Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed ‘surprise and disappointment’ last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. The Queen’s decision to attend
The farther Obama and his sycophants remain away from anything representing English and American tradition, the better. It proves the utter contempt he has of both countries´ history. Obama isn´t worthy to be near such greatness as Thatcher showed the world. The bust of Churchill must be smiling now.
Extremely bad form. It is obvious Obama and no-one in his administration comprehend protocol. I am shocked that the United States of America would behave this way. Unfortunately what he does and doesn´t do reflects on us. Disgusting.
Obama got his fanny kissed all over socialized Europe, his butt boys arranged--bought--him a shiny new peace prize, then, Dang!! He heard the Brits were not going to make him a knight. Well, he showed them! Sulk. Pout.
Obama´s response to this situation underscores the enormous changes that our society will have to endure to restore any sense of correctness and dignity to our way of life. If we ever expect to regain the respect of the real world, the task at hand seems almost incomprehensible. God help us!
Maybe it´s all those years of Monty Python that have twisted my sense of humor. But in my mind I picture Obama and Moochelle, at the funeral next to Lady Thatchers coffin. When all of a sudden the lid opens and Lady Thatcher sits up, flips Obama the bird and yells "Marxist I have seen your future, and you will not win!".

Have you considered the Brits sent the message to Obe and company STAY AWAY we can´t deal with your 200 SS agents and stop the funeral procession so they could drive through? Plus they can´t hold back the service to long enough to bullet proof the church windows and hotel rooms. Remember when Obe demanded the palace windows in his 3rd floor suit had to be replaced with bullet proofing for a one night stay?

Of course he did. If he returned Winston Churchill´s bust to them the moment he set foot in our White House, he´s certainly not going to soil his reputation crossing the pond for them. He has an immature point to prove about anti-colonialism.
That´s about the only thing he has had an original thought on. Everything else was programmed by the marxist radicals &/or written and directed by Val Jar.
As usual, he thinks it´s all about him. Our government should be represented officially at the funeral. As much as I despise this administration, they are the current US government. I continue to wonder how many more times he will embarrass us on the world stage. I hope the Brits return the snub someday.
It would be impossible for anyone in the classless Obama administration to sit there while Margaret Thatcher was being praised. Progressives are all about being snide and snarky, and from day one have showed themselves to be ignorant of decorum and protocol. Baroness Thatcher deserves better representation and she will get it from James Baker and George Shultz.
He must sit around strategizing about how to be the anti-president because he does it so consistently and so well. I quit being surprised after his first bow-from-the-waist to a foreign potentate. But I still despise him for his hatred of America.
Sending O to represent Ronald Reagan´s America would be like sending Kim Kardashian to represent Audrey Hepburn; a grotesque and ludicrous incongruity. The America Baroness Thatcher loved, and to which she was a friend and essential ally barely exists anymore.

We do not even have an Ambassador to UK and are represented by Charge d´affaires. Obama has referred to the Falklands as Malvinas-giving support for fellow socialist Kirchner. One of Thatchers greatest achievements was keeping the Falklands British. Our fake POTUS would have been among the " enemy". Perhaps he was afraid of being exposed as the fraud he is? Perhaps he knew about the Boston bombing beforehand and wanted to be here to exploit it?
tacky to the max - and it is embarrassing that this behavior is on display internationally. surely he could have sent someone appropriate as his representative as he is president of all the people - not just liberal dems. playing politics at time of death is really a new low. it will boomerang sooner or later
Think how far back you would have to go to find a dem admin with class, integrity and dignity to send someone to pay America´s respect. Obama(no), Clinton(no), Cater(no), Johnson(no), Kennedy(no), Truman(finally). It´s a sad state of affairs to see such trash occupying the highest levels of the dem party for so long.
Frankly, it´s a huge relief -- if Skippy or Mrs. Skippy attended, they´d be making the occasion all about them. As for Biden, now we don´t have to worry about his embarrassing our country with one of his flaky remarks.
Rest in peace, Lady Thatcher. You served your country, and the world, superbly.
BHO, Mooch, and Bird Brain have individually and collectively been "on the dole" grifters all their lives. Thatcher would have known them for what they are. And besides, Moochelle would have shown up looking like a drag queen. (My apologoes to drag queens).
As a contrast, you may recal that last month the press reported that the US was planning to send an official delegation to the Chavez funeral. As it turned out none was sent because they were discouraged from attending.
