Rep. Trey Gowdy: ‘Explosive’
Benghazi hearings ‘coming quickly’

Washington Times [DC], by Jessica Chasmar

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 4/28/2013 8:42:12 PM

Rep. Trey Gowdy, appearing on Fox News on Saturday afternoon, promised that “explosive” congressional hearings over the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, are “coming quickly.” “There are more Benghazi hearings coming; I think they’re going to be explosive,” Mr. Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican who is a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told Fox’s Uma Pemmaraju. Mr. Gowdy wasn’t able to give out too many details, but he hinted that the public for the first time might hear from witnesses to the terror attack

I like Mr. Gowdy but I´ll believe it when I see it. And even if there are explosions I doubt the msm and most Americans will care.

Thanks for caring Trey, but nothing will come of it. I doubt you could find 1 in 10 people who have heard of Benghazi. Most could not even name their own congressperson.

Wow! Now that´s explosive!

These ´explosive´ hearings should have occurred Oct 11 last year, not May 11 or whatever this year. Agree that 90% of Obama voters haven´t a clue what this is even about.

When the criminals run the Department of Justice, it´s very hard to prosecute them.

The president and entire Obama regime use the trappings and powers of the office and departments reporting to the executive branch to advance their ideology, laws be damned.

And half the population and most of the press are just fine with that. *sigh*

Be prepared - if it emerges that Obama was intentionally negligent or worse during Benghazi, and that he acted (or refused to act) because of his chance of reelection - this will be viewed as a net positive by Democrats. They only care about keeping King Barack enthroned, so any wrongdoing he may have engaged in that helped him retain power will be applauded, not criticized, and certainly not punished. They have already given His Majesty the thumbs up for lying about the YouTube video, so - be prepared.

I like Mr. Gowdy. but whenever I hear talk like this from a Republican, I wince because the explosive testimony never materializes. McCain will call him a "wacko bird". The media will call the whole thing old news and we need to move along to important matters. The crazies on the left will call him a racist. I am now so jaded that I think nothing will ever touch our anti-American boy king. Please, please, please, prove me wrong. No one deserves examination more than this administration. They need to be held accountable for the deaths of these four Americans.

It´s so sad the state of the nation now. One poster after another just shrugs and says, "what difference, at this point, does it make." And they are right. Good look Mr. Gowdy. I wish you well. But it won´t matter. How horrible to be born in a time when we had to watch the great American experiment die.

Trey Gowdy is a former prosecutor, and while he is somewhat prone to hyperbole, he wouldn´t say this if he didn´t already know the facts.

I´m just hoping for a public hearing at this point, and that ´coming quickly´ really does mean SOON, like this week. The more time that passes with his words hanging out there, the more likely the hearings can be thwarted in some way....

Keep your witnesses secure, Mr. Gowdy. And yourself as well.

I just hope this time the Republicans can coordinate their questions so they make sense when asked and answered. We all the know the Dems will do what they can to obfuscate the testimony.

I have watched too many of these highly promoted hearings only to be disappointed when each prancing prince talks and talks and talks and finally blurts a question that makes little sense. I don´t hold out a lot of hope for this.

I am not optimistic that anything will come of this. The Hildabeest will come up with the "I have no specific recollection..." line of bullsqueeze, and there is 50% of the country that won´t listen to anything negative about our Dear [or Ear] Leader.

Or else, someone in the DNC will photoshop Representative Gowdy checking into a Charleston Motel 6 with a pair of underage llamas.

Obama answers to no one. He considers the US Constitution an outdated joke. With all the cheerleading forces in his corner, he is untouchable. Our citizens are morally bankrupt. The only thing they are concerned with, is when their next entitlement check will arrive. We have gone off the cliff. Only God can help us now.

I have a little more faith in Trey Gowdy than some of you, but can certainly understand why folks are suspect. Im hoping they learned from the lack luster grilling of Hildebeast before and that now they are armed with more information to nail not only her but the WH.

If not, what should they do.. just let it go, and give up? We owe it to those 4 men and all the others who are still wondering if they would be left behind if the same thing happened again.

Exactly #36: Optimism should be tempered with a little realism from time to time but not to this degree here in these posts. It´s about time the DC types who claim to be on our side show a tireless, never give up demeanor, just like the socialists. We must NOT give up! Never!

This is a blaring, blatant aspect of Obama not protecting Americans(uh, oath of office?). History will show it was the first deaths of Americans on foreign soil in the name of Islam/sacrifice under this administration. Now that Americans have shown we´ll tolerate multiple deaths under Obama´s watch, as evidenced by the Benghazi apathy, the Islamo-Communists have copied that aspect to America as in the Boston Marathon bombings. See the pattern?

I like Trey Gowdy as well. But I agree with Rush that it won’t be something real like this but something inconsequential that will shock the lo-info voters (and the state-run media) into awareness.

