Earthquake: Did Carney
Presser End MSM Monolith?

PJ Media, by David Steinberg

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 5/10/2013 8:54:15 PM

The most notable takeaway from Jay Carney’s incomprehensible Friday appearance had little to do with his Klingon grammar. Carney does not represent the historical value of the event – you should be wise to forget his performance, and instead take note that he was flanked by the entire room, without exception. Do not underestimate the significance: the Obama administration has not faced such an onslaught of truth-seeking since he took office in 2008, and further, no Democratic administration has been charged from all sides like this in recent memory. That press conference was unthinkable just days ago

I agree with his final thought. Don´t count on it. The perverted brain twisted to the left syndrome is too deeply set. There is no hope during the lifetime of any current member of this miserable profession.

Could the myopic sycophants in the main lining media finally wake up and see the buck nakedness of corruption? Best of all, realize that the American people (at least those who pay the bills) see this all too clearly and are on to them? We shall see. Something huge and horrible just may happen this weekend to jar our attention.

The libs want Clinton for president too much to not eventually turn on their current main squeeze Obama. At some point, she will have to run against the current occupent of the White House or she can forget about running at all.

The MSM may have had a little tiff with the Administration today, but after the make up sex they will be right back in the loving relationship.

Those who were left out of the private meeting are just upset that they were left out. That is all. Once given their "exclusive secret meeting" they will attack the republicans as being mean again.

Hussein wants Rodham under he bus. There is no love between them. The relationship is self serving in both directions. Where was o while the embassy burned? Ask Reggie.

Carney should be put on trial for treason based on his lies for Barry. This is clearly criminal. Lock him up and throw away the key(then he can be like his boss and find his own Reggie Love in the big house!)

absolutley not. the secret press "deep briefing" proves that it´ll never happen. how any "journalist" could agree to go into that kind of a meeting with everything off the record is beyond me. it is all sickening, outrageous and completely disheartening that this "man," who is america´s president is going to get away with this shite again.

I hope this is not a one off for those in the press room.

The WH had a closed door session with select faux reporters before the Carney show. It makes me wonder if a deal was made. One where the drive-by media can pretend to care to save their image. Two days from now, we won´t read or hear another word about the show.

Let us not forget that Jayboy was himself a particularly smug know-it-all member of the DC press back when Time magazine at least had subscribers.

He will eventually leave this job and go back to punditry as some perverse sort of hero.

The eight years of nonstop incompetence and malfeasance will be merely chuckled about.

Mr. Carney has had a pass as press secretary. Think that Ari Fleischer, Tony Snow, or Dana Perino got the kind of treatment ol´ Jay gets? I don´t know if this was an anomaly but I hope it wasn´t. It is about time Jay understood the concept of being questioned by a objective press corps. The truth will come out soon enough. Either the press corps will man up and do their job or they will revert to bootlicking.

No, liberals don´t change. Next we will see the press attempting to rehabilitate Carney and Obama. They will pick something to criticize The detractors for. They will once again be a happy family.

But they will be able to refer back to yesterday with a "See? We"re not biased!"

SINCE Obama took office? How about "ever", including before he took office. And now it looks like the Pres. of CBS news (who happens to be the brother of a top Obama official) is thinking of firing Sharyl Atkinson, the one reporter at the Tiffany network who has been actually covering the story. Good job CBS!

We teach our children to avoid any person who whispers in their ears, "Lets keep this a secret". It is the mark of some one who is typically up to no good.
Obama´s Off the Record "secret"(private) meeting with press people rings of the same devilish behavior.
What is it that he has to say in secret (private) that he can´t say in public.
It stinks of treachery.

I watched Brian Williams, Andrea Mitchell and F. ´Chuck´ Todd report last night. Williams looked shell shocked, Mitchell was looking like she was reporting the death of her parents and F. Chuck was twitching like someone seizure. His facial twitches were about one every two seconds. I´ve never seen him like that.

Perhaps the noose is tightening.

“Did Carney Presser End MSM Monolith,” you ask? I think not. Wishfully thinking, I hope and pray it did. However, I doubt wishing, hoping and praying will make it so. I pessimistically believe that in the long run, yesterday’s dust-up won’t amount to much. Perhaps a hill of beans but that’s about all. Think the shamestream media are all of a sudden willing to uncircle their wagons? Good luck with that! Dejectedly, I don’t think they are.

