NBC: White House Regrets
Publicly Setting Syrian Red Line

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Original Article

NBC chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd reported this morning that the White House regrets publicly setting a red line with regard to Syrian use of chemical weapons: [Video] "I can tell you there is regret about that red line comment," said Todd, "because if you --" Host David Gregory interrupted, "In the White House?" "In the White House in this respect," Todd continued. "You don´t draw--I mean, they meant it. They do mean it on the chemical weapons. But saying it creates this political conversation. They didn´t want to go public last week

Now, now. Obama personally called Assad today and told him that his (Assad´s) mother was a hamster and his father smelt of elderberry, then proceeded to threaten to send chemical weapons of his own out of his butt in his general direction if he didn´t stop using chemical weapons.

Syria and North Korea know Obama is full of crap and will not do anything to them for using nukes, chemicals or anything else they want to use against anyone they want to attack. They can attack the US and all that will happen is Hillary and Kerry will send harsh letters threatening severe diplomatic sanctions by the UN and that´s it.

The main stream media´s response: This apparent flip flop is an evolution of thought by our esteemed and incomparably wise young President. He is not some intellectually stunted tough talking cowboy. His decisions are nuanced and thoughtful. He is a man particularly suited for these dangerous times.

In other words, something that would put any other President on the proverbial political hot seat, will be massaged into foreign policy brilliance.

Pondering if Mr. Obama ever did his own dirty work in his entire life can be a lifelong pursuit.

With this latest "not present" vote, POTUS has successfully embarrassed his entire Party, his family, liberals everywhere and America around the globe. But then, foreigners are wiser than liberal Americans: At least the former know what Obama really is. The latter are only now regretfully waking up from their own votes.

READ an article of November 6, 2012 written in the Canadian Free Press by Doug Hagmann:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50824

In addition to arming the anti-Assad rebels with conventional weapons, there was a concurrent plan that would have been the icing on the cake, so to speak. An event that would have put the objective on a fast track to completion.

Imagine the outcry from the civilized world that wakes up one morning to the news that Assad had “gassed” his own people. Except it would be a false flag event that would set-up Assad. That would be an invitation to NATO and the West to intervene, using the same or a similar template we have seen Mr. Obama use. Again, the game clock was running out on Mr. Obama and his handlers, and there is no guarantee that he will see another term to get the job done. Such an event would usher in the forces of NATO and expedite plans.

Liberals believe Obama just reassessed the situation and they applaud him for it. They will be the only ones who see it that way. Unfortunately what Obama will get is another test. He will be prodded and poked until he responds. Nature abhors a vacuum. Let´s not forget that Russia and Iran are propping up Assad.

The term community organizer has always chafed my sitting mechanism, and the faux fact that participation in such action is the only qualifier for residency in the White House, is akin to attempting to alleviate said chafing with turpentine.

The kindest, and most accurate, (MHO) reference I could ever attribute to "The Won" was community agitator, and not a particularly good one at that.

It now seems he was not even deserving of that consideration. The won has wilted into a wimp!

The old adage about "it all coming out in the wash" was contingent on the agitator agitating, and his doesn´t - probably never did!

We have a family member who is a lazy , no good bum

It´s a futile point, but, if we had a competent and honorable media , the American people
would have been made aware of Obama´s pathological laziness.

Yeah, that´s why you don´t hijack a routine presser in August to talk tough about your "red line" so that people will think you´re tough on terror and vote for you. It would be better to have a well-thought out plan (say, 3-4 steps ahead) than to get in front of the microphone and pop off. That was, as my dad used to say, "letting your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird a**). It might work bullying Chicago peeps, but the Syrians and others are not fooled. They know he´s weak.

I never believe anything he says. Obama is such a feckless, arrogant twit. Anything coming out of his head or mouth is just more drivel and not to be believed nor counted upon.

Remember when Reagan actually fired the air traffic controllers after he threatened to - and they didn´t believe him? That was one of the more significant decisions Reagan ever made. The rest of the world - friends and foes alike - learned then that when Reagan said he would do something - he would. Don´t think any international leaders ever doubted his word or promises again. (This decision of his was historical, indeed).