Lady Thatcher never wavered in her support for the principles which secure liberty, the very freedom which the USA stands for. It is thus no wonder the militant lefties of this world still revile both Thatcher and Pres. Reagan, for when the Berlin Wall came down & the USSR fell flat, these magnificent champions for freedom proved that statist/socialist tyranny CAN be defeated and those enslaved by it CAN be set free.
For the leadership of any current free country on the planet not to honor so great a champion of freedom as Margaret Thatcher brings disgrace upon that country and is a petty betrayal of Liberty.
0bama & his harpy gaggle of radical dem socialist politicos have no shame.
Rudy Giulliani said it best, "Weddings are optional, funerals are mandatory..." This is a grave insult to Lady Thatcher. The beautiful tribute she played to her friend President Ronald Reagan at his funeral should have been returned by the present American President. Sad...
Hysteria: The Environmental Protection Agency chief says global warming is the most urgent threat to public health. Given that the whole climate change frightfest has fallen apart, how do people keep saying such things? EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy says she has dedicated her life to protecting the environment. It´s too bad she is not more dedicated to reality. If she were, her comments Monday before the left-wing Center for American Progress would have been different. But McCarthy knew who she was speaking to and told the group what it wanted to hear when she said, "I really see no greater issue and
´We have communicated in no uncertain terms with every player in the region that that´s a red line for us and that there would be enormous consequences if we start seeing movement on the chemical weapons front or the use of chemical weapons."— Barack Obama, Aug. 20, 2012 "First of all, if you´ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you."—Barack Obama, multiple versions What would you rather be: an American lost inside an ObamaCare exchange or a Syrian rebel?
Contrary to what you might have heard, there really was a world communist conspiracy. Its purpose was not just agitation but propaganda. To bring it about, V.I. Lenin recruited a special corps of propagandists for what was to become the Communist International. For a fanatic like Lenin, it wasn´t enough merely to have a communist revolution in Russia. He wanted communism to take over the world, the fulfillment of Marx´s exhortation "Workers of the world, unite!" according to Stephane Courtois and Jean-Louis Panne, authors of "The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression," published in 1999. Lenin also feared that unless other countries
For all of their mutual public admiration, Presidents Clinton and Obama react differently to political trouble. Bill moved to the middle, while Barack always moves left. So it´s no surprise that Mr. Obama is responding to his ObamaCare rollout slump by doing his best Elizabeth Warren imitation. Mr. Obama returned to his favorite theme of rising income inequality on Wednesday, which he called "the defining challenge of our time." He ought to know since few Presidents have done more to increase inequality than he has. Median household income has fallen since the economic recovery began, while the rich who own capital
Immigration: Strong signs point to House Speaker John Boehner leading an amnesty cave-in that delivers millions of new Democratic votes. Republicans should man up and put border security front and center. The two words "Becky Tallent" resonate with conservatives in Congress the way "Howard Baker" did when Ronald Reagan welcomed the liberal Republican senator as chief of staff during Iran-Contra, bringing most of the Reagan agenda to a screeching halt; or the way the words "Susan Kennedy" did a decade ago when newly elected California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger crushed his supporters by hiring the hard-line Democratic operative as chief of staff. Speaker
In a wide-ranging economic stump speech Wednesday, President Obama focused laser-like on the growing gap between America´s rich and poor, despite polling that shows hardly anyone believes it´s the most pressing issue facing the U.S. The issue-pivot was an effort to help him move away from the drumbeat of criticism of his policies on health insurance reform and Iran´s nuclear program, one White House insider said on background. ´Rising inequality and declining mobility is bad for our democracy,´ he said during an event hosted by the far-left Center for American Progress. ´People get the bad taste that the system is rigged.´ ´I believe
With all of Bubba´s women, it turns out he had a thing for Mary Jane too. Former President Bill Clinton said Tuesday that despite his denials in 1992, he was always honest about his past marijuana use. ´I never denied that I used marijuana,´ Clinton told Jorge Ramos on Fusion TV. ´I told the truth.´ But during a campaign event before his first presidential election, then-Arkansas Gov. Clinton said he was no pothead. ´When I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and didn´t like it,´ Clinton said then. ´I didn´t inhale, and I didn´t try it again.´ Clinton dissembled whtn
Legacies as a concept are deeply embedded in our legal system. A person with assets writes a will designating which ones will go to which relative, friend, charity, or others. Not long ago some imaginative news media person decided to call the in-office record of elected officials “legacies.” In monkey-see-monkey-do fashion, the notion was being repeated by reporter after reporter. The distinction between a legacy of assets and an ephemeral one such as a politician’s record has been lost among the media. A legacy is a gift; thus, the politician is bestowing his policy or legislative gift on his grateful recipients. Or,
December 1 has come and gone with fresh assurances from the Obama administration that the federal exchange website, HealthCare.gov, will work for approximately 80 percent of its visitors. A review of the website, and the state of the health-care plans offered via the state exchanges, suggests that the problem of absent or incomplete information regarding plans that exclude coverage of elective abortions and abortion-inducing drugs and devices is far from fixed. The problem is multi-layered. First and foremost, the federal exchange continues to offer little or no information on abortion coverage, and what does exist there is profoundly misleading. A search
Democrats are getting desperate in the defense of their troubled health-care law, with one congressman comparing the law’s troubled rollout to problems with his baby granddaughter. “I’ve got a one-year-old granddaughter, and on Thanksgiving Day she had a number of little glitches, but we’re not ready to throw her away because of a glitch here and there,” Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D., Mo.) said on MSNBC on Tuesday. “Most things in the beginning stages are going to be difficult to pull off.”
