Return of the Tea Party
National Review, by Eliana Johnson

Activists who had not protested en masse since the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act over a year ago descended last week on IRS offices across the country, decrying the agency’s discrimination against them. In Washington, Congress’s colorful tea-party caucus reemerged, too. At a press conference on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, Texas representative Louie Gohmert took to the podium to call the president a “tyrannical despot,” and 2016 presidential hopeful Rand Paul demanded answers from the IRS. Newly energized by the scandals roiling the administration, tea-party activists and lawmakers who associate themselves with the movement are looking

The Tea Party is the party of traditional American patriotic values. What are the arguments against that?

FTA: “The energy to go and stand out on the street, rain or shine . . . comes from not knowing what else to do,” Carender says. Between the 2010 midterm elections and the recent Obama scandals, tea-party activists were exercising their influence in quieter ways. “People were funneling their energy into mundane activities that nobody could see, attending city-council meetings, local-government board meetings, doing educational things in their communities,” Carender adds. Kibbe concurs, noting that many movement stalwarts who protested in 2009 and 2010 turned their attention to effecting change on the local level in the intervening years.

This is very true here in East TN. The Agenda 21 crowd had dissipated the TP energy here. Add to that the IRS "pressure" and GOP sidelining, and what happened in 2012 becomes more understandable.

What worked in 2010 didn´t work in 2012 and won´t work in 2014 or 2016. We´re beyond waving our signs in the rain. What´s needed are organization, a platform, vetted candidates, and discipline. That can only be provided by a new political party, as the existing "big tent" parties are part of the problem.

Senator Rubio will not be up for reelection; otherwise, I expect the Tea Party would back a challenger for his seat. Palin made a mistake when she endorsed him (no one´s perfect).

And, I will be surprised if they don´t search out a challenger for John Boehner´s seat.

TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party.

The agenda needs to be fiscal responsibility and discipline.

Can most gov´t departments live with 3-4% increase instead of 7-8%?

Hold politicians responsible for the economic inactivity that will support the obligations - not just simply asking the same few for a little more.

Remind teachers, police and firefighters that higher costs for gasoline hurts their budgets.

Why isn´t the post office using electric vehicles?

Energy development are jobs that won´t be shipped overseas, provide NEW revenues to cities, counties and states, and can reduce our expenses.

Now that the boot of the Obama regime´s IRS, FBI and DOJ is off the necks of the TEA Party people, they can concentrate a little more on what they started to do : get rid of the Progressive stink in our government from corrupt Democretins on the Liberal side and corrupt RINOs on the conservative side. Both sides hate the TEA Party. Sounds crazy to think that any party using the word "Patriot" in its name has been targeted by the IRS for harassment. Something you would expect from King George if he were still around today. We have his namesake, King Obama, in his place nowadays. Disgusting Progressives.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Faced with limited information and no regulatory guidelines on a chemical that´s put drinking water off limits for 300,000 West Virginians, government scientists have come up with a level of Crude MCHM they believe is safe. Federal and state officials have put out a number -- 1 part per million -- and are noting hopefully that chemical concentrations in the region´s Elk River water supply are dropping ever closer to that figure. At the same time, officials in the Tomblin administration and with West Virginia American Water are refusing to make public the results of their testing.

Michelle Obama entered the White House as a chimera. To some, she was emblematic of fully realized African American womanhood and an incomparable fashion icon. To others, she was the voice of racial grievance, the nanny state and Seventh Avenue vanity. She has proved herself to be neither vengeful nor the patron saint of activist feminism. Yet misperceptions linger. So as she celebrates her 50th birthday, here are a few facts in the face of persistent fictions. 1. Michelle Obama is the most fashion-friendly first lady. Obama has been a pronounced and polished advocate for American style, seamlessly moving from

On Friday a Wisconsin judge struck a major blow for free political speech when he quashed subpoenas to conservative groups and ordered the return of property to the targets of a so-called John Doe campaign-finance probe. John Doe probes operate much like grand juries, allowing prosecutors to issue subpoenas and conduct searches while gag orders require the targets to keep quiet. We wrote about the kitchen-sink subpoenas and morning raids by special prosecutor Francis Schmitz that targeted dozens of conservative groups that participated in the battle to recall Republican Governor Scott

Cue the foodie firestorm. “Disaster,” declared a writer at New York magazine, citing the longstanding city protocol of devouring pizza, no matter how greasy, with the hands, and the hands only.
