REP. KEITH ELLISON (D-MINN.): Well, you know, it is too early for me to second-guess the FBI. I think we need to know more about what they knew. The fact of the matter is that it is good that they contacted him. That wasn´t enough to deter him, obviously. But the fact is that before I’m going to say the FBI should have done something different, what I, I’m not prepared to say that yet. There is just not enough information. What I will say is this: We don´t know what their motivation was yet.
Comments: This infuriates me that these traitors are unwilling to speak the truth about the danger to our country. It is so frightening that we know they cannot and will not protect us as they took the Oath of Office to do. That would also include Barack Hussein 0bama. I´ve never been so concerned about the USA.
No one is going after "a whole Religious Group", this country never has. We should however be going after the Muslim extremists who are trying to kill us and making certain that people of all religions and ethnicities obey the law of the land!
I reject this notion that this country needs to be rebuked for crimes that Mr. Ellison perceives that we might commit. Real crimes have been committed, they are being committed and real people are being hurt. Mr. Ellison needs to answer them.
If my guns are a threat to public safety, then perhaps other things might be a threat as well.
I think the answer to #4´s question is ´´stupid enough to re-elect them for four more years of destroying our country´´...

This brings to mind the billboards of President George W. Bush with the caption, "Miss me yet?"
How did America win WWI and WWII? -- by "casting a wide net." Drudgereport has a list of bomb threats up right now, which includes the removal of a pipe bomb from the roof of a school. America is teeming with radical Muslims who would take pride in doing what the daft brothers did in Boston.
How does the liberal left respond? They propose legislation to "pardon" millions upon millions of illegal aliens as well as legislation to "control" gun and ammunition purchases so that we cannot defend ourselves against the enemy within our borders.
A farmer which I know, had a storage bin of shelled corn. Unbeknown to him, It had a hole in it, and the mice got in.
Suddenly, it all became unsalable(for food).
The Muslims are just like this corn. You can´t separate out the good from the bad.
We, Canada, Sweden, The Netherlands, the US, GB, Russia and others must rid ourselves of this plague. Somewhere, within the next 15 or 20 years, an Inquisition will again happen, and the Muslims will be driven out or killed.
This is a forcast of what may well happen, if the Muslims don´t change their attitude to the rest of the world.
I echo OP and #1´s comments. Funniest thing, one of the first things that crossed my mind was about how Congress would look at the situation. When it was known that these brothers were Muslims, I said to myself that Keith Ellison will have some lame excuse for those boys.
Why do we not hear any outrage from Rep. Ellison and other Congress critters when Christian churches in Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries are burned and Christians are persecuted in those countries?
As such, to protect our country (I no longer care about CN, MX and EU) and I have family members in each location.
We need to go Truman and isolate our own nation. Deport any and all arabic, islam foreigners ASAP. While it may cause probs with the amendments, I do not give a flying bleep. Let the SC figure it out 9 years from now.
Get these people out of our country. I do not know why they are even here if they hate our way of life so much to destroy it. Go back to your rat hole and destroy that. Apparently that is what you want to achieve by destroying the US.
PC, Arabs, muslims, white guilt and our Muslim government is destroying our country and not one represntative from our Congress is sayin anything.
And we all know why...BO is part black and we cannot criticise him for any thing because if we do....we are all racist.
BO could drop a nuclear bomb on the US and no one or nobody would say a thing...why because he is "Black".
Wait until Hill wins the election for Pres. same default because she is a woman.
No one touched her on Benghazi, where people died. She is a shoe-in for Pres - so get used to the same thing for the next 12 years.
All of these so-called "moderate muslims" (snort, snort) like ellison are talking out both sides or their seditious mouths. Why don´t they clean up their mosques and schools if they are upset about radicals? They know darned well where and by who this stuff is being taught and disseminated. Truth be known I believe they mostly concur, though they don´t have the stones to admit it. I am quite sure that inside they hate me and my fellow Christian countrymen to the core, and would welcome the chance to lop off a few heads.
First we need to correctly recognize Islam as a terrorist group, not a religion. That will not happen under the confused leadership we now suffer under. Average Mohammad the family man may not blow up bombs in crowds, but inside his soul is glad that some nice boys from the mosque were brave enough to do it. These are the little victories that convince him Allah is great.
Liberals do not hesitate to cast a wide net regarding owners of certain types of guns yet they object to casting a wide net regarding terrorists of a certain faith.
