Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed ‘surprise and disappointment’ last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. The Queen’s decision to attend
The farther Obama and his sycophants remain away from anything representing English and American tradition, the better. It proves the utter contempt he has of both countries´ history. Obama isn´t worthy to be near such greatness as Thatcher showed the world. The bust of Churchill must be smiling now.
Extremely bad form. It is obvious Obama and no-one in his administration comprehend protocol. I am shocked that the United States of America would behave this way. Unfortunately what he does and doesn´t do reflects on us. Disgusting.
Obama got his fanny kissed all over socialized Europe, his butt boys arranged--bought--him a shiny new peace prize, then, Dang!! He heard the Brits were not going to make him a knight. Well, he showed them! Sulk. Pout.
Obama´s response to this situation underscores the enormous changes that our society will have to endure to restore any sense of correctness and dignity to our way of life. If we ever expect to regain the respect of the real world, the task at hand seems almost incomprehensible. God help us!
Maybe it´s all those years of Monty Python that have twisted my sense of humor. But in my mind I picture Obama and Moochelle, at the funeral next to Lady Thatchers coffin. When all of a sudden the lid opens and Lady Thatcher sits up, flips Obama the bird and yells "Marxist I have seen your future, and you will not win!".

Have you considered the Brits sent the message to Obe and company STAY AWAY we can´t deal with your 200 SS agents and stop the funeral procession so they could drive through? Plus they can´t hold back the service to long enough to bullet proof the church windows and hotel rooms. Remember when Obe demanded the palace windows in his 3rd floor suit had to be replaced with bullet proofing for a one night stay?

Of course he did. If he returned Winston Churchill´s bust to them the moment he set foot in our White House, he´s certainly not going to soil his reputation crossing the pond for them. He has an immature point to prove about anti-colonialism.
That´s about the only thing he has had an original thought on. Everything else was programmed by the marxist radicals &/or written and directed by Val Jar.
As usual, he thinks it´s all about him. Our government should be represented officially at the funeral. As much as I despise this administration, they are the current US government. I continue to wonder how many more times he will embarrass us on the world stage. I hope the Brits return the snub someday.
It would be impossible for anyone in the classless Obama administration to sit there while Margaret Thatcher was being praised. Progressives are all about being snide and snarky, and from day one have showed themselves to be ignorant of decorum and protocol. Baroness Thatcher deserves better representation and she will get it from James Baker and George Shultz.
He must sit around strategizing about how to be the anti-president because he does it so consistently and so well. I quit being surprised after his first bow-from-the-waist to a foreign potentate. But I still despise him for his hatred of America.
Sending O to represent Ronald Reagan´s America would be like sending Kim Kardashian to represent Audrey Hepburn; a grotesque and ludicrous incongruity. The America Baroness Thatcher loved, and to which she was a friend and essential ally barely exists anymore.

We do not even have an Ambassador to UK and are represented by Charge d´affaires. Obama has referred to the Falklands as Malvinas-giving support for fellow socialist Kirchner. One of Thatchers greatest achievements was keeping the Falklands British. Our fake POTUS would have been among the " enemy". Perhaps he was afraid of being exposed as the fraud he is? Perhaps he knew about the Boston bombing beforehand and wanted to be here to exploit it?
tacky to the max - and it is embarrassing that this behavior is on display internationally. surely he could have sent someone appropriate as his representative as he is president of all the people - not just liberal dems. playing politics at time of death is really a new low. it will boomerang sooner or later
Think how far back you would have to go to find a dem admin with class, integrity and dignity to send someone to pay America´s respect. Obama(no), Clinton(no), Cater(no), Johnson(no), Kennedy(no), Truman(finally). It´s a sad state of affairs to see such trash occupying the highest levels of the dem party for so long.
Frankly, it´s a huge relief -- if Skippy or Mrs. Skippy attended, they´d be making the occasion all about them. As for Biden, now we don´t have to worry about his embarrassing our country with one of his flaky remarks.