The lawyer who claims that “when an IRS audit found that the tax collection agency had been targeting conservative political groups,” it was her “decision not to tell the president about the findings, in an attempt to shield Obama from charges he interfered in the investigation” is being replaced with a lawyer who is a veteran of the scandals in the Clinton White House, including Whitewater, and who represented him in the Monica Lewinsky investigation. Maryland´s Attorney General Douglas Gansler accused his opponent, Iraqi war vet and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, of not being capable of a ´real job´. Gansler and Brown are both fighting over the democrat nomination for Governor in Maryland, so this is a case of democrat on democrat violence. Gansler was speaking at a Tech Council of Maryland event when he unloaded the following comments about Brown: "I´m running against somebody who has never managed anybody, never run anything, his ads are about how he’s a lawyer in Iraq, and that’s all fine and good but this is a real job."

Lyndhurst, Ohio -Christina Lunka appeared nervous and excited as she sat in the Chinese herbal therapy center recently opened by the Cleveland Clinic. The 49-year-old had been to many doctors seeking help for ongoing issues that included joint pain and digestive problems. Now the Kirtland, Ohio, resident was hoping to find relief through herbal remedies. "Do you have something for inflammation?" Ms. Lunka asked herbalist Galina Roofener during a one-hour consultation. "Absolutely," responded Ms. Roofener. "This is for pain, for digestion, for inflammation, all of the above," she said, handing Ms. Lunka a bottle with capsules of an herbal combination called

First lady Michelle Obama told “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” co-hosts Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa that Sundays for the first family have become more about napping, downtime and family time than about church or godly worship. She made the comments in response to a question from the co-hosts during the Easter Egg Roll at the White House, when they asked for a description of a typical Obama family Sunday, Breitbart reported. Mrs. Obama said: “We try to go to church as much as possible, but when the kids get older, you know, Sunday is some kind of practice, rehearsal, birthday

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is criticizing the Bureau of Land Management for apparently euthanizing an unknown number of cattle at the Bundy Ranch. “These animals shouldn´t be killed either by the government, or by the rancher who plans to send the cows off to slaughter. The best thing anyone can do to stop the suffering of animals is to go vegan,” PETA´s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a written statement to Breitbart News. The Bundy Ranch Facebook Page, run by Cliven Bundy’s daughter Bailey Bundy Logue, posted photos on Saturday night of a mass

Portland, Ore., is a nice place to live. Nothing much happens there, and that’s its charm. Oregon is perhaps the most politically correct of the 50 states, shading even Massachusetts, and Reservoir 5 of the Portland water system is a monument to the work of the weenie bureaucrat. Portland is so straight-laced, in fact, that the daily newspaper refuses to identify the Washington Redskins as the Redskins, lest it offend the native redskins. Newspapers elsewhere, with no sensitivity, report bad news as well as the good — fires, floods, riots and even wars. Sensitivity reigns unchallenged on the banks of

The Garden State has the country´s highest percentage of foreclosures among mortgaged homes -- and that´s just the beginning. Early this year, banking and real-estate analysts concluded that New Jersey had achieved a dubious distinction, passing Florida to become the state with the highest percentage of foreclosure among mortgaged homes, 6.2 percent as calculated by CoreLogic, a leader in real-estate analytics. (That percentage was actually an improvement from a year earlier.) Meanwhile, Florida’s rate dropped to 6 percent from 10.1 percent in 2012, and housing markets around the country are recovering far faster from the Great Recession. New Jersey also

"It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. The best feast ever? A Florida fisherman caught a record-setting 805-pound shark earlier this month, and then celebrated by barbecuing the 11-foot mako and devouring it with friends. "It was really good," Joey Polk told the Daily News on Monday. "It´s not real fishy. It does not have a real gamy, fishy taste." Polk caught the mako off the Florida Panhandle with the help of two cousins. The feat is recognized by the International Land-Based Shark Fishing Association as the largest mako catch ever, he said. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by