In both cases, it is select individuals who disregard current laws and perpetrate crimes.
In both cases, we need more effective means to identify those select individuals who are willing to commit crimes and deal with them appropriately, preferably prior to the time they commit crimes. This means identifying radical Muslims, gang members willing to kill other gang members, and mentally ill citizens full of rage and willing to commit mass murder prior to their own suicides.
Profiling is a useful tool in preventative law enforcement. That is an irrefutable fact.
Perhaps the congressman would openly reaffirm his loyalty to America and the Constitution before urging us to be gentle with the non citizen Muslims among us. If those followers of Islam are loyal Americans then they too deserve to worship the religion of their choosing. If they are here only to take over and force their political and religious bents opon us then they must leave. America was called a melding pot where all comers are to blend into the entire core of the belief in freedom and individual choices mot the mere occupation of our lands without any intention of continuing our freedoms. Far too many of your fellow Muslims and possibly you too have yet to learn this concept. Stand and deliver sir.
Vile religion or vile Satanic cult, the muslims had to be kicked out of Europe in the middle ages, and they had to be kicked out of the Holy Land. We will need a Crusade here in America resist this murder. I am so surprised that resistance hasn´t spontaneously risen to the challenge.
"They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break." But Rangel had praise for a few Republicans. He mentioned New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, citing Christie´s criticism of House Republicans for delaying a vote on federal relief aid for states hit by Hurricane
The House voted Friday to prevent the IRS from enforcing any aspect of ObamaCare, a bill meant to exact revenge against an agency that Republicans say is incapable of neutral enforcement of the law. Members approved the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act in a 232-185 vote. Four Democrats supported the bill along with every Republican. The vote capped off several days of work in the House on bills aimed at reining in government regulation and government overreach. House Democrats cast the votes as merely for show, given opposition from the White House and the Senate
The Los Angeles and Chicago metropolitan areas had the most gun murders among the nation’s fifty most-populous metropolitan areas in 2009 and 2010 (the latest years for which date is available), according to a report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During those two years, 1,141 people were gunned to death in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and 1,139 were gunned to death in the Chicago metropolitan area. The New York metropolitan area ranked third with 1,101 gun homicides. The Los Angeles, Chicago and New York metropolitan areas also ranked one,
Terrorist-supporting conservative uberhawk Rep. Peter King (R-New York), sounding very much like a man feeling left out of the Chris Christie vs. Rand Paul story, played the McCainesque America-Firster card against Paul Wednesday on CNN: [W]hat this reminds me of, someone like Senator Paul and others in that isolationist wing -- now, the Republicans had this debate back in the 1930s when you had the isolationists and the Charles Lindberghs that said we should appease Hitler. And the Democrats had it in the
EACH of us took turns over the past 43 years running the Environmental Protection Agency. We served Republican presidents, but we have a message that transcends political affiliation: the United States must move now on substantive steps to curb climate change, at home and internationally. There is no longer any credible scientific debate about the basic facts: our world continues to warm, with the last decade the hottest in modern records, and the deep ocean warming faster than the earth’s atmosphere. Sea level is rising. Arctic Sea ice is melting years faster than projected.
