Groups Targeted by I.R.S.
Tested Rules on Politics

New York Times, by Nicholas Confessore

Original Article

When CVFC, a conservative veterans’ group in California, applied for tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service, its biggest expenditure that year was several thousand dollars in radio ads backing a Republican candidate for Congress. The Wetumpka Tea Party, from Alabama, sponsored training for a get-out-the-vote initiative dedicated to the “defeat of President Barack Obama” while the I.R.S. was weighing its application.

Well, when you consider the ´Rat groups, the headline just as well could have read "Liberal Groups Not Targeted by I.R.S. Tested Rules on Politics."

Wham is correct. And what about the inner city churches handing out street money and busing the parish to the polls to vote 100% for Obama? I have never heard that their tax exempt status was being challenged. Here in Michigan the pastors were telling their congregations that the republicans were going to take away their EBT cards and their weed. What could be more political than that!

The Confessor of the NYT religion projects all virtue to his faith and refuses to see that his faith needs reformation as much as Islam does. He projects all evil on the devil conservatives and they must be destroyed by any means.

Maybe we should make IRS targeting one of the criteria for doing business. For example, Gibson Guitars is clearly a good organization. If you want to buy a guitar for a favored friend, Go to Gibson Guitars! IRS Targets - It Just Feels Right!

I should like to advance a conjecture which I lack the qualifications to adequately develop: The global Left, and the Israeli Left most of all, perceives that the clock is running out, and has worked itself up into a froth of hysteria against Israel. The world of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” where there are no countries and no religions, is about to dissipate like last night’s marijuana fumes. The demographic time bomb that worries the Left is not the relative increase of Arab vs. Jewish populations between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River, speciously cited by John Kerry and a hostof

Harvey Whittemore gets 2 years

Calling the case “an incredibly criminal, intentional act,” a federal judge on Monday sentenced fallen Nevada power broker Harvey Whittemore to two years in prison and fined the former multimillionaire $100,000 for using family and employees to make illegal campaign contributions to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The announcement came at the end of a six-hour sentencing hearing that included an emotional statement from the 61-year-old Whittemore, an ex-lobbyist and wealthy land developer, in which he said he accepted full responsibility, was sorry and ashamed of his actions, and begged U.S. District Judge Larry Hicks for mercy.

National union leaders criticized President Barack Obama’s signature health care law in a scathing letter sent earlier this month to Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. The signatories lambasted the law for “perverse incentives” that are already creating “nightmare scenarios” that could “destroy the foundation of the 40-hour workweek.” Largely seen as allies to the Democratic president, union leaders from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the United Food and Commercial Workers, and UNITE Here went public with concerns that could affect all workers, not just unionized employees.

Harvey Whittemore, once the most powerful lobbyist in Nevada and the head of a billion-dollar development company, was convicted Wednesday of using family and employees to funnel illegal campaign contributions to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2007. Whittemore, 59, could face a combined maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and $750,000 in fines on the three felony charges. U.S. District Judge Larry Hicks sent sentencing for Sept. 23. Whittemore´s lawyer Dominic Gentile said he will argue for probation, adding that similar cases had resulted in non-prison punishments, and then appeal the case.

The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. So the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jet well into its flight Saturday morning over the South China Sea has led aviation experts to assume that whatever happened was quick and left the pilots no time to place a distress call. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network´s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network´s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

“I told you so.” Those have to be four of the most satisfying words in the English language. And Mitt Romney has earned the right to speak that short sentence, over and over again, whenever he chooses. Not that he would — it would be “unbecoming,” to use one of Romney’s old-fashioned words that in 2002 had the mandarins of Political Correctness harrumphing about his “sexism,” I believe the charge was that time. But these days, Mitt looks more and more prescient, and his critics ever more deluded. First of all, Russia has become “our number one geopolitical foe,” as he put it
