While delivering the commencement speech at historically black Morehouse College, President Obama predictably utilized "victimology 101" to access the inner victim that presumably exists inside all black Americans. He disingenuously reminded the all-male graduates, "As an African American, you have to work twice as hard as anyone else if you want to get by." Unsurprisingly, this underhanded insinuation that racism is so pervasive that no amount of individual effort will overcome it received a thunderous ovation, even though this recycled notion has the legitimacy of a three-dollar bill.
The folks on the plantation need to be reminded they are still slaves to whitey and only the democrats can save them. If Obama told them Abe Lincoln was a democrat 75% would believe him. The other 25%, born in Nigeria or Somalia would wonder who Abe Lincoln is.
Mr Obama, we all have to work four times harder to get anywhere in this country, since we don´t have the connections/network that you established over the years. In addition, it doesn´t appear to us that you work excessively hard at your job. Your comments on this matter are condescending to blacks and encourage resentment against whites.
By this time, products of a self-segregated education, they get the picture. Then the "real world" proves their teachers and mentors right by demanding something a Morehouse liberal arts degree doesn´t provide. Diversity is desirable everywhere except "historically black colleges." Augusta National is more diverse than Morehouse.
This diatribe from a man who has take more vacation than any other president, whose wife and family have wasted millions of dollars going on undeserved jaunts. He, who has accomplished nothing notable in his life, surely no known for his work ethic, tells other affirmative action sponges they need to work harder - while he loafs with his feet on the desk!
In the American military, if you are black, or a woman, or a Muslim and you are breathing, you are promoted. Meanwhile, more qualified and more effective white males are forced out of the Military in the name of diversity. Just look at this ineffective poseur we have as President to see the terrible results of affirmative action run amok. "Work twice as hard"; what an effing joke!
The old saw to "work twice as hard as anyone else if you want to get by" has been false since Affirmative Action was instated. All a black man needs to do to get promoted is to be at work and breathing. Black women do not necessarily have to do either (be there or breathing), I have been passed over numerous times, as have almost all Caucasians in the workplace for several decades.
When I was 21, my husband got me a job at the road construction company where he worked, driving the water truck. Three days later, while sitting in the truck on a break, a black man opened the door and asked me "What are you doing in my truck?" I said "It´s my job now, the former worker didn´t show up for work, so the foreman hired me." "They cant´ fire me, I´m black."
An entire racial attitude that continues today and that happened forty years ago.
Poster #5 are only partially correct: Your comments on this matter are condescending to blacks and encourage resentment against whites.
Comments/attitudes evidenced by 0bama´s speech also create the whole entitlement attitude: the "You owe me because you are white and I am black." The "I´ve had this job 3 months, I should be the manager by now" when the speaker didn´t even finish school. The "My goal in life is to have a baby by the time I´m sixteen, then I will get welfare, Food Stamps, Section 8 Housing, MedicAid, no one can tell me what to do and I won´t have to listen to my Mom about ambition or goals."
The last one was said by the daughter of a co-worker, she got her "goal" unfortunately, she also became a meth addict and ended up dying young.
Work twice as hard? What a joke. I´ve yet to work with an AA hire that worked half as hard as I have. When one gets into a position of authority, they will work twice as hard at making life miserable for everyone who is not in their ethnic group. They also work twice as hard at trying to convince everyone they really deserved the promotion, and that AA was not a factor. Unfortunately that doesn´t include actually performing an excellent job, just walking around and talking and belly aching about everything that isn´t exactly what they want. I´m retired now, I have had my fill of the ´diversity´ racket. I now stay out of office politics and federal requirements.
Democrats tell us that ObamaCare is "the law of the land," and that the Supreme Court declared it constitutional, and that we should get used to it -- it´s here to stay. Actually, the Court found ObamaCare unconstitutional on two counts, but let it pass anyway. The problem for defenders of ObamaCare is that its court challenges just keep coming. One place to check up on them is the website Health Care Lawsuits. In September, the American Enterprise Institute ran an article by Chris Conover headlined "Will the Courts Derail Obamacare?" The article covers several of the ongoing court challenges to
It is now quite clear that President Obama is managing the shutdown of 17% of the government to inflict pain, while sparing himself and his family any discomfort. Although his media lickspittles will not publicize the worst abuses, social media offers us the chance to spread the word of his peculiar priorities. Today, we learn that the Amber Alert website, which helps rescue kidnapped children, has been taken down "due to the lapse in federal funding." Meanwhile, as Weasel Zippers points out, Let´s Move, Michelle Obama´s pet project against childhood obesity had its site, letsmove.gov still up. In a White House of skewed
Snopes.com is a website that purports to investigate the truthfulness of news reports and internet rumors. But apparently, its primary readership is stupid people. Why else would it bother to "debunk" an obvious work of satire, by well-known brilliant satirists at the website iOwnTheWorld.com? (Incidentally, a daily must-read for me). Here is the image that Snopes found to be "false" (snip)Notice that they omitted the credit to iOwnTheWorld.com, presumably because readers might have actually gone there and realized it is a satirical site. Thus, they betray their crass political motivations, to discredit critics of Obama´s handling of the shutdown. This is
What´s a leftist to do when a cherished program fails embarrassingly? Of course, create a phantom success, and publicize it relentlessly. And that is exactly what has happened with the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov and the assorted state websites intended to enroll people in Obamacare. Obamacare found its poster boy for "success" in one Chad Henderson, who claims to have successfully enrolled where others have encountered nothing but frustration. As Chad wrote on his Facebook page: I´ve now been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post,Chattanooga Times Free Press, The Huffington Post, Enroll America, and POLITICO!
