Bobby and Jamie Deen
Deny Paula Deen Is Racist

Paula Deen´s sons Bobby and Jamie have leaped to their mother´s defense in her racial-slur scandal, saying she´s a good person who´s being unjustly maligned. "That word, that horrifying, terrible word that exists and I abhor it coming from any person ... we weren´t raised in a home where that word was used," Bobby Deen told CNN´s New Day program on Tuesday – referring to the N-word, which Paula Deen has admitted in a legal deposition to having used in the past. "Neither one of our parents ever taught us to be bigoted toward any other person

My daughter graduated from an elite Northern Womens College. Her advisor, the daughter of black commedian Richard Pryor. Since she was from the South, her advisor asked her to write a paper on the first time she ever heard the N Word.

It turned out the first time my daughter remembered hearing the N Word was when I brought home a copy of Blazing Saddles. And, the primary writer of that screenplay was: Richard Pryor!

She ended up writing on a different topic.

Rappers and Chris Rock use racial slurs all the time and get paid for it so I don´t see the big dust up.
I don´t care what hurts black´s feeling anymore they have showed their racist side so they aren´t important to me or my thoughts about this nothing burger.

She should tell them all to go to he$$, continue to run her resturant (which will still have more than enough patrons), and use the money she has earned to enjoy the remainder of her life. BTW, doing so free of the self-rightous jerks and morons that populate large sections of this nation. The a$$es making a big deal of this don´t mean very much to most Southerners anyway

She has a right to use any word she wants in her private conversations. She embarrassed herself begging and pleading for forgiveness when she should have just said it was no one else´s business.

That´s what happens when you cave to political correctness.

Paula Deen is an American treasure because she has worked hard to build the business she has now, raised two decent sons, and entertains the masses. She overcame great personal obstacles (for example, for many years she was afraid to come out of the house and go anywhere).

What this treasure said years ago means nothing today. It is how she behaves today that matters.

If you´re so inclined, go buy something Paula Deen this week. Show the Leftists (aka Communists) that their nonsense floats about as well as a log in a punch bowl.

She has apologized, what more do these people want?

When I was young and had just moved to Texas, our neighbor´s elderly granny would visit a lot. She was from East Texas, just a darling, sweet person and would do anything for you or anybody. We were talking one day and she casually used that word; I about dropped my teeth! It wasn´t used in an ugly manner, it was just how it was in the South to older people.

Get over it...

It no longer matters whether Deen has sufficiently apologized or whether her fans think she was unfairly targeted or whether anyone has "forgiven" her or whether other celebrities or policians have done worse. She is tarnished goods to her sponsors, her networks, her publisher. They don´t exist to help employees refurbish an image. It´s over for Paula Deen, at least the Paula Deen of the last several years.

The company which employed her has every right to no longer employer her if she no longer fits their business model. I have every right to no longer support their business model, and I don´t. Paula Deene will do fine but she´ll do it with abject apologies and lots of cash given to Democrats. So be it.

Being a liberal is hard as you can at any moment be politically incorrect and lose all unless you are a KKK recruiter like the Senate leader Robert Byrd.

People being offended by Paula Deen´s fat laden recipes on Food Network makes me laugh. How about the Barefoot Contessa´s (Ina Garten) Couer a la Creme; Take 12 0z of cream cheese, 2 1/2 cups heavy cream, 1 1/4 cups confectioner´s sugar, etc. Ina is twice the size of Paula. Not that I use those recipes or watch Food Network as we ditched cable and have no TV to watch now, but do remember It´s Entertainment.
Paula Deen may vote Democrat, but her real sin is that, as a liberal publication said, She is the Queen of Southern comfort cooking. She really isn´t of the "cool crowd of liberals" and getting rid of the country bumpkin cousin probably makes them very happy.

And #24, why the hate? Have you never heard of companies with names like John Cook & sons, for an instance? I have. Those sons were in the business since they were young. I respect that, and they love their mother and are probably devastated at the beating
she is taking.

I enjoy Paula Deen´s cookbooks very much. I have watched her shows on The Food Network for many years. I was raised on comfort food. I enjoy seeing recipes that I can find the ingredients for in my cupboard. The FN has slowly reprogrammed their schedule to add more shows that use products that you would have to be a detective to find in any market i.e chopped, iron chef, etc. Paula Deen, the Neelys and PW are scheduled for early weekend mornings and most of the time you have to record them. Paula Deen worked her way up and deserves the fruits of her labor. But, as with all successful people, there will always be those who are resentful and jealous and will look for ways to tear them down. Shame on these petty small people.

They might as well administer a lashing to all southerners of A Certain Age because the word was almost universally used in my childhood. I always hated it and don´t remember using it though almost all adults did from time to time and most everyone else. I have nothing against Mrs. Deen (and believe her ex-husband must have been related to my father´s old secretary´s husband). Like so many other southern lo-fo´s, being a Dem was all she knew. My conservative father would never came right out and admit voting Republican though no doubt he did for decades from the way he talked. Anyway, I do feel the rap against her is ridiculous in the extreme though also inevitable given "the current climate" and the fact that she naively blurted out the simple truth, which of course no one would understand. As for the plantation/slave scenario she dreamed up and divulged - I´ve run out of excuses for her; except that the woman must have been living deep in her own phantasy world devoid of the Thought Police the rest of us realize we´re subject to.

This whole kerfuffle could allegedly be stemming from an interview done with the Daily Mail in 2011 after a guest appearance by none other than Michelle Obama.

Evidently, Paula made the mistake of commenting on the fact that Michelle just could not stop eating, on camera, and off. Paula supposedly made a remark about how she had never seen someone eat so much in her life.

This could all be payback for that little incident.

This makes for a great challenge when it comes to sympathy for Paula and her family. This is the world she helped to create - Paula, perhaps if you change your name to Sarah, you might cut yourself some slack. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

FORT WORTH — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis will undergo neck surgery today, her campaign said Tuesday. “After experiencing shoulder and right arm pain in recent weeks, Sen. Davis will have a routine surgical procedure to remove bone spurs and degenerative discs that are creating compression on the nerves in her neck,” campaign spokesman Zac Petkanas said in a statement Tuesday. “This is a common issue experienced by runners and endurance athletes,” he said. Davis, of Fort Worth, will undergo the outpatient surgery at the Fort Worth Brain and Spine Institute. Dr. Thomas Ellis will perform the

The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million

Fish are losing their survival instinct as the world´s oceans become more acidic because of climate change, researchers have claimed. The study confirms laboratory experiments showing that the behavior of reef fishes can be seriously affected by increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the ocean. Carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is absorbed into ocean waters, where it dissolves and lowers the pH of the water. The new study is the first to analyze the sensory impairment of fish from CO2 seeps, where pH is similar to what climate models forecast for surface waters by the turn of the century. ´These results verify our laboratory