Rest in peace, Lady Thatcher. You served your country, and the world, superbly.
BHO, Mooch, and Bird Brain have individually and collectively been "on the dole" grifters all their lives. Thatcher would have known them for what they are. And besides, Moochelle would have shown up looking like a drag queen. (My apologoes to drag queens).
As a contrast, you may recal that last month the press reported that the US was planning to send an official delegation to the Chavez funeral. As it turned out none was sent because they were discouraged from attending.
Lady Thatcher never wavered in her support for the principles which secure liberty, the very freedom which the USA stands for. It is thus no wonder the militant lefties of this world still revile both Thatcher and Pres. Reagan, for when the Berlin Wall came down & the USSR fell flat, these magnificent champions for freedom proved that statist/socialist tyranny CAN be defeated and those enslaved by it CAN be set free.
For the leadership of any current free country on the planet not to honor so great a champion of freedom as Margaret Thatcher brings disgrace upon that country and is a petty betrayal of Liberty.
0bama & his harpy gaggle of radical dem socialist politicos have no shame.
Rudy Giulliani said it best, "Weddings are optional, funerals are mandatory..." This is a grave insult to Lady Thatcher. The beautiful tribute she played to her friend President Ronald Reagan at his funeral should have been returned by the present American President. Sad...
The Obama administration, in an 11th-hour change just before the holiday break, announced a major exemption in ObamaCare that will let people who lost coverage and are struggling to get a new plan sign up for bare-bones policies. The move Thursday to allow potentially hundreds of thousands of people to sign up for "catastrophic" coverage plans was blasted by the insurance industry as a shift that would cause "tremendous instability.” The administration downplayed the sudden change, saying they expected it to impact fewer than 500,000 people. Health and Human Services spokeswoman Joanne Peters said, "This is a common sense clarification of the law. For
Ethan Krupp, the little man who played “Pajama Boy” in a widely-mocked Obamacare ad, was accused in college of racism and anti-Semitism. Krupp, an Organizing for Action (OFA) content writer who became the face of progressive America when he sipped cocoa and smirked while wearing a onesie pajama suit in a recent Obamacare ad, is also a failed comedy writer whose work was not appreciated in his own time. Krupp was the editor of Wisconsin’s college-town “Madison Misnomer” as recently as 2010, noting that “Nothing is ever accomplished” at editorial meetings and “It probably won’t last more than another year.” But while
Have you heard about “Pajama Boy”? He’s in an ad tweeted yesterday by a political nonprofit associated with President Obama, wearing what appears to be a plaid onesie while cradling a hot beverage and looking to one side through arched eyebrows. The point of the ad is to promote Obamacare among young adults. “Wear pajamas. Drink hot chocolate. Talk about getting health insurance,” says the ad copy.