In an incident ignored by the media, race-baiter extraordinaire Andrea Mitchell and other big-name journalists candidly exposed their bigotry and racial prejudices at a friendly forum in the nation´s capital last year. In an unusually candid conversation, mainstream media stars Mitchell, David Gregory, and Dana Milbank let loose in an orgy of Caucasian self-flagellation during a panel discussion titled, "Media: Race & Politics - The Impact of Race in Politics 2012," at the National Action Network´s conference in Washington, D.C. The left-wing street thug group is headed by none other than Jew-hating homophobe and Obama ally Al Sharpton.
It now appears a lease with the federal government is only as good as the President occupying the White House. From an 18th century living history farm in Virginia to campgrounds in Arizona, the federal government is forcing private operators close down simply because their facilities are on land owned by the federal government. The inconvenienced customers are being told this is part of the government shutdown even though prior shutdowns never affected these facilities. How stupid is this? These operations cost the federal government nothing to maintain and most often pay a percentage of their gross fees back to the
So much for the "crisis" predicted by doomsayers. The purported catastrophe that the partial federal government "shutdown" would cause on Wall Street has failed to develop. Marketwatch reports, "U.S. stocks on Tuesday climbed for the first session in three, bouncing back from multi-week lows...." (snip) In the meantime, the public is learning that most of the federal government employees are not essential, and that we can get along fine with a smaller government.
I got my letter today. I was self employed for my business career. No retirement after 20 years and no pension. I was required to save for my retirement and rely on the expected historical yields that I have come to expect from my 60 years. The major insurance company with which I have had my family health insurance for over 20 years said they are no longer offering the policy under which I am covered. It was a high deductible. In other words, I paid nearly all of my bills out of pocket. Didn´t particularly like it, but settled for it. Now
Republicans are falling into the trap the Democrats have set for them. By repeatedly voting to overturn Obamacare without proposing any effective alternative, House Republicans are allowing Democrats to brand them as "enemies of the poor." The public does not like Obamacare but they do want healthcare reform, especially with regard to soaring costs. Previous Republican plans, though sensible, have addressed secondary matters such as tax breaks, administration and insurance and have not considered the fundamental issue of reducing costs by radically changing our antiquated healthcare processes.
No one can deny the nature of jihad after last week´s horrors in Kenya were broadcast around the world. Everybody who saw the brutal Nairobi mall killings gets it. But our profoundly corrupt and Muslim-penetrated media and political class will keep denying those horrors. British PM David Cameron just made the usual nauseating pronouncement that "Islam means peace." The ruling classes in the West were able to twist and cover up the truth after 9/11. They are desperate to peddle denial, because they are deeply afraid that popular outrage will destroy their power. Hillary hired a Muslim Brotherhood loyalist, Huma Abedin,
In one of his more disgraceful outbursts, John McCain recently blasted Ted Cruz (snip) Maybe I am misreading McCain´s response to Cruz, but I infer that the implication here is: we are all slaves by nature and must submit to whichever coterie has attained power over the ever-growing and self-enriching amoeba of Washington, D.C. I felt hurt. Then I felt angry. Then I wondered if there is some deeper metaphysics to what McCain said. Is he perhaps striking at some eternal wisdom about the human condition -- resistance is futile? Or is John McCain just very old?
Not too long ago, I spent a few days at an oceanfront resort hotel. While I was there, an Islamic group of about a hundred people checked in for a few days. My stay at the beach provided an unforeseen opportunity to observe their psychosocial process. I got to watch a group of jeans-clad teenagers plot to escape their parents. I watched a father grab and swat his son, who was running up and down a broad, carpeted staircase (good luck keeping that one down on the farm). One evening, a woman in a full black burqa walked into the lobby. At
Families of fallen military service members usually receive a "death gratuity" of $100,000 for interment and expenses within days, but not during government shutdown. They paid the ultimate price serving their country — but their government can’t spare a cent to cover their funerals. The stooges on Capitol Hill added insult to tragedy Tuesday when it was revealed that the families of four soldiers and a Marine who were killed in Afghanistan have not received a $100,000 “death gratuity” because of the government shutdown....
