NBC: White House Regrets
Publicly Setting Syrian Red Line

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Original Article

NBC chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd reported this morning that the White House regrets publicly setting a red line with regard to Syrian use of chemical weapons: [Video] "I can tell you there is regret about that red line comment," said Todd, "because if you --" Host David Gregory interrupted, "In the White House?" "In the White House in this respect," Todd continued. "You don´t draw--I mean, they meant it. They do mean it on the chemical weapons. But saying it creates this political conversation. They didn´t want to go public last week

Now, now. Obama personally called Assad today and told him that his (Assad´s) mother was a hamster and his father smelt of elderberry, then proceeded to threaten to send chemical weapons of his own out of his butt in his general direction if he didn´t stop using chemical weapons.

Syria and North Korea know Obama is full of crap and will not do anything to them for using nukes, chemicals or anything else they want to use against anyone they want to attack. They can attack the US and all that will happen is Hillary and Kerry will send harsh letters threatening severe diplomatic sanctions by the UN and that´s it.

The main stream media´s response: This apparent flip flop is an evolution of thought by our esteemed and incomparably wise young President. He is not some intellectually stunted tough talking cowboy. His decisions are nuanced and thoughtful. He is a man particularly suited for these dangerous times.

In other words, something that would put any other President on the proverbial political hot seat, will be massaged into foreign policy brilliance.

Pondering if Mr. Obama ever did his own dirty work in his entire life can be a lifelong pursuit.

With this latest "not present" vote, POTUS has successfully embarrassed his entire Party, his family, liberals everywhere and America around the globe. But then, foreigners are wiser than liberal Americans: At least the former know what Obama really is. The latter are only now regretfully waking up from their own votes.

READ an article of November 6, 2012 written in the Canadian Free Press by Doug Hagmann:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50824

In addition to arming the anti-Assad rebels with conventional weapons, there was a concurrent plan that would have been the icing on the cake, so to speak. An event that would have put the objective on a fast track to completion.

Imagine the outcry from the civilized world that wakes up one morning to the news that Assad had “gassed” his own people. Except it would be a false flag event that would set-up Assad. That would be an invitation to NATO and the West to intervene, using the same or a similar template we have seen Mr. Obama use. Again, the game clock was running out on Mr. Obama and his handlers, and there is no guarantee that he will see another term to get the job done. Such an event would usher in the forces of NATO and expedite plans.

Liberals believe Obama just reassessed the situation and they applaud him for it. They will be the only ones who see it that way. Unfortunately what Obama will get is another test. He will be prodded and poked until he responds. Nature abhors a vacuum. Let´s not forget that Russia and Iran are propping up Assad.

The term community organizer has always chafed my sitting mechanism, and the faux fact that participation in such action is the only qualifier for residency in the White House, is akin to attempting to alleviate said chafing with turpentine.

The kindest, and most accurate, (MHO) reference I could ever attribute to "The Won" was community agitator, and not a particularly good one at that.

It now seems he was not even deserving of that consideration. The won has wilted into a wimp!

The old adage about "it all coming out in the wash" was contingent on the agitator agitating, and his doesn´t - probably never did!

All this talk of WMD is such an unnecessary distraction

We have a family member who is a lazy , no good bum

No one..no one ..has as much free time as Obama.
It´s a futile point, but, if we had a competent and honorable media , the American people
would have been made aware of Obama´s pathological laziness.
His daily , non work, all play schedule is absolute dereliction of duty.

Yeah, that´s why you don´t hijack a routine presser in August to talk tough about your "red line" so that people will think you´re tough on terror and vote for you. It would be better to have a well-thought out plan (say, 3-4 steps ahead) than to get in front of the microphone and pop off. That was, as my dad used to say, "letting your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird a**). It might work bullying Chicago peeps, but the Syrians and others are not fooled. They know he´s weak.

I never believe anything he says. Obama is such a feckless, arrogant twit. Anything coming out of his head or mouth is just more drivel and not to be believed nor counted upon.