Iran: Protecting President Obama from embarrassment precludes protecting America from nuclear terror. That´s why Harry Reid is blocking a bipartisan coalition of senators from voting to increase sanctions on Iran. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., hit the detonator on the head Wednesday when he pointed out on the Senate floor that his Democratic counterpart "can´t stomach a vote on Iran sanctions" because "he knows the administration would lose that vote decisively, and he knows that many members of his own caucus would vote alongside Republicans to strengthen those sanctions." Reid was pushing through a defense spending bill under floor rules that
Last month we told you about John Beale, the Environmental Protection Agency employee who bilked taxpayers out of almost $900,000 by pretending to be a secret agent. Telling EPA colleagues that he was a CIA operative, Beale was paid for long absences while on imaginary missions for "Langley." Now there is a disturbing new question about John Beale that goes to the heart of the EPA´s mission. What was he doing when he actually showed up for work? In September, Beale pleaded guilty to theft of government property and agreed to pay $886,186 in restitution and to forfeit another $507,207. On
Redistribution: Imagine lower-income families watching their incomes drop while their tax burden goes up. Patently unfair, right? Yet it actually happened under President Obama. According to a Tax Foundation analysis of new IRS data, the bottom half of income-tax filers paid 36% more in taxes in 2011 than they did in 2010 — even though their incomes barely budged. The top half, in contrast, saw their tax burden climb only 9%. The average tax rate paid by the bottom half has climbed every year under Obama, going from 2.35% in 2009 to 3.13% in 2011. Viewed another way, the share of "adjusted gross
There are all sorts of time bombs embedded within ObamaCare. Will we force doctors to treat millions of new Medicaid patients who are signing up for services that can be only partially reimbursed? How will the IRS collect penalties from millions of off-the-books youth who choose not to buy coverage? For those who chose not to buy health insurance in the past, will these newly insured really follow through on their initial sign-ups with steady monthly premium payments? If not, how will we collect what they owe? Will all those who lost their coverage have enough money to buy the costlier
A&E enjoys rights to free contract and free speech in determining whom they employ and what they allow them to say. But just because you have a right to do something doesn’t make it the right thing to do. In a series of instances we have seen the gatekeepers of civil society attack those who hold Biblical views about marriage and sexuality—Chick-fil-A, Barilla Pasta, Craig James who was fired from ESPN, and now Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty. It is even worse, of course, when it is the government that penalizes those who hold Biblical views. That should be anathema in America.
Fifteen years ago today, the House of Representatives impeached a president for only the second time in history — and the first in well over a century. At some point, some fair-minded historian should go back and publish a thorough account of that year-long controversy, just to set the record straight. Some may argue over whether Clinton’s perjury and obstruction of justice amounted to “high crimes or misdemeanors,” but the case needs to be established for the record that Clinton did, without a doubt, perjure himself and obstruct justice. (I believe he also suborned perjury, among other misdeeds.) Moreover, it
RUSH: The latest Fox News poll gives Obama a 41% approval rating among registered voters. But how about this. Only 37% of voters under 30 approve of the job the president´s doing. That´s a 17-point decline, folks, in one year among voters who represent what was once the core of the Obama coalition. These are the people to whom the president´s making an increasingly frantic plea to enroll in Obamacare, where that sick... Sorry. Yes, sick Pajama Boy ad. Do you know where you can get that? Somebody going through the Target, said you could actually buy that onesie that
RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, as you are undoubtedly aware by now, the A&E network, which stands for Arts & Entertainment, has put the patriarch of Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson, on indefinite hiatus. I think they´ve essentially fired the guy, and in the process, they have thrown away the largest audience on cable television. They´ve just thrown it away. They´ve thrown away all that advertising. I want to get into that aspect of this as it relates to what a free market is in a moment. But first, it is obvious that Robertson´s goose is cooked. The Duck Dynasty goose is
Being a Clinton sure beats being a Bush these days. At least according to the polls. Nearly five years after George W. Bush left office, half the public still blames the former president for the nation’s economic woes, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll released this week. The survey comes as Republicans have continued to keep the 43rd president at arm’s length. Democrats, meanwhile, have warmly embraced the family that occupied the White House prior to Bush; polling data show the Clintons are riding high. Fifty percent of Americans say Bush is more responsible for the country’s current economic problems than
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E´s "Duck Dynasty," won´t be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after slamming gays in a magazine interview. In the January issue of GQ, Robertson said homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man´s anus. That´s just me. I´m just thinking: There´s more there! She´s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know
A&E broke its silence on Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments late Wednesday. The cable network announced Robertson is off the hit show for the time being. The network issued the following statement to EW: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
President Barack Obama sent Russia a clear message about its treatment of gays and lesbians with who he is — and isn’t — sending to represent the United States at the Sochi Olympics. Billie Jean King will be one of two openly gay athletes in the U.S. delegation for the opening and closing ceremonies, Obama announced Tuesday. For the first time since 2000, however, the U.S. will not send a president, former president, first lady or vice president to the Games. Russia has come under fierce criticism for passing national laws banning “gay propaganda.” Though the White House did not specifically address
The gay and lesbian rights group GLAAD is slamming ´Duck Dynasty´ patriarch Phil Robertson for comments he made about homosexuality to GQ magazine, and challenging the show´s network, A&E, to take action against its most popular star. In a wide-ranging interview, Robertson shared his thoughts on homosexuality and religion. After stating in very graphic terms his preference for heterosexual sex over homosexual sex, Robertson launched into more thoughts about homosexuality and sinning. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong... Sin becomes fine,” he said.