From its earliest days, the Obama Administration has operated from a “community organizer” worldview, characterized by an “us” against “them” perspective. The President has repeatedly and in a variety of circumstances said, “Elections have consequences, and I won” as an excuse for yet another executive order, non-Constitutional decision, or “in-your-face” arrogant action. The President goes through the motions of listening to others: he claims to be bipartisan; he hosts White House confabs and talks about the need for compromise, but he always ends up saying, “I won,” and ends any pretense of discussion or negotiation. He explains that, as President,
I was born at the beginning of the Second World War into a family of high school teachers who were members of the Communist Party, and therefore were actually part of a vast conspiracy dedicated to the destruction of this country, although they would never have looked at it that way, and so-called liberals would be the first to deny it. (Snip) It is also an unhappy but hugely important fact that the conspiracy to which my parents belonged has steadily migrated into the heart of the Democratic Party until it now occupies the Oval Office in the person of
WASHINGTON — Starting in about a decade, Kingston, Jamaica, will probably be off-the-charts hot — permanently. Other places will soon follow. Singapore in 2028. Mexico City in 2031. Cairo in 2036. Phoenix and Honolulu in 2043. And eventually the whole world in 2047. A new study on global warming pinpoints the probable dates for when cities and ecosystems around the world will regularly experience hotter environments the likes of which they have never seen before. And for dozens of cities, mostly in the tropics, those dates are a generation or less away. "This paper is both innovative and sobering," said
I’m tempted to call it a clown show but that would be insulting to clowns:(Snip for graphic) It ran for one hour and six minutes, with 12 different reporters being called on — although, notably, not Ed Henry of Fox News — and between them they couldn’t muster one question about the catastrophe that is Healthcare.gov or the spectacle of National Park Rangers locking senior-citizen tourists out of war memorials and/or inside their hotels. I admit that, near the end of it, when Twitter was already starting to buzz about the oh-fer on this week’s two unhappy topics, I started
Gov. Jerry Brown of California signed AB 154 on Wednesday, legalizing non-physician abortions in the state. The legislation, which had been pushed vigorously by Planned Parenthood, had been strongly opposed by pro-life groups and some physicians, arguing that it amounted to legalizing back-alley abortions for profit. In a statement, Gov. Brown boasted that AB 154 was one of seven bills signed Tuesday "to support the health and well-being of women in California."
The National Park System has a budget of $2.6 billion, much of it raised by concession and attendance fees. Even if it were entirely taxpayer-funded it would represent only .00068 of every federal dollar in our $3.8 trillion budget. Nonetheless, hardball-playing White House strategists have made it the most conspicuous instrument of pain inflicted by the federal shutdown. The Republican House has tried to fund the park system during the struggle over Obamacare funding, but without success. Even park funding offers by states have been rejected by the feds. Almost every day brings fresh examples of unnecessary annoyances and hardships visited
Tyranny, being as endemic to the human condition as other similar privations of the human good such as ignorance, vice, or sickness, is as old as mankind. What may be new, however, is the uniquely intractable form of tyranny that is currently metastasizing throughout the world, namely the rule of an authoritarian plurality of societal parasites. Our next thousand years of darkness, if such be our fate, will begin under the governance of a "parasitocracy." The modern West has defied ancient wisdom on so many fronts, introducing new modes of existence and coexistence, spreading prosperity and promise in hitherto inconceivable measures,
The Obama administration insisted Tuesday it had no choice but to withhold death benefits to relatives of 1st Lt. Jennifer Moreno, a 25-year-old soldier born and raised in San Diego, and four other soldiers killed since the partial government shutdown began Oct. 1. This is ridiculous and perverse. President Barack Obama has used an expansive — and some legal scholars believe extreme — interpretation of his powers to unilaterally rewrite key provisions of the No Child Left Behind law, the sweeping 2002 measure that drastically reshaped federal education policies. In similar fashion, the president has unilaterally rewritten key provisions of
I am just wondering if Miriam Carey, the mentally ill mother who drove her black Infiniti down Pennsylvania Avenue after she rammed a White House barricade, was read her Miranda rights before she was shot dead in a fusillade of gunfire by a gang of well-armed police who surrounded her car at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue. The information has not been released, though as I write almost a week has passed since the lethal event. Why could not those crack shots have aimed at her car’s tires. Then they could have waited for her next move. It looks
PRESIDENT OBAMA: I also told [Speaker Boehner] that having such a conversation, talks, negotiations, shouldn´t require hanging the threats of a government shutdown or economic chaos over the heads of the American people. Think about it this way, the American people do not get to demand a ransom for doing their jobs. You don´t get a chance to call your bank and say, ´I´m not going to pay my mortgage this month unless you throw in a new car and an Xbox.´ If you´re in negotiations around buying somebody´s house, you don´t get to say, ´well let´s talk about the
WASHINGTON — It’s long been known that America’s school kids haven’t measured well compared with international peers. Now, there’s a new twist: Adults don’t either. In math, reading and problem-solving using technology – all skills considered critical for global competitiveness and economic strength – American adults scored below the international average on a global test, according to results released Tuesday. Adults in Japan, Canada, Australia, Finland and multiple other countries scored significantly higher than the United States in all three areas on the test. Beyond basic reading and math, respondents were tested on activities such as calculating mileage reimbursement due to a