Let’s stipulate a fact: Most men cannot complete US Marine Corps combat training. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training is one of the purposes of the training. Keep those who can complete it, weed out those who can’t. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training saves lives by eliminating weak links in combat units. “Weak,” in the context of military combat training, encompasses physical and mental. Most people simply are not suited to military combat, male or female. The Pentagon is trying to integrate
Sen. John McCain appears cautiously optimistic that the House of Representatives will ultimately pass some kind of immigration reform — and says that the GOP is doomed in the 2016 presidential contest if the effort fails. “The crystal ball is a little cloudy because I think August is going to be a very seminal month,” he said, pointing out that members are back interacting with constituents and that a broad coalition of interest groups back comprehensive immigration reform. Mr. McCain was part of a bipartisan group that helped
The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday to U.S. citizens over an Al Qaeda terror threat, as the U.S. government prepared to close its embassies and consulates throughout the Muslim world this Sunday over security concerns. U.S. officials have not offered many details on the nature of the threat, but apparently are taking it seriously. John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., said the alert indicates the U.S. government must have some "pretty good information" about a possible threat. The travel alert issued Friday warned Americans of the
On Wednesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa reacted to criticisms from conservative talk show host Mark Levin had made on the same program just 24 hours earlier. In that appearance, Levin suggested the House Republican leadership wasn’t doing its due diligence in investigating the scandals involving the Obama administration, including the Benghazi terrorist attacks and the targeted audits of the Internal Revenue Service. Issa explained to Cavuto that his investigators and his committee were doing its best to connect all the dots,
The House approved an amendment to legislation Friday that would prevent the White House from imposing a carbon tax without congressional approval. The lower chamber agreed to Rep. Steve Scalise’s (R-La.) amendment by a 237-176 vote, with 12 Democrats crossing the aisle to support it. The amendment was added to an underlying bill that would require Congress to OK regulations that carry a $100 million economic impact or greater. That bill is dead in its tracks in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the White House has threatened to veto it. Scalise’s measure doesn’t
Congress can breath easy now since it won’t be subjected to the ironically titled Affordable Care Act. As I mentioned on Tuesday, according to the New York Times, many in Congress were “freaking out” about having to get their insurance through the Obamacare exchanges without the lavish subsidies that they usually benefit from as federal employees. Manhattan Institute’s Avik Roy has a good summary of the issue t:his morning. Here is a tidbit: According to John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman of Politico, President Obama has personally involved himself in the
I think she’s one of the most fascinating women of our time and this world,” confessed Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC, as part of his announcement that his network is making a miniseries about former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, with Diane Lane in the starring role. Words are funny things. For instance, G.K. Chesterton once remarked that that the word “good” has many uses: “For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of 500 yards, I should call him a good shot but not necessarily a good man.” So it is,
Colin Powell has admitted to exchanging ´very personal´ emails with a Romanian diplomat but denies having an affair with the much younger woman after a hacker threatened to release their intimate messages. The 76-year-old retired general told the Smoking Gun that he met Corina Cretu, 45, roughly 10 years ago when she was working as an assistant to the president of Romania. She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.
CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assault by armed militants last September 11 in eastern Libya. Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy
Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin
The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.
In preparation for the release of Oscar-bait film The Butler, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down with Parade magazine. The film chronicles a butler (Whitaker) who works in the White House through seven administrations. Winfrey plays the butler’s wife. In the interview, Winfrey explained her sadness that so few Americans know about the history of the civil rights movement: “They don’t know diddly-squat. Diddly-squat.” She then said of the historic use of the n-word, “I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."
About 400 area retail and fast-food workers, together with colleagues nationally, participated in a strike Thursday to demand raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. “If not $15, then something. I mean give us something. I work 36 hours a week and barely make enough to pay my rent, gas bill, light bill. It gets to the point where I barely have enough for lunch sometimes,” said Angel Richardson, 21, who works at McDonald’s. “I’m five months pregnant, what am I going to do in four months? I hope something changes.” The minimum wage is $7.25 nationally and $8.25
Oprah Winfrey said Americans by and large know “diddly-squat” about the history of the civil rights movement. The talk show queen and media mogul made her comments during the promotion of her new film, “The Butler,” about a black man who serves in that capacity through seven administrations at the White House. “They don’t know diddly-squat,” she said in a recent interview with Parade magazine. “Diddly-squat.” Ms. Winfrey also said that when she hears the N-word, she thinks of the “millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree.”
The administration has popped the bubble of hope some small business had that switching to part-time staff would let them escape the high costs of Obamacare. The Small Business Administration on Thursday created a website to explain to businesses that the government will simply tally up the number of part-time employees firms have to determine if enough hours have been worked to essentially create a "full-time equivalent." Some smaller businesses had thought that if they could get under the 50 full-time employee cap that activates Obamacare by cutting full-time workers and hiring more part-time workers they would escape
Government workers in the city of Seattle have been advised that the terms "citizen" and "brown bag" are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions. KOMO-TV reports that the city´s Office of Civil Rights instructed city workers in a recent internal memo to avoid using the words because some may find them offensive. "Luckily, we´ve got options," Elliott Bronstein of the Office for Civil Rights wrote in the memo obtained by the station. "For ´citizens,´ how about ´residents?´"
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested on Friday morning that the tea party movement is comprised of the same types of people who fought against the civil rights movement during the 1960s. Speaking with the Daily Beast, Rangel said of the movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. He added that the tea party movement can be defeated similar to how the civil rights movement eradicated Jim Crow mentality: “It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused
