Leaks turn to deluge
for reeling White House

New York Post, by John Podhoretz

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 5/21/2013 4:49:13 AM

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

What is amazing is that I keep hearing that Obama didn´t know about these scandals and he seems to get a pass on not knowing. Somehow this is supposed to make him innocent of any wrongdoing?

Isn´t he the President of the United States? Shouldn´t he be informed of policies and procedures?

I just don´t buy it.

My brother is a retired AF Colonel and a pilot. He is a flaming lib, and still defends everything about the Obama administration. He will continue to do so until he dies.

I fail to understand the mindset, but Obama and his fellow thieves certainly do.

Okay folks -- the "pollsters" want US to believe these illegal intrusions into the private lives of ordinary citizens doesn´t matter to US...

The approval rating is still at 53% for obama. What a game!! The pollsters have been leaned on by the goooooberment to tell it like it isn´t....so that WE will just give up...

It´s not happening. Bring it on!! An ole Tea Partier ready for action. I survived Hitler -- I can survive obama and valjar....

Clearly Obama is a figurehead and Ppears to be fine playing that role. He knows nothing and evidently is dressed up and sent out with aTelePrompTer to feed him talking points as a frontman. He is like the guy who is a part of the gang but you don´t tell him anything important because you know he will screw it up. Better to keep him ignorant. Wow. Now we know why his college records are kept under lock and key.

Oh, LDotters.
Please do not forget.
The One is the Affirmative Action hire. He does not know how to lead. All he needs to do is read from his teleprompter. Nothing else is required.
He is just another mushroom, being fed what he needs to know when he needs to know it.
Besides, abuse of the IRS is traditional. FDR did it, as did Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and Clinton. So you are attacking tradition.
Besides, it was an issue of national security. Excuse me, I mean NATIONAL SECURITY. Because, don´t you see, the Presidency cannot be entrusted to a rascally Republican, who represents the Moneyed Powers.
Just ignore the fact that Obama is worth more than Romney.
So the leaks will lead to nothing. And Zippy will just keep instituting his Socialist Revolution on us.

Be it ever so bumbled, crumbled, fumbled, jumbled, mumbled, rumbled, stumbled and tumbled but never humbled, there’s no place like the Prevarication Room at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, just down the hall from the more widely known Situation Room. The former is a room without a view. The latter is a room without a clue.

JP gives an outstanding description here of Zippy & Co.´s malfeasance with respect to the F&F leak, and the attack on Rosen. But I don´t think the wheels have come off. I won´t believe that until I see an equivalent of this piece in the NYTimes, the WaPo, the LATimes, and the Chicago Tribune.

As the truth elbows its way to the forefront, it is infuriating that the MSM didn´t get upset about conservative/Republican persecution until their own ox got gored.

The whores, now cleaning themselves up just a bit, covered Obama´s sorry arse until they came under attack themselves.

Still, welcome to the real world, MSM. Your POTUS is a dictator and you are not immune, much as you thought you were. There´s plenty of room under O´s bus and you´re next.

Some of you here are implying he is an incompetent, scholastic moron, and frontman. Au contraire. He´s a brilliant marxist con. He is smarter and way ahead of you. The plan for no fingerprints and no accountability, with no way to get to the bottom of him is freaking
Moriarity brilliant. He is the leading man in the overthrow of the West -- give the devil his due.You take it on faith that Jarrett and others are running the show. No one lies better than he does, polishes off enemies with Holder´s loyalty better, selects chaos czars better, hides his alternate lifestyle and sealed papers better, and chills better than he does. Stop describing incompetence. Your country is not gone because of incompetence and bad luck. It is by design abetted by silence, gutless republican losers, brain seared and lost educators, and the misunderstanding by decent Americans how far this "process" and "judgment" has gone. BTW -- I just read this to my wife who said, "Don´t send this. If you send this they will think of you as a terrorist." I know many of you will not say what you know to be true out of love for your family. I too love my family. And I want my children to have freedom without intimidation. This act of mine feels so anonymous, so French Underground Radio, so last resort. Maybe there is one person reading this, with real evidence, who understands that the powers and principalities we wrestle with can actually win at any time, who will act in a more appropriate and heroic manner than to scribble. God bless that man.

