It Wasn’t the Aryan Brotherhood,
Apparently: Texas Woman Confesses
to Role in D.A. Murders

A Texas woman, the wife of a local justice of the peace, has confessed to being involved in a high-profile series of shootings in Kaufman County—shootings that were initially linked to members of the Aryan Brotherhood. Kim Williams, 46, confessed to Texas police about the role she and her husband allegedly played in the murder of local district attorney Mike McLelland, his wife Cynthia, and another prosecutor, Mike Hasse.(Snip)No concrete links to the Aryan Brotherhood were ever established. And in fact Kim Williams’s husband Eric, also 46, emerged as a prime suspect in the murders just hours

I keep hearing of the Aryan Brotherhood described as "right-wing," but I haven´t seen a study of their actual voting patterns.

Given that they are, in many cases, enforcers for Mexican drug gangs, I doubt that they are supporters of conservative political causes.

Doesn´t that make them typical felons, i.e., Democrats, liberal, even "left wing?"

Can You Lie in Politics?
Supreme Court Will Decide
Roll Call, by David Hawkings    Original Article

The Supreme Court has made pretty clear that putting your money where your mouth is deserves broad protection as a form of free political speech. The justices are about to consider whether outright lying in a campaign deserves a similar First Amendment shield. The court’s recent decisions easing the flow of generous campaign contributions already shifted the electoral landscape. If the court finds that even the most patently outrageous statements about candidates may not be barred by law, those two decisions combined could expand the rhetorical battlefield of the midterm elections and raise the attack ad volume as never before. The Real Meaning of Soviet

As soon as the photograph of Soviet propaganda posters in Jay Carney’s kitchen hit the Internet, right-wing pundits began to draw conclusions about White House Press Secretary’s ideology, morals, and political leanings. It was as if things that a man merely places on his walls and looks at day after day can be any indication of his life choices. If that were so, the meals in Carney’s kitchen would also probably match the menu of the place and time of the posters. His family would be living on a diet of beets, gruel, occasional rat, and thinly sliced boiled jackboots, which

BUNKERVILLE, NEVADA—The Bundy Ranch roundup has understandably stirred thin-stretched emotions as the federal government seizes cattle belonging to the Bundy family. The family settled in the late 1800’s and has ranched in the area since. The federal government allowed Nevada ranchers to graze their cattle on federal tracts of land adjacent to their private properties for generations. The federal government later created the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to administer and “protect” the vast swaths of federal land—including the land the Bundy family’s livelihood was—and still is—dependent upon. The BLM began restricting ranchers’ usage of federal lands to protect various

A huge wave of public testimony, reports and documents on what happened in Benghazi now floods Washington, and little of it focuses on the role of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton before, on, or after Sept. 11, 2012. Over the past 18 months, there have been at least seven public congressional hearings and three fact-finding reports on the terrorist attack. If not invisible, Mrs. Clinton is certainly portrayed as being only in the background during Benghazi, unaware of key events. Mr. Gillies, a marketing consultant by day and a horse owner himself, says that during his 14 years in the equestrian world, "I´ve seen the full range of drama that is associated with horse people." Good news for New Yorkers, who live, work and play in what remains the world’s top terror target: New profiling rules the Justice Department is drafting will reportedly let the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue the critical work of using nationality to map neighborhoods, recruit informants and look for foreign agents. Judging by the horse he gave Defense Secretary Chuckie Hagel a couple of days ago, Mongolian Defense Minister Dashdemberel must be a very diligent student of the defense budget that Congress is now trying to craft. White House senior adviser John Podesta is running against the clock. They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it. Democrats hope to retain control of the Senate and recapture the House by driving
