CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn´t have gun permits. Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE´-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms. He says it´s unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren´t considered public records.

But did they have a permit for a pressure cooker?

FTA - I hadn´t seen this before. Other reports have said they released the driver of the hijacked Mercedes SUV:

The suspects were also accused of hijacking a Mercedes on Thursday night.

Haas says the pair didn´t release the driver, but he escaped when he was left alone while the two men entered a convenience store.

Is that the store near MIT that called the police and resulted in the killing of the campus police officer?

This is pretty much why I made my "Barney Fife" comments earlier in reference to the "first responders" and their inability to apprehend this piece of human filth when his older brother was dispatched. Gee, no gun permit for either terrorist and the police commissioner doesn´t know if either brother ever applied for one. I don´t know whether to scream at my computer screen or just go make supper. OK, it´s supper then.....

Both brothers had green cards. A green card holder can" Purchase and own a firearm, pursuant to local and state restrictions" .

Sooooo, does Mass restrict the purchase of firearms for non-green card holders? If not, it begs whether or not what the brothers possessed was legal or not relative to their citizen peers.

Suspects didn´t have a gun permit--The implied AP shock brings forth hard core laughter. Are all the libs that naive?
Like their president their motto must be in Drones we trust.
No wonder their media was praying the terrorist was a bitter white American clinging to his guns and bible.
The mere idea of an act of terror from the bowels of islam was too much to face After all Obe declared there were no more.
To keep from being the target Obe closes his eyes to the truth --his brethren are destructive.

Just a little common sense gun control and they would never have had the opportunity to murder that nice police officer.
Oh, and what about the permit for the explosives?

Oh no! Looks like we are in the midst of people who are law breakers, killers, non compliant with our laws, using non-registered firearms and probably illegal explosives too...and the FEDERAL Government wants the honest, taxpaying, law compliant, registered gun owners, to turn in their weapons, register further in a NATIONAL register so EVERYBODY can know I have a weapon AND where I live??? Are they STUPID or is this a Larry, Curly and Moe scenario??? I have very high praise for the local police, the FBI, the SWAT folks and so on...but when SECONDS count, the LAW is MINUTES away...I´ll look after my own thank you...

Was the "rifle" they had an "assault weapon?" Surely a law banning assault weapons would have stopped them.

When the Boston Police, the FBI and the CIA get done with their round of self-inflicted pats-on-the-back maybe they should start examining why they didn´t see this coming. Maybe include Homeland Security and INS in that conversation.

The oft-repeated "They have to be right only once, we have to be right 100% of the time" meme just doesn´t cut it. Every sign was there, they just didn´t see it, or want to see it.

Celebrate Diversity! Just what did the admittance of these two losers add to the fabric and culture of America?

And this points out the fact that criminals will not register for guns - only the honest citizen will be bugged by the gun laws our brainless politicos are pushing.

The big problem is they just want to establish a national gun registry. You do not have to be super intelligent to figure out what happens after that.

Big changes could be just down the road for North Carolina drivers. A proposal is in the works that would change the state tax system to charge drivers by the mile, instead of at the gas pump. The proposal would be to charge a half cent per mile for cars, which would generate almost $500 million in annual state revenue. A driver who travelled 15,000 miles in a year would pay about $75. "Basically you pay per the mile. It´s treating transportation as a utility, much like your water and sewer," said Larry Goode, with the Institute of Transportation Research and

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Taxpayer funding went to all 50 states in efforts to encourage people to enroll, including nearly $28 million for the

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”

Attorney General Eric Holder disputed a Government Accountability Office report on his use of Justice Department airplanes for personal trips, saying it overstated the number of trips he took and failed to recognize that some trips were job-related. "My staff keeps telling me to take it easy, you know, well, this is one that gets me," Holder told Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. "There was this notion that we´ve taken -- I think it was described as hundreds of personal trips. That was wrong. GAO counted flights, not round trips. And we looked at it