Jay Carney´s explanation yesterday that everyone in the White House knew about the IRS scandal-except the POTUS aka Preezy Potted Plant
is laughable.
Carney´s excuse was that if they told
Obama " he might do something ".
Do something stupid ?
Do something to stop the abuses ?
They tell President Mushroom ( cause he´s always
in the dark ) about Trayvon and the Cambridge cop and they let him play with his basketballs and golf balls every day , but, they apparently
keep the big stuff away from him.
Like Benghazi.
Politico . September 12, 2012-
" The White House said President Obama was notified of the attack in Benghazi Tuesday ( 5pm )
by national security adviser Tom Donilon, but was not told about Ambassador Chris Stevens´ death until Wednesday morning. "
Alfred E Neuman and Mr Magoo have more gravitas than Obama.
I know I am restating the obvious, but, there is something very, very ,very wrong with this Administration.
Many things, in fact.

I do, however, believe the fab. & sit. rooms may be one and the same.

And, speaking of "aiding & abetting," it seems Mother Nature is playing that role in OK, doesn´t it? Tragically, events there have taken over the news, allowing the administration to improve on their lies - at least for a few days.

Prayers for those unfortunate folks and what they have yet to endure.

Obama distances himself from all of this, is even "outraged" (by his own policies), and promises to "fix" it. This keeps him in the 50+% approval bracket with the LoFos, while his policies are below 40% approval. He could give Slick Willie a few lessons.

What you have in this government is a bunch of malevolent minions. The guys at the top are just a bunch of talking (empty) heads. Every department head is a presidential appointee. Some presidents appoint competent people. This one appoints political hacks who know the agenda and are willing to do anything to get it accomplished, even fall on their swords. They know they will never be prosecuted for their crimes because even the Justice department is loaded with fellow travelers.

The bureaucracy will take years to clean out. If we ever manage to get a Conservative elected he or she had better fire every political appointee from this administration.

When Bush was president, the buck always stopped with him. With Obama, it never does.
I can´t help but wonder how much longer Obama can throw others under the bus before there are enough people under the bus to throw the bus back on him.
He really believes he can stab anyone in the back and because the media has always drooled over him, he can get away with it. That won´t last forever... unless those under the bus are rewarded handsomely to keep silent.

As far as the White House collapsing... just remember, no matter how bad Obama gets, he and the media share the same ideology and immoral values. It will have to get pretty bad before the Old Media turns on him and starts treating him as the lying corrupt narcissistic American-capitalist hating Alinskyite he is. So don´t hold your breath.

#14, I agree with you wholeheartedly and commend your courage. The very first thing these new virulent Dems do is to establish their chain of "cut-offs" and plausable deniability scenarios which insulate the people at the top. This was done very adroitly with e.g. F&F and which served as a template. Then establish all the fall-back positions in advance.

Obama is a low-inteeligence guy which is apparent by his lack of spontaneity when he tries to speak without a teleprompter. He is always close to stumbling and stuttering in a search for something to say. His inability to deal with reality has led him into a giant quagmire in which his genuflecting media are finding it difficult to defend him. A significant reason they have to show some resistance is their mission to support and promote the ´Rat party. This now requires making some pseudo-critical remarks, but not so critical as to be damaging to the party, but critical enough in order to fool people into thinking these scandals should not be attributed to the ´Rat party, but only to a few over-zealous patriots in the employ of the government.

All the criminal activity that defines the White House and its thugs is simple gangster activity that has been practised for millennia. It is unsophisticated and really quite simple-minded. They have gotten away with it because there is no one willing to hold them accountable. All this stuff was obvious from the start. There are no surprises. Even the milquetoast public defenders were no surprise. When all the gassbaggery ends it will be SNAFU.

Returning home from service in a war is never easy, and it is all the harder when veterans are maligned as dangerous time bombs. U.S. vets are a sweepingly broad group. It is surely fair to say that on the whole they have displayed a greater proclivity to national service than many of their fellow Americans. But beyond that, generalizations become dicey fast. (Snip)So it is now with the fury generated by a New York Times Op-Ed that was headlined, “Veterans and White Supremacy,” and that was illustrated by a drawing of soldiers saluting in silhouette — except one instead

