Mark Steyn warns of ´serious
secession movements´ if drift

Radio host Dennis Miller and National Review columnist Mark Steyn considered Thursday the possible outcomes if the United States continues down the path of socialism. If socialism became the prevailing governing philosophy, Miller speculated, escaping it wouldn’t require a move to the Australian outback. Instead he suggested heading for the state of Texas, because it would be the first place to push back against it. “If I ever do flee, don’t think fleeing has to involve you going over to Alice Springs or something,” Miller said. “I’m going to Texas because that’ll be the first place that pushes

Welcome to all you new comers. It´s a great state. But you have to learn the language. Y´all is plural. All y´all is collective. Bless your heart may or may not be an insult. Chicken fried steak is the state entree. No beans in chili. (I cheat on this one.) Corn bread not sweet...but we´re willing to discuss it. Boots are a necessity. Buy a pair as soon as you get here. You´ll need them for the Houston Rodeo. Again, welcome.

Yes, somewhere in Texas, if it comes to it, will be the located the next capitol of the United States of America. The Democrat Party and the Obama administration has lowered the District of Columbia into a hellhole similar to Detroit, NOLA, or East St. Louis.

I cannot think of another person I would rather have as a neighbor more than Dennis Miller. Dennis, come to The Woodlands!

As far back as the 70´s I saw "Texas Secede" bumper stickers here in Houston and even Austin. I thought, man that is dumb. Now I am one of the biggest proponents of secession there is. Why fight these idiots in the blue states? Life is too short. They hate us, we hate them back. Divorce is the only answer.

I think we could start with the US Constitution but take out the sixteenth amendment and add an amendment protecting individuals from government forced wealth redistribution. I would also firm up the second amendment to make it clear that the most powerful weapons available should be legal expressly for fighting against a tyrannical government -- this ensures that people would never need them (as I am afraid we are approaching a point where we do now).

As a third-generation Texan, I can say I heartily support our right to secede, and am in fact in favor of it.

I can wish more conservatives would emigrate here, but regrettably liberals aren´t uniformly too stupid to realize moving here is a wise idea.

Certainly even intelligent Texans turn liberal sometimes ... tough to swallow that but there you go ...

Come on folks... we will never secede.

We will resign our membership in the failed union that has called itself the USA, and adopt their Constitution, due to its non-use in the failed USA. Here is my list of changes:
First, Texas would not secede from the USA. We would resign our membership in the failed union, but would probably adopt the US Constitution. It is currently not being used by anyone.

Second, we already have the Texas Rangers that could easily take the FBI´s place, with Chuck Norris as its head.

Third, border patrol... Ted Nugent.

Fourth, We have LOTS of oil. We would not need an income tax. We would put an excise tax on our oil and natural gas exports.

Fifth, we already have a world-wide recognized Flag.

Sixth, "he needed shooting, your honor" would be an acceptable defense against a liberal or an illegal alien.

On Laura Ingraham’s radio show on Thursday, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer railed against President Barack Obama’s foreign policy gestures, specifically his referral Russia as a regional earlier this week. Krauthammer blamed it on the inexperienced advisers the president has surrounded himself with in his second term and his own worldview. “This points to the fact that Obama has surrounded himself in this term, in this kind of second-term arrogance, with midgets,” Krauthammer said. “There is nobody in the high command who had the stature of Bob Gates, for example, or even a Hillary Clinton

A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality.