Yes, she really said it. On CNN’s Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, “We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn´t say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah” (video follows with transcript and commentary): PIERS MORGAN, HOST: You have interviewed every president of my lifetime. Why is Obama facing so much opposition now? Why is he struggling so much to really fulfill the great flame of ambition and excitement that he was elected on originally in 2009?
Everyone is doing thoughtful year-end pieces on President Obama. Writers and reporters agree he’s had his worst year ever. I infer from most of their essays an unstated but broadly held sense of foreboding: There’s no particular reason to believe next year will be better, and in fact signs and indications point to continued trouble. I would add that in recent weeks I have begun to worry about the basic competency of the administration, its ability to perform the most fundamental duties of executive management. One reason I worry is that I frequently speak with people who interact with the White
O ne year removed from re-election, President Obama´s approval rating has sunk to the lowest level of his presidency. Furthermore, Obama´s popularity among the Democratic Party base — whose rejuvenated support proved crucial last November — took a huge hit this past year. Only 54 percent of self-described liberals "very strongly" approve of Obama´s job performance, according to a Pew survey released this week. That´s down from an all-time high of nearly 90 percent, and a significant decline from the 73 percent who strongly approved of the president back in June. Why the steep drop? Well, the first year of Obama´s second term
John Podesta was just named as a new senior-level adviser to President Obama last week, but he´s already ruffling Republican feathers. In a profile published late Tuesday night by Politico Magazine, Podesta is quoted comparing Republicans to the infamous cult led by Jim Jones, who was responsible for the 1978 cyanide poisoning of more than 900 of his followers in Guyana. "They need to focus on executive action given that they are facing a second term against a cult worthy of Jonestown in charge of one of the houses of Congress," said Podesta of what Obama´s White House team faces.
Hours after we reported that Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson dropped some illogical “logic” on homosexuality during his GQ interview, his home network A&E decided to indefinitely suspend him from the show. While Robertson’s comments were hilariously ignorant, they were predictable — especially given his family’s socially-conservative, Bible-loving image. Suspending the lead character for his wholly predictable comments is not only an overreaction but a gross misstep. To recap: The Duck Commander patriarch remarked to the men’s magazine that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, and used fifth-grade “logic” to imply that homosexual men should give up their ways of choosing a
The U.S. Army War College, which molds future field generals, has begun discussing whether it should remove its portraits of Confederate generals — including those of Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Nestled in rural Pennsylvania on the 500-acre Carlisle Barracks, the war college is conducting an inventory of all its paintings and photographs with an eye for rehanging them in historical themes to tell a particular Army story. During the inventory, an unidentified official — not the commandant, Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Cucolo III — asked the administration why the college honors two generals who fought against the United States,
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ. "We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely." The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview
The Ivy-League educated half-brother of President Obama is publishing his autobiography in which he makes the shocking claim their father dished out alcohol-fueled beatings to him and his mother and in one terrifying instance held a knife to her throat. Mark Obama Ndesandjo, 48, also uses his new book to set the U.S. president straight on inaccuracies he claims exist in his best-selling 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father and confirms they have never seen eye-to-eye because ´Barack thought I was too white and I thought he was too black.´ The self-published book, Cultures: My Odyssey of Self-Discovery, which will be
