the primaries. Rand Paul has endorsed two very establishment

A brazen flash mob has been caught on camera storming a California store and making off with $20,000 worth of sunglasses. Surveillance footage shows eight women piling into a Sunglass Hut and crowding around display cases. Shielding workers from what they´re doing, they quickly stuff dozens of fashion specs into their bags. A store clerk pleads with them to stop, before running out of the shot to get help and dial 911. The thieves then all bolt outside and escape in a waiting SUV. The incident occurred at the Valencia Town Center mall, in Santa Clarita, at 3 p.m. on

The Bureau of Land Management today said it would stop trying to seize the cattle of Cliven Bundy after armed militia members today continuing to gather in Nevada in a confrontation with federal agents. BLM Director Neil Kornze said: ´Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of

Because you can find anything on the Web, you can easily search and pull up a running clock that tells you just how long, to the second, Barack Obama has been president. It moves in real time. It only feels like it´s speeding up. Constrained by crises over which he has little power to impact events, hemmed in by a divided Congress more interested in scoring points with voters than in legislating, and watching as his potential successor assumes more and more of the political spotlight, Obama may be receding into history more quickly than either he or his aides ever anticipated. It was impossible to listen to the president's speech Thursday
