She´s cooked! Deen´s Food
Channel Exit Way Overdue

New York Post, by Linda Stasi

The Food Network should have given Paula Deen the boot years ago. And not just because she shamelessly pushed killer diabetes-inducing food and then hooked up with a pharmaceutical company to push a $500-a-month diabetes drug. It should have fired her for her racist remarks, which were already a matter of speculation and rumor. But it took a public scandal like the one she’s embroiled in now for the Food Network to finally throw Deen out of the frying pan and into the fired. It’s a matter of record that racism and unethical practices have been bubbling

If this doesn´t calm down soonest, those photographs of fat, white Southerners are going to be big in the northeastern press. They are the perfect cliché for stunted liberals.

Even Deen´s worse recipes don´t compare to the super rich heart clogging foods serves by high end restaurants all over the country.Simple things like shrimp scampi. Both the Soprano´s star and Tim Russert died from eating these kinds of super rich diets.Russert was on cholesterol lowering drugs plus did some stationary bike riding but years of this kind of food consumption had already done them in.

The sopranos guy was also a heavy drinker that got out of control. The liver gives priority of ridding itself of alcohol and is too over worked to break the fats down in food.

I am having trouble understanding all the vitriol against this woman. Not really a fan but who cares if she made money with her traditional recipes. Are we now all forced to hate people who love traditional recipes? What is so terrible about discovering you have Diabetes and then changing your recipes to a more healthy focus and contracting with a company to endorse a drug they make for your affliction? Is this what our country has become?

FTA: Yesterday, Smithfield dropped Deen’s ham line, leaving us all to ponder whether a girl can ever recover from losing her hams.

Well, I guess she had to be dropped because she was Eeeeeevil. And she was evil because she said bad things as opposed to, say, subverting elections, encouraging criminal behavior, denying people their rights, promoting violence, etc.

This is all just BS.
Deen´s contract with Food Network expires in leass than 2 weeks.
If the issue was that Deen committed the cardinal sin of uttering the dread n-word years ago, then the Food Network could simply not chosen to renew her contract. Same thing for the diabetes drug sponsorship.

No, something else is going on. Food Network is publicly pillorying Deen. This is a personal attack on her that is totally unnecessary to meet their business objectives.

This is because Deen joked about Moochelle scarfing down large quantities of the chicken that Deen prepared during a commercial break when Moochelle was a guest on the show. I think she even made comparison to a horse.
This is direct from the vindictive, vengeful, thin-skinned punk in the WH and his all-too-eager-to-please sycophants in media.

BOY, talk about low-info voters! If the people who watched and followed Deen´s recipes did not know the danger of high sugar/fat, where the heck have they been? Same with cigarette smoking, the dangers of that have been well known since I was a girl (long, long ago). Have people NO responsibility for their own actions?

This is nothing but a personal hit-piece from someone who apparently has had it out for Deen for a loooooooong time.

I don´t think the writer of this article has the facts correct surrounding the "slave wedding" thing either. Not from what I´ve read. Although, I did not read the 150 page deposition.

Was the "slave" theme for Deen´s brother´s wedding?

Linda Stasi, you are an elitist bigot but too ignorant to be aware of same.

I hate to tell you, "honey", but the food this woman cooks is for people who actually have to work for a living, like plowing a field or working a loading dock, not pretending to work by scribbling out some bilious exudate while digesting your wheatgrass juice and bean curd cakes.

Oh, and I am sure you have a Simon Pure background, never uttered a hurtful thing to a single living creature ever in your life, right? Go read your article and tell me that with a straight face.

I guess Paula Deen will no longer be able to hold a gun to the heads of those who watch her show and make them cook all those bad recipes. Thanks for the arrogant heads up, Judith. You are so smart.

We all (supposedly) live in an adult society where grown ups may cook or eat whatever they wish. Nothing wrong with that. I myself found some of Paula´s dishes easy to make and tasty. The irony is that the cruel inconsistencies of the Lefty politics she pursued by hobnobbing with Carter and campaigning for Zippy, finally got her.

Wow, what a nasty article!!! What a nasty person Ms. Stasi must be. Although I shouldn´t be, I am always surprised at the vitriolic comments some of the so-called "enlightened elites" spew.

Re: her diabetes. I have never seen so many ignorant claims about a disease as I have since her diagnosis became public. One does not cause their diabetes; you can´t just eat your way to it. But the assumption being made is that everyone who eats the types of food Paula Deen makes will become obese, and that every obese person will automatically become diabetic. Here´s a quote from the American Diabetes Association: "Myth: If you are overweight or obese, you will eventually develop type 2 diabetes. Fact: Being overweight is a risk factor for developing this disease, but other risk factors such as family history, ethnicity and age also play a role.... Most overweight people never develop type 2 diabetes, and many people with type 2 diabetes are at a normal weight or only moderately overweight.

Sorry, but I couldn´t finish this article. I am from the South and love fried chicken, biscuits, etc. and would love to point out to this nasty, narrow-minded bigot of a writer that people in the South don´t regularly keel over in their twenties or something.

I have spent a lifetime eating Paula Deen-type food. (although I´m not a big fan of hers) I had a heart cath last year (did you know that if you have "a lot of dense breast tissue" (the translation of that would get this booted) it will read as a blockage in 15% of stress tests?

Yeah, I´m 63, not skinny, a steroid-induced diabetic, (thanks to a stupid doctor). Since I have eaten Southern food all my life, my very young doctor was convinced I needed this procedure because of what looked like a "large blockage".

Glad they didn´t just cut me open. I have, as he put it after the cath, "Amazingly clear arteries".

So leave the Southern food alone, you dopes. It´s about lots of factors...according to my very well-respected cardiologist. And I suspect he is a lot smarter and better-educated that some imbecile writing for the NY Post.

I really don´t care if she used a bad word many years ago. He who is without sin... Has any black person come forward to say she used the racial insult directly at them? Is there evidence she discriminated against black people? This is really just an attack by the food police on someone who dares to advocate cooking with fat and sugar--ie, the stuff that makes food taste good. Where is the evidence that her food killed anyone or that it caused her own health problem? Diabetes can be inherited and can strike people of all shapes and sizes. Let the viewers decide if they want to watch her show and use the ratings to decide whether to renew her contract.

Deen has a big potty mouth and she "went Hollywood" some time ago. Sitting down for a NYT interview LIVE, are you stupid or what? Of course, race just happened to come up? A trap! My two cents...

1. It´s not the butter and fat that kills or causes cholesterol. It´s the CARBS. Eat all the Fat you want - stay away from the carbs. I think Paula Deen even discovered that because I read she lost weight limiting carbs.

2. This is designed to desensitize all of us to what happens to a person when they don´t toe the line. More of his to come.

3. All the hype about he BUTTER et al is a way of making us think that ´THEY´ know what´s best for us and by God, they WILL decide what we are going to eat. They can now do that with ocare.

4. She´s from te south and must be destroyed.

5. She dissed the first linebacker.

6. I had previously decided no more Smithfield or their subsidiaries due to even THINKING of selling out to he Chicoms. Look up their subsidiaries if you decide not to purchase their products.

I, too, believe that this is about the moose´s eating habits. Deen is a D but that didn´t protect her. obama himself said that revenge is the best signal to send. I think everyone who writes a negative article about Deen should have to pass a lie detector test. All questions must be about their thoughts on the black community. If they pass then they can write the article. Not everyone wants to live off of bean curd and carrots. You do not have to watch her, cook her recipes or buy her products. This is overkill. I wish more people were upset about the IRS, obama´s 100 million dollar trip to Africa and the other scandals.

Washington´s green revolving door keeps on spinning. President Obama’s Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood has left the administration and joined an electric bus company he subsidized and praised while in office. Proterra Inc. makes buses that require no gasoline or diesel – they run on electricity and fuel cells. You can see why electric buses would appeal to cities that want to clean the air and reduce fuel usage: City buses run a predictable number of miles a day, averting worries about dead batteries. Also, a fleet of buses creates economies of scale that can make recharging infrastructure economical. Proterra

Texas, often the most interesting political state in the country, has been a scrooge about polling data recently. The exit pollsters of 2012 saved money by skipping the state, denying us data about how the Democrats (and Ted Cruz) played with Hispanic voters. This year´s pollsters have mostly ignored the snoozer primary between Sen. John Cornyn and a scattering of conservative challengers. But we have the new University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll, the first I´ve seen that covers every candidate in a primary that ends in eight days. The poll´s an "internet survey of 1,200 registered voters"—not ideal, but good enough.

Is Black History Month still needed?

ATLANTA -- They were born long after the Jim Crow laws that officially divided American society were banished to history´s dustbin. Their lives began more than 20 years after Martin Luther King was assassinated, and just 20 years before the nation elected the first black president. They are African-American 20-somethings, members of the so-called post-racial era that began with President Obama´s election, whose lives have been lived largely free of overt racism. For many of them, the very notion of Black History Month is a trite anachronism. It´s a time given over to rote recitations of a few well-known factoids about the

Singer Miley Cyrus may have thumbed her nose at critics of her risqué Bangerz tour, but parents and concerned citizen groups are still weighing in on what many see as a performer who is evolving into a symbol of cultural decay. As Breitbart News’ Christian Toto has reported, Cyrus tweeted a message to critics of her racy on-stage antics: “Save your complaints for the McDonalds drive thru when they forget the ‘fries with that.’” People has reported Cyrus’ latest surprise. Dressed in a sparkling black cat suit and platform pumps, the former Hannah Montana, while singing Adore You during her

On Sunday evening, award-winning actor and prominent left-wing activist Alec Baldwin announced that he was leaving "public life"--and blamed "Roger Ailes. And Fox. And Breitbart." In an extended rant to Joe Hogan, posted on vulture.com and published in New York magazine, Baldwin recounted his run-ins with paparazzi, his gay slur controversies, and his ill-fated talk show on MSNBC--but he reserved special resentment for Breitbart. "There is a core of outlets that are pushing these stories out. Breitbart clutters the blogosphere with ´Alec Baldwin, he’s the Devil, he’s Fidel Baldwin,´" Baldwin claimed. "....And this is all about hate.

Employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) destroyed veterans’ medical files in a systematic attempt to eliminate backlogged veteran medical exam requests, a former VA employee told The Daily Caller. Audio of an internal VA meeting obtained by TheDC confirms that VA officials in Los Angeles intentionally canceled backlogged patient exam requests.“The committee was called System Redesign and the purpose of the meeting was to figure out ways to correct the department’s efficiency. And one of the issues at the time was the backlog,” Oliver Mitchell, a Marine veteran and former patient services assistant in the VA Greater Los

Former Vice President Dick Cheney responded Monday night to the Obama administration’s proposal to cut the U.S. Army to its lowest point since before World War II. Calling into Fox News’ “Hannity,” Cheney declared the proposed cuts to be “absolutely dangerous” and “just devastating.” “I have not been a strong supporter of Barack Obama. But this really is over the top. It does enormous long-term damage to our military,” Cheney said. ”They act as though it is like highway spending and you can turn it on and off. The fact of the matter is he is having a huge impact

She may not look anywhere near her 76 years but Jane Fonda says she is well aware of her age. The Hollywood legend – who has made her career in an industry which isn´t exactly kind to aging actresses - admits she has been brought to tears on more than one occasion recently as she comes to terms with her own mortality. In a thoughtful blog post entitled ´Crying´, which has since been removed, Jane wrote: ´[I´ve been thinking], how come my tears are so close to the surface? And I’ve come to feel it has to do with age

Mitt Romney on Tuesday joined a growing chorus of Republicans urging the Arizona governor to veto a bill that would allow business owners to cite their religious beliefs in refusing service to gay people. The former Massachusetts governor tweeted at Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R), saying it “is right” to veto the bill passed by the state legislature last week. Brewer has not said whether she will sign or veto the measure. However, a number of media outlets have reported people close to her expect her to veto it. Brewer told CNN she would weigh both sides before deciding the right thing to

It has the makings of a royal mess for “King Barack.” Monday morning’s Supreme Court argument about the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases went badly for the Obama administration — so much so that the real question before the justices seemed to be how severe the EPA’s loss would be. The administration’s solicitor general, Donald Verrilli, pleaded with the justices to recognize the “urgent problem” of climate change, because the “threat to future generations gets worse” with each passing year. But as the argument played out, the court’s swing justice, Anthony Kennedy, made clear that he

A solider has infuriated the online military community by posting a picture of herself on Instagram hiding in her car to avoid saluting the flag during retreat ceremony, which signals the end of duty for the day. An Instagram picture of Pfc. Tariqka Sheffey has gone viral. DETROIT -- In a fiery speech Sunday delivered to 18,000 at Joe Louis Arena, Minister Louis Farrakhan blasted the judicial systems in the U.S. as being biased against African Americans, calling upon the community to set up their own courts. "We want equal justice under the law," Farrakhan said on the last day of the Nation of Islam´s annual convention, held in Detroit this year. "Our people can´t take much more. We have to have our own courts." With Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., and Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones sitting behind him, Farrakhan spoke for nearly three hours, reiterating the Nation

Were he alive today, Richard Nixon would have to doff his hat to Barack Obama. Compared with how the Obama administration has swept under the rug the Benghazi attacks of September 11, 2012, Nixon’s attempt to cover up the Watergate burglary was rank amateurism. To be fair, Nixon’s team of Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Mitchell, and Dean were not in the same league as Obama’s, which includes not only his cabinet but most of the national media and much of Congress. If a president were intent on covering something up—something big, such as an illegal gun walking operation to Mexico or a dereliction

Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman is pushing for legislation that would ban openly gay athletes from the National Football League, spurred on by the recent news about Michael Sam publicly coming out. He is appealing directly to Republican members of Congress to propose a bill on the issue, telling The Huffington Post that there are five House members and one senator “interested in co-sponsoring the bill” and he expects more to join on. Burkman acknowledges that normally, conservatives don’t like the idea of imposing policy on private businesses, but says that this belief is now “trumped for reason of great urgency or

Robert F Kennedy Jr. has spoken out in defense of his beleaguered sister as her trial for driving under the influence of drugs begins in White Plains, New York, on Monday. Kerry Kennedy was arrested in 2012 after her car hit a tractor-trailer on a highway near her home outside New York City. [Snip] But ´Bobby´ Kennedy has defended Kerry, 54, pointing to the positive impact of her human rights activism. And she got further family support when her mother Ethel Kennedy, 85, turned up at court. ´Kerry´s been instrumental in freeing political prisoners and dissidents from around the globe