Hillary Clinton and her friends in the media have been testing messages for her expected presidential campaign. The case for her will be built on four pillars: that allegations of her corruption are unfair; that she is highly accomplished; that she is above partisanship; and that she is a woman. The first three are dubious and the fourth will matter less than you may think. Do you remember Webb Hubbell, the McDougals, the missing Rose Law firm billing records, Travelgate, or Hillary’s surprise acumen at high-risk commodities trading? Super PACs and other groups will remind voters of all of these case

Advice to Democrats: Don´t say ´recovery´

WASHINGTON - Election-year memo to Democratic candidates: Don´t talk about the economic recovery. It´s a political loser. So say Democratic strategists in a blunt declaration that such talk skips over "how much trouble people are in, and doesn´t convince them that policymakers really understand or are even focusing on the problems they continue to face." In addition, Stan Greenberg, James Carville and others wrote that in head-to-head polling tests the mere mention of the word "recovery" is trumped by a Republican assertion that the Obama administration has had six years to get the economy moving and its policies haven´t worked. President Obama has warned that Iran is not open for business, even as the United States has loosened some of its punishing economic sanctions as part of an interim nuclear pact. Yet, on Tuesday morning, Iran had an unlikely visitor: a plane, owned by the Bank of Utah, a community bank in Ogden that has 13 branches throughout the state. Bearing a small American flag on its tail, the aircraft was parked in a highly visible section of Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. Saying they can no longer ignore the rising prices of health care, some of the most influential medical groups in the nation are recommending that doctors weigh the costs, not just the effectiveness of treatments, as they make decisions about patient care. The shift, little noticed outside the medical establishment but already controversial inside it, suggests that doctors are starting to redefine their roles, from being concerned exclusively about individual patients to exerting influence on how health care dollars are spent. “We understand that we doctors should be and are stewards of the larger society as well as of the patient in

Hillary Clinton may end up deciding she wants to spend the 935 days until election 2016 making corporate speeches and spoiling her grandchild. Recent events have exposed weaknesses in Clinton’s supposedly impregnable armor, gaps through which a Democratic or Republican challenger could damage, perhaps even defeat her. The bad headlines to which she has been subjected are enough to make anyone—anyone who isn’t a Clinton—think twice about running for president. Look at the polls. This week’s Fox News poll has Clinton’s favorable rating at its lowest point in six years. She is at 49 percent favorable, 45 percent unfavorable—similar to her

President Barack Obama used his Thursday press conference to diagnose Republicans as fear-mongering, spiteful, obstinate, petulant and obstructive, as he again declared mission-accomplished in his effort to put the nation’s health-care under government control. “I recognize that their party is going through the stages of grief — anger and denial and all that stuff — and we’re not at acceptance yet,” Obama told reporters, where he announced that his Obamacare network had claimed 8 million subscribers. Obama coupled his passive-voice diatribe with his more-in-sorrow-than-anger promise that he “would much prefer a constructive conversation with the Republicans about how do we get some

The captain of a ferry that sank off the coast of South Korea Wednesday, leaving nearly 300 people missing, is under investigation as a possible criminal and was one of the first people to escape the doomed vessel, Coast Guard officials said. Lee Joon-seok, 69, left the ferry on a lifeboat 32 minutes after reporting an accident, officials said. The captain appeared on Korean television today, his face covered by a gray hoodie. “I am really sorry and deeply ashamed,” he said, as he was being questioned at the Mokpo Coast Guard Office. It´s unclear which of his actions could be considered criminal.

Soon after the tea party era began in Congress in 2011, President Obama and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan each released their budgets, proposing how much the government should tax and spend over the rest of the decade. Three years into that budget showdown, Mr. Ryan and his Republican colleagues are winning. Government spending has slowed, and Mr. Obama’s plans for higher taxes and higher spending have fallen by the wayside. “The discretionary spending has in fact been driven by Republicans post-2010 clamping down,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former director of the Congressional Budget Office who is now president of the

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. For Obamacare, What Counts As Success?

Ezra Klein, in his new capacity as one of the impresarios behind Vox, has written a pair of attention-grabbing posts — here, and then here — defending the proposition that Obamacare has, in some sense, “won,” and that conservatives who can’t come to terms with that victory can’t come to terms with reality itself. Reading them, it struck me that this argument would benefit from laying down some specific markers for the near future, because Klein seems to move back and forth between two definitions of success. At times, as when he writes that Obamacare “has won its survival” and

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything.