Remember when Reagan actually fired the air traffic controllers after he threatened to - and they didn´t believe him? That was one of the more significant decisions Reagan ever made. The rest of the world - friends and foes alike - learned then that when Reagan said he would do something - he would. Don´t think any international leaders ever doubted his word or promises again. (This decision of his was historical, indeed).

A man was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in a Friday shooting that left a 40-year-old man in the Brainerd neighborhood with six gunshot wounds. Deontae C. Jones, 18, was held on $1 million bail after appearing in Cook County bond court Sunday afternoon. Prosecutors said Jones approached a man who was outside his residence on the 9300 block of S. May St., checking to see if his recycling bin was full when Jones approached the man and fired at him. The victim began running away and fell to the ground, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Naheda

The first family attended Easter services Sunday at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, a Northwest Washington congregation that welcomed the Obamas on the eve of the president’s first inauguration. The Obamas’ motorcade left the White House shortly before 10 a.m. (Snip) The motorcade pulled up to the church, about four miles away, just after 10. The first family arrived through a tented entrance and sat in the second pew in a mostly, but not completely filled church, joining an estimated 250 others. The president wore a light khaki suit. The premature presidential polls have started rolling out and are consistent: The race for the White House is as much a fantasy as “Game of Thrones” — filled with as many off-the-mark, off-their-rocker relatives and pretender-contenders to the throne as any “Song of Ice and Fire": REPUBLICANS -Jeb Bush, Son of George the First, brother of George the Second -The Good: Last-name recognition - The Bad: Last-name recognition: Brother Bush’s illegal war and the collapse of the economy. The Ugly: The father, the son and the holy “Good God! — not them again!” The Advice: Get out and go find

WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. They sometimes grin and give it a thumbs up as it growls by, and one girlfriend fondly refers to it as “the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Goddess car.” But the icon evokes a special feeling in men. It’s the Proustian madeleine of cars, stirring old dreams and new. Guys sometimes follow in the American beauty’s

California Unemployment Holds

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. The field of finance

On Easter weekend, Diogo Morgado portraying Jesus Christ is on screens everywhere. Morgado is the star of Son of God, by executive producers Mark Burnett and wife Roma Downey, which continues to thrive in theaters, pulling in $59 million since its debut Feb. 28. Downey believes there will be a "spike" in attendance at theaters this weekend because of the spiritual holiday for a film that has already proved a box-office force. "People are in that head-space and in that heart-space. It´s that time of the year where people are much more reflective and much more open to connecting with

SCARBOROUGH, Maine- John C. Houbolt, an engineer whose contributions to the U.S. space program were vital to NASA´s successful moon landing in 1969, has died. He was 95. Houbolt died Tuesday at a nursing home in Scarborough, Maine, of complications from Parkinson´s disease, his son-in-law Tucker Withington, of Plymouth, Mass., confirmed Saturday. As NASA describes on its website, while under pressure during the U.S.-Soviet space race, Houbolt was the catalyst in securing U.S. commitment to the science and engineering theory that eventually carried the Apollo crew to the moon and back safely. His efforts in the early 1960s are largely

Democrats have a problem and everyone knows it. President Obama calls it a “congenital disease.” If they can’t control it, Obama could spend the final years of his presidency battling not only a Republican House but also a Republican Senate. Democrats don’t vote in midterm elections. That’s an exaggeration, of course, but the core of the Democratic coalition is made up of many people who turn out to vote only in presidential elections. The Republican coalition — older and whiter — suffers less from midterm falloff. So much has been made of the building blocks the president assembled to win his

Once the province of activists and stoners, the traditional pot holiday of April 20 has gone mainstream in the first state in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana. Tens of thousands gathered for a weekend of Colorado cannabis-themed festivals and entertainment, from a marijuana industry expo called the Cannabis Cup at a trade center north of downtown, to 4/20-themed concerts at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater — acts include Slightly Stoopid and Snoop Dog — to a massive festival in the shadow of the state capitol where clouds of cannabis smoke are expected to waft at 4:20 p.m. MDT Sunday.

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like