This is a good article and a worthy heads´ up view. Yet I know there will be no restoration of the ´´press´´ as Steinberg puts it. That day is long gone, and it little matters for the future. The media was in the tank for He-Clinton, for She-clinton and now for both Obamas and the total Administration. You will be the fool if you believe anything ever again from the mainstream, legacy or whatever term you call the bedwetting, kneepad media.

Oh dear, #6. You are funny AND correct.

The Dallas Morning News is out in my front yard. I cancelled the paper because they do not report the news and rely on the New York Times and the AP. They (as of yesterday) have basically ignored Bengazi. If they have more than a back page paragraph on it today, I will believe the dam has broken. I´m not hopeful.

If the media succeeds in making this only about a coverup the White House will find a staffer like Nuland to take the fall. The real story is the damning testimony of the whistle-blowers. This leads directly to Obama and Clinton.

Maybe even the SEAL Team SIX parents can get a hearing on the murder of their sons with the assistance of Obama and Biden Identifying those who killed Osama.

Now that radical islam can see how far Obie, PIAPS, dims in general, and the msm will go to cover something up, would not surprise me a bit if they were to set Obie up for another one....to the point of getting Obie to start singing zippity do dah out of his backside.

Looks like the naysayers are at it again. Here we finally have a phoenix rising, wings spreading and all some can do is throw stones. In combat would you try to grab your fellow soldier by the belt, pull him back as he charged the enemy and say, "Don´t do it! They´ll beat us to a pulp, besides we´ve never beaten them before and you could be injured!"?

Like Osama Bin Laden told his cronies on 09/11/01-be patient. As long as Sharyl Attkisson wasn´t manipulated in the private meeting, she´ll stay on target and so will others, "believe it or not". Let´s take wagers on when/if NBC will join the reporting. It´s hysterical watching them stand on the sidelines and quite expected at that.

The impact of a truth-seeking LSM will be magnified exponentially because it is totally unexpected.

Carney has the toughest job in the world--defending and parsing Obama´s lies. He does a pretty good job of it, however. It must be a habit with him.

I just discovered this factoid: Jay Carney is married to, Claire Shipman the American TV "journalist" who is the senior national correspondent for the ABC program, Good Morning America.

Talk about incestuousness and biased journalism. You have Carney promulgating White House lies and Shipman backing him up on GMA.

I´d like to ask Carney if he sleeps well at night. He seems like a nice guy totally obsessed with his job and saving face; his own as well as Obama´s. Does he know that what he is being told are lies or does he not know?

Fortunately I was able to see it. All of it that was broadcast on Fox News, and they ran it for a long time. Even Cavuto broke in momentarily to explain why: "this is so unusual" an event.

Carney was so cornered. They were coming at him from all sides, some very unexpected sides, and they did not give up after the first (badly answered) question but came back again and again. They hammered him: Jonathon Karl (ABC), Peter Baker (New York Times), and so forth. They was relentless.

His facial and body contortions became more extreme. He literally looked as though he was turning himself into a pretzel at some points.

It was wonderful to see. I´m so glad I did.

Chris Wallace, of all people, led off his subbing for Bret Baier with "the mainstream media has finally discovered the Benghazi scandal"....

Can they still feel safe trashing political enemies without getting justly reamed by their employers and colleagues?

Of course.

Can they still offer work that hasn’t been bulletproofed and sourced without embarrassment?

That would mean they have some microbe of integrity, honesty and shame so of course they can and will.

Can they wink-wink, nudge-nudge with their friends anymore?

Same village, same idiots so of course.

Heck, do they even know who their friends are anymore?

Each other and they´ll simply do what their idols do, pretend the whole thing didn´t happen and continue to be the vermin they´ve always been.

Is the decades-late media audit, the return of professionalism and honor, finally underway this evening?

Only after the space shuttle safely lands in my driveway, I win the lottery, we actually find the Mother Ship parked at Piggly Wiggly, C.F. Martin sends me the Peacock, we fly a mission to Mars tomorrow in a Volvo and the GOP grows a set. Figure the odds.

Only one person can say ´stand down´ and said it twice so what was the purpose and where was he when this was breaking?
It´s a bad thing when the president looks upon Americans as ´expendable´.

