Kanye West was slammed as being ´disrespectful´ after planning to project his new video on the walls of the The Alamo, just days after the same thing happened at a Houston venue. More than 500 fans turned up on Sunday night to see the video New Slaves after the event at the historic site was advertised on his official website. But officials said no permit had been issued for the video projection and the event in San Antonio did not take place. Scroll down for video...

Kanye is either seriously stupid or has a death wish. Anyone disrespecting the Alamo is subject to being shot dead, and no Texas jury would ever convict the person that "took out the trash".

I get the impression (despite some difficulty in understanding the language used) that the performer is upset about slavery. Me, too. In fact I suspect most people would be upset about slavery. What does he propose we do about it?

Perhaps we could have a war, invade the slave-holding states, devastate their economies, burn their houses, and free all the slaves. It would come at a terrible cost--as many as 600,000 men could die.

Would it be worth it? Surely we would earn the undying gratitude of the freed slaves and that of all their descendants...

My 2nd great grand-uncle, Joseph P. Bayliss newly arrived from Tennessee with David Crockett, swore allegiance to the Republic of Texas in Nacogdoches, and then rode to the Alamo, where they all died.

The Alamo is not a "historic site" to native Texans, it is a shrine. Men must uncover their heads when entering, and voices are muffled.

This sorry piece of low-life should not even be able to stand on the street a block away.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pete Ricketts was officially endorsed on Friday morning by former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who spoke before a wildly enthusiastic crowd at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island. Palin was joined in that endorsement by former Republican Gov. Kay Orr, who has been working on Ricketts’ behalf within GOP circles but endorsed his candidacy in a very public way on Friday. In giving their endorsements to Ricketts, Palin and Orr formed a mutual admiration society. Orr said she and her late husband, Bill, were driving home from Iowa when a talk radio program was

President Obama on Saturday continued his election-year assault on the House GOP’s latest budget proposal, telling Americans the plan would “raise taxes on middle-class families with kids” and cut crucial programs while giving more handouts to the rich. In his weekly address, Mr. Obama made his case — without explicitly saying so — why voters should elect more Democrats in this November’s midterm elections and contrasted the GOP plan with his party’s priorities. “This week, the Republicans in Congress put forward a very different budget … it shrinks opportunity and makes it harder for Americans who work hard to get

A federal proposal requiring more efficiency from wood-burning stoves has ignited a debate between the Obama administration and lawmakers who oppose the new regulations, arguing the rules impose an unfair burden on people in remote areas. The Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule changes in January that would dramatically tighten emissions requirements on new wood-powered heaters, though does not impact ones already in homes. The EPA estimates that as much as 13 percent of all soot pollution in the U.S. is a result of inefficient wood-fired stoves and boilers.
