Colo. governor delays convicted
killer´s execution

Associated Press, by Dan Elliott

Original Article

Posted By:DaddyO, 5/22/2013 7:48:56 PM

DENVER (AP) — Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper indefinitely delayed the execution of convicted killer Nathan Dunlap on Wednesday and said he was unlikely to allow it as long as he is governor. (snip) On the night of Dec. 14, 1993, he hid in a bathroom until the restaurant closed, then shot and killed Crowell; Ben Grant, 17; Colleen O´Connor, 17; and Margaret Kohlberg, a 50-year-old mother who was on her first day on the job. Each was shot in the head. A co-worker Bobby Stephens, then 20, was also shot in the head, but he survived and testified against Dunlap.

Comments:
More restrictions on guns and keep those on death row from being executed.. yeah, that´s the way to get re-elected.

What a pathetic excuse for leadership.
This will open some very old wounds for the victims of the families, as a terrible injustice has been made possible by Hickenlooper.

OP: Doubtful that Hickenlooper will seek reelection as Governor; word is he´s positioning himself for a plum job in DC. Had he allowed the execution to go on as scheduled (by law, by the way) then he would have been less than welcome at the DC cocktail parties with his fellow leftists.

Sympathy for the guilty is injury to the victim.

Liberals hate people(victims) and LOVE groups(those sentenced to death), and their supporters.
They vote in blocs.

Can´t the Hick think of this as a very late term abortion? Perhaps the governor could ask Dr. Gosnell to perform a last minute civic act. "Nurse, hand Dr. G those big garden clippers."

The victims are long forgotten. What´s important to this progressive governor is the precious life of the killer. Morals, ethics and common sense turned upside down. Colorado, you voted for this cruel man, and his state police bodyguards care little about you.

Good one, poster 2. hickenlooper is an ambitious political snake. He just might have a blue chip federal job lined up. If he doesn´t run, the GOP stands a decent chance to win the Colorado governorship, but it´s a tough fight because Colorado has shifted so far left and the state GOP is feckless.

The governor might have chosen a better legal case if he´s so concerned about "the system" (which, I imagine, he is sworn to uphold). It looks as if the perp is guilty as hell and exceptionally cruel, and that he was tried and sentenced in accordance with the law.

I agree with the posters above that this is cynical and self-serving.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster in England. Ninety-six Liverpool fans died and more than 700 were injured in a human crush in the opening minutes of the 1989 FA Cup Semifinal at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield. Inadequate turnstiles created a bottleneck and a crush of thousands of fans outside the ground on the Liverpool side. Police opened a gate, allowing the fans to enter. Standing room fans were kept in enclosed pens at some stadiums for security purposes. Police did not close the entrance to the already full central pens. Thousands streamed down the central tunnel,

A waitress who stopped to deposit her tips in an ATM in South Portland early Thursday morning wound up saving her bank more than $37,000 – minus the $100 she got back as a reward. The woman called police to report a suspicious man at TD Bank’s ATM on Maine Mall Road. What she didn’t know at the time was that the machine had malfunctioned and was spitting out cash as fast as the man could ask for it. Officers arrived around 5:30 a.m. and found him stuffing thousands of dollars from the machine into a plastic shopping bag, said

Sunday’s announcement that Piers Morgan had lost his show at CNN was hardly unexpected. The ratings for the coveted 9 p.m. time slot were abysmal, dropping last week to just 270,000 viewers — about one-eighth of what Fox News’s Megyn Kelly got in the same time slot. Some, such as Variety magazine, have speculated that the low ratings are due to Morgan’s single-minded push for gun control. That might have something to do with it, but much more is going on. In all the thousands of television and radio interviews that I have done over the years, my appearances on Morgan’s

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