During today´s White House Youth Summit, President Obama called on young people to do whatever they can to promote his signature health care law — including plying their customers with cheap booze. "If you are a bartender, have a happy hour," Obama said as the crowd laughed. "And also probably get health insurance because a lot of people don´t have it." Obama also encouraged young people who are student body presidents or workers at nonprofit organizations to help people get enrolled. "If you´ve got a radio show, spread the word on air," Obama added. Obama called on young people´s sense of patriotism to join
RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, the assault on the traditional, standard American way of life continues unabated, and it is being conducted by a minority of people in this country. There´s an amazing poll out there today from the Investor´s Business Daily, Investors.com which illustrates just what an extreme minority today´s Democrat Party and the American left really is, in terms of minority, in terms of thinking, the body of thought in this country represented by them. It´s stunning, but at the same time it´s optimistic in a sense to learn just how insignificant in numbers they are. Now, that doesn´t tell
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
MSNBC has announced that Chris Matthews, Barack Obama´s most excitable fan, will be interviewing the President on Thursday´s Hardball. Fawning over the liberal politician is incredibly common among journalists, but Matthews has taken it to a whole new level. According to the network host, Obama is a "perfect," "cool," brilliant figure who is comparable to Jesus, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. The verbose Matthews has no filter when it comes to the Democrat, even once bizarrely blurting out that an Obama speech made him "forget" that the commander in chief "was black." To prepare you for the likely love-fest
Continued global warming poses a risk of rapid, drastic changes in some human and natural systems, a scientific panel warned Tuesday, citing the possible collapse of polar sea ice, the potential for a mass extinction of plant and animal life and the threat of immense dead zones in the ocean. At the same time, some worst-case fears about climate change that have entered the popular imagination can be ruled out as unlikely, at least over the next century, the panel found. These include a sudden belch of methane from the ocean or the Arctic that would fry the planet, as
Nobody could accuse the press of ignoring the fiasco-on-a-server that is HealthCare.gov. The Obamacare website’s woes are dominating coverage on the network news, the cable talk shows, the blogs and, of course, high-octane websites like POLITICO. But did the press do a good job of covering the Affordable Care Act before the health care exchanges went online—sort of—on Oct. 1? Were we adequately warned of the troubles that were to come? And now that HealthCare.gov’s problems are headline news, is the coverage of it any better? Sure, one can find a few examples of one news outlet or another warning of impending
MSNBC´s Chris Matthews will interview President Barack Obama this Thursday, the network announced Tuesday. The interview is part of Matthews´ "Hardball College Tour," and will take place at American University in Washington, D.C. According to a news release from MSNBC, Matthews, along with university students, will "discuss a variety of topics with the president including voter suppression, healthcare, the decline of confidence in the government and the overall political dysfunction in Washington." On Monday our colleagues Carrie Budoff Brown and Jonathan Allen reported that the White House is launching a coordinated campaign to return attention to why the Affordable Care Act
The president put in his ask to Disney CEO Bob Iger at a private meeting with entertainment moguls during his Nov. 26 visit to Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation. [snip] If you have any doubt as to how much of a sports junkie Barack Obama is, check in with the entertainment moguls who attended a private briefing with the president Nov. 26 before his speech at Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale. At the end of the conversation -- which touched on a myriad of topics, from piracy to Iran -- Obama revealed what´s at the top of his bucket