Someone on this board once said: the only one who can get the right message to the various dem minorities, will be a member of that minority. And the only way the lo-infos will finally wake up will be the revelation of some stupid cultural slipup by the celebrity preezie.

Unless the explosion happens 3 months before 2016 election, there will be zero effect. Americans have the attention span of gnats. Already Benghazi if off the radar screen issues that poll as important. And Bambi is back to 50% approval on Rasmussen.
We are so outnumbered.

We all have a right to our disappointments & our hopes but I´d be cautious of voicing those negative thougts remembering that what is bound on earth is bound in Heaven.

By all means let´s just trust the truth to come out & let God handle the consequences while we exercise patience. Somehow I don´t think He´s anxious to bring about something that will tempt His followers to sink to justified yet unkind gloating.

Obama, the regime and the press successfully suppressed Benghazi long enough to get re-elected.

At the end of any hearings, Obama will still squat in the White House. And.....I expect that if there are any casualties, it might be Hillary.

He’s not “unknown”, and he didn’t just pop up on the horizon. The alleged killer of three at the Overland Park (Kansas) Jewish Community Center and a nearby Jewish retirement home didn’t just “appear out of nowhere”; he’s a man who has been in the public eye before, right here in the Kansas City area and elsewhere, along with his foaming-at-the-mouth anti-Jewish and white supremacist views. The suspect, identified as Frazier Glenn Cross of Aurora, Missouri, is also known as Frazier Glenn Miller or simply Glenn Miller. As Glenn Miller, he ran for the U.S. Senate from Missouri in 2010.

Bill Clinton is cheating — on his vegan diet. Clinton’s doctor let the secret out in New York Times that sometimes the former president cheats on his healthy diet. But two of the nation’s leading vegan and vegetarian organizations say they’re willing to give Clinton a pass since he is mostly adhering to the tenants of the diet. Why does Clinton continue to call himself a vegan? “There is some latitude … he is primarily a vegan,” said Len Torine, Executive Director of the American Vegetarian Association. “Whatever amount of vegan you are, I support it. I support him. He’s

Russia has asked the United States to use its influence to prevent bloodshed in eastern Ukraine, as Kiev threatened a "large-scale anti-terrorist operation" to remove separatists from government buildings. Russian President Vladimir Putin made the appeal during a phone conversation with US President Barack Obama, in which the Kremlin said the two leaders discussed the escalating unrest. The Kremlin said the Russian president also rejected Western claims that Moscow is behind attacks on government buildings, saying they were "based on unfounded information." Earlier Mr Putin´s spokesman said Russia had received several

While the Supreme Court considers one challenge to a provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a federal appeals court located just blocks away is contemplating a separate challenge that could have much more dire consequences for the future of the law. “What you’re asking for is to destroy the individual mandate, which guts the statute,” Judge Harry T. Edwards of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia said to an attorney representing the challengers during a hearing on March 25. The case — Halbig vs. Sebelius — was heard by Edwards and two other judges and

(Video) On Monday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, network senior political analyst Brit Hume dismissed the idea that Republicans wouldn’t have the stomach to repeal ObamaCare. “In a town never short of silly arguments, one of the silliest is the debate over Republicans will ever be able or even willing to repeal ObamaCare,” he said. “The truth is when and if the GOP is in a position to work its will on health care, the question of repeal versus replace will be little more than a parliamentary detail. That is to say that a massive revision of the

Arab American Institute President and Democrat strategist James Zogby has a warning for the Democrat Party. He feels his party is losing the vote of Americans of European and Mediterranean descent – and they´d better get it back. Zogby is especially worried about losing ground in the important states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania – all states with a large contingent of voters with "European/Mediterranean" lineage. He thinks that these states could help Democrats with the close margin we have seen for years in American election results but only if Democrats don´t ignore these voters. In his op-ed, Zogby

New figures by the Congressional Budget Office released on Monday reveal that over the next 10 years the U.S. debt-to-GDP ratio will double to 78%. Over the last four decades America´s average debt-to-GDP ratio was 39%. At the end of 2007, federal debt was just 35% of GDP. The CBO report says gross federal debt will soar from $17.7 trillion to $27 trillion over the next ten years. CBO warned of the dire consequences the nation´s debt will have if gone unchecked. "Such high and rising debt would have serious negative consequences," says the report. "Federal spending on interest payments

A well-loved Maryland supermarket is being forced to limit the amount of full time workers they hire because of the harsh mandates imposed by Obamacare. Snider’s Superfoods, family owned and operated since 1946, says that they will not be hiring any new baggers or cashiers in order to avoid the 50 worker threshold, which under the new Obamacare stipulations, would require that they provide health insurance if they employ 50 or more full time workers. Kevin Kuhlman, Manager of Legislative Affairs at the National Federation of Independent Businesses, explained employers’ financially motivated decision not to hire more workers to avoid the

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so

They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