If I read in the newspaper that the Sun will rise in the east, I start looking for a compass. What the MSM says, does, or believes has rightly become irrelevant to any thinking person.

Unfortunately that is probably just fine by Obama - the media is the only force capable of laying a glove on him, and it has been reduced to an object of scorn and derision by its love affair with him, and its unfaithful treachery against us.

It´s time to recruit an army of "Richard Milhous Obama" enactors to follow this guy around on his junkets, just blanket his appearances with the "street politics" of that spectre. Although most under 50 have little/no recall of Watergate, they have been conditioned to think Nixon = Evil. I think even Nixon would approve. Maybe we can find a conservative Cindy Sheehan to camp outside the White House until she gets justice for her dead son. Yeah, it´s all self-serving and tasteless...and it works every time.

Another thought for the "love affair" discussion: Liberals are driven by feelings, as we are driven by logic. A lover is never so jerked into reality as when they find out their partner has lied to them. The break up can be very, very nasty. You don´t know you´ve had enough ´til you´ve had more than enough. The question is" Have 0bama´s lovers (MSM)been scorned one too many times?

It will take ten million angry (real) Americans clogging up Pennsylvania Avenue between the capitol and WH. The MSM isn´t going to hang up the ole knee pads because of the quaint notion of truth.

The civil rights movement could mobilize for their cause. Is preserving constitutional governance somehow less worthy or do we just lack the juice to stand up and be counted?

While I am thrilled they finally behaved like "news" reporters, it irks me that they are now behaving like they should have been all along. It also aggravates me that all you see is ABC breaking the story about the changes in the talking points when Steve Hayes is the one who did so. They should have had more curiosity about this terror attack on 9/11 in Benghazi right after it happened. I know we are supposed to be "thankful" now, but they have been so horrific in actually fulfilling their duties as required by the Constitution I am not extremely impressed about their sudden interest in Benghazi. "The Virginia Declaration of Rights (1776) proclaimed that "the freedom of the press is one of the greatest bulwarks of liberty and can never be restrained but by despotic governments." They sure have been sorely lacking haven´t they.

What is this really all about?

1. The Obama administration has a "see-no-terrorism therefore no-terrorism-exists" way of thinking and that led to their way of doing things.

2. Obama needed to look tough, so he took credit when our military took out OBL--more credt than a commander in chief normally would. He did it in such a way that, were the mission to have gone south, nothing would splash on him.

3. The State Department followed the Obama doctrine of "see-no-terrorism" and did not adequately secure the Benghazi consulate. Doing so would go against "Arab Spring." It would suggest not everything is so hunky-dory.

4. Then things went WAY south. And the administration didn´t respond properly (to put it mildly!). The consulate was under attack and Obama/Clinton did NOTHING.

5. Obama/Clinton needed cover, so they blamed an obscure video and covered up the facts of what really happened. This kept things from blowing up the campaign.

6. Romney was not tough on Obama for fear of backlash, I believe.

What I don´t get is this: Why didn´t Obama/Clinton just send the military in to intervene? Make a show of things, even if the outcome were no different--they would have looked better. But perhaps they were fearful of looking Carter-esque.

Perhaps they really just didn´t care and were too busy to care and thought they´d get lucky--again. The LSM wouldn´t portray them in bad light, would they?

I don´t believe the monolith is going anywhere. Somehow, someway, this will all get put "into perspective" and finessed into oblivion and in a month or less, the LSM will have moved on to something else involving conservatives.

I also think the elite Republican toffs will aid in stopping this because of the issues of comity they believe it will cause. They will be accused of being partisan and most likely racist or something by pursuing, or even just mentioning it and the their advisers will warn this will look bad or something.

The LSM will circle the proverbial wagons and protect Obama at all costs. It´s too gut wrenching for these partisans not to.

Naw, Obama is going to skate over this with barely a scratch, watch.

Benghazi is just sitting there waiting for
some ( non FOX ) reporter to explore it and make his career.
As Woodward and Bernstein did.
A Pulitzer surely awaits the journalist
who finally decides , as FOX has been doing since it happened ,
to seriously investigate
this horrific scandal instead of continuing to
protect Obama and that weasel Jay Carney.
That´s the decision they have to make
and maybe one of them will.
Do they ignore the ripening stench of Benghazi
or do they continue to cover for Obama ?
Once one of them decides to break away and become a serious journalist , it may start a stampede.
One thing is certain , FOX News has been the only news outlet to seriously and professionally investigate
this burgeoning scandal.

Isn´t an "off the Record" press conference an oxymoron? Or doesn´t the moron MSM understand this? To go with the scorned lover metaphor, the long-time girlfriend MSM to Obie´s cheatin heart has just been told, "it´s going to get worse before it gets better." The mainstream media are to the President what the Catholic media are to the Pope. Members of the same flock, dedicated to the same goals, preconditioned to admire whichever Democrat is in the White House. It is unthinkable that they should stray far or long from the reservation. They are as dependably pro-Party as Pravda or Tass ever were.

In incestuous Washington, how does one separate the Boyz on the Bus (reporters)
from the liberoids they are supposed to cover... ?

Answer...
With a crowbar...

It takes a while for a major scandal with complex details to "burgeon."
Especially when the press is in bed with a liberoid black DimWit president...
and a liberoid former Secretary of Fake...

Took quite a while to bring Joe Paterno down at State Penn U. He was an icon there.
Took 26 months to bring down Nixon, despite how much liberoids despised him.

We are just getting started on Benghazi.
Now that the press realizes this is major, and that other reporters might beat them,
the competition to get the biggest, most damaging details could become fierce.

We can only hope so...

J. Carney is the most patently, unbelievable clown on T.V. He is the new Baghdad Bob of the LSM.

You just have to know he is lying, and does not believe the drivel he is parroting. Particularly, as he stands there doing an adult version of a 5 year old´s pee-pee dance; while his beady eyes dart about the room, looking for the closest exit to ease his bladder discomfort.

Long-term unemployed struggle
to find — and keep — jobs
Washington Post, by Ylan Q. Mui    Original Article

For the long-term unemployed, finding a job is hard — but keeping one may be even harder. New research tracking people who have been out of work for six months or longer found that 23 percent of them landed a job within a few months of the study. But a year later, more than a third of that group was unemployed again or out of the labor force altogether. The findings are the latest in a bleak but growing body of literature suggesting long-term unemployment has become a trap that is difficult to escape. Economists say that means the long-term unemployed could become a permanent underclass, left behind by the nation’s broader

Social Security stops trying

The Social Security Administration announced Monday that it will immediately cease efforts to collect on taxpayers’ debts to the government that are more than 10 years old. The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

Despite promises to the contrary, it appears that State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) voted on bills that affect her clients and favorably impact the bottom line of her law firm. “I have never done anything in a way that represents a conflict in my voting and something that would benefit me personally,” she said in an interview, but state records seem to tell a different story. The Dallas Morning News´ Senior Political Writer Wayne Slater (DMN) reported that Davis supported legislation governing a toll road project. That would be all well and good except for the fact that the

Democrats Lose Two More Special

Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. But last Tuesday, Democrats lost their first election for the five-member Arlington County Board in 15 years when John Vihstadt, a Republican running as an independent, won a vacancy on

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. In promoting legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, increase the minimum wage and promote equal pay for women, the Democrats have declared themselves the party that will ensure a “fair shot” for all. Republicans, they insist, are the party of special interests. It has been a classic Washington messaging campaign for these partisan

Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. Legislatures are in a far better position than judges to assess the

The Obama administration said Friday that it would block Iran’s nominee as ambassador to the United Nations from entering the United States, setting up a new confrontation with Tehran just as relations with the Islamic republic appeared to be improving. The decision to bar entry to the diplomat, who was allegedly involved in the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, followed intense political pressure on the administration from Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill. But it also marked a rare instance in which Washington has effectively vetoed another country’s preferred choice as envoy to the United Nations. Iran

Struggling homeowners across the country could face significant new tax bills if they receive mortgage relief from their banks, a prospect that threatens to slow the housing recovery and put further strain on distressed borrowers. The collapse of the housing market and plunging home prices left millions of people stuck owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth. Some have worked with their banks to reduce the loan amount to avoid foreclosure or enable a sale. In 2007, Congress adopted a law that spared those homeowners from being taxed on the amount of the loan that was forgiven. But

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
